Brilliant time considering all that travelling! An amazing final couple of K to get that time… paced to perfection! Lovely to see you both and thanks for the kind words, wishing you all the best for the rest of your racing year!
Brilliant piece of running that was, John. Well deserved time, not just because of the run itself but the training and consistency you’ve demonstrated with training throughout the year and before. Strength to strength.
Great to see you out on the TPT this morning and well done both of you in achieving some excellent times. When I'm hitting certain points in a race, I think about comparable segments in my training. A steady climb and I imagine running up Brockholes, a flat section equals running on the TPT between the station and Roughbirchworth. Hoping to run at Penistone parkrun if I can find a dog sitter on Saturday: Project Sub 24.
Congrats John on a great result! Your commentary on not wanting to finish last reminded me exactly how I felt at the Friday Night Under the Lights last September! Being at the back really motivates you to do everything you can not to get dropped
Well run John. I came dead last in the 2006 Asda Horwich Carnival Open 5km which included the AAA Championships and only just avoided being lapped. lol. Wow nearly 20 years ago. I'm approaching 57 and ran 20 dead on Saturday. I'm looking to drop that to sub 19 by my birthday.
Excellent John, it was also good to hear your breathing as mine is always desperate and so many RUclipsrs look like they are just jogging round rather than gasping for air. Again, well done maybe the long runs varied pace are putting strength into your legs.
Yes good point. I do feel greater strength and endurance which is feeding into shorter distances. Next up it will be interesting to see where we are at HM.
Awesome running John. FOD runner’s footage showed you looking strong and fast! Well done on your pacing strategy and not going off too quick…not sure who that reminds me of 🙃
Another thoroughly deserved sub 20 5K! You have worked so hard to get back to this level John & so happy for you. Keep up the excellent work, really enjoyed the commentary of your race. Top running💪🔥
@@tworunningbrooms I did 17:10 on the track 10 years ago. At the time was just a bit disappointed did not break 17 even despite winning the race. Never really got anywhere near it since.

Awesome support and encouragement Andy. John did great.
Thanks Andy you too.
You're on fire at the moment, John. Great to see! 👍👏

Thank you. Just keep showing up and good things will eventually happen.
Well done John, fantastic time and fully deserved 👏 💪
Thanks 👍
That's it you've cracked it now. You will have to set a new target 😊 Well done!
Thank you. I have ambitious ones but they're a way off yet.
A good strong effort. The brief side on video with your commentary worked really well.
Thank you it's something I've developed.
Great effort John! Nice to get an Andy Raynor boost too! 😄🚀
Thank you
Fantastic run and commentary John 🙌
Thank you Dean

I'm sure you'll get there. Yes 'just got to get to the skatepark' might be another mantra!
Looks a great event and a superb run John well done. Reminds me of Ipswich twilight 5k event
Thanks is that a Podium one too?
Congrats John on a great result! Your commentary on not wanting to finish last reminded me exactly how I felt at the Friday Night Under the Lights last September! Being at the back really motivates you to do everything you can not to get dropped
Yes that was a Podium wasn't it? Or was it Run Through? Either way these races aren't just a parkrun with a number on!
@@tworunningbrooms Yes a Podium, a fair bit more competitive than the runthrough ones!

That's great progress. Dawn was dead last in a 5k in Doncaster last year when running Sub 22!

Boom Mr Broom 👏 very well done. Great pacing and commentary. Maybe see you at the mid-Cheshire 5k on Friday! I’m in the yellow start pen ✊
Have a good one. What time are you hoping for?
@@tworunningbrooms 17:59:9999😂. I’ve tickled the 17 min barrier this year with 18:03, 18:05, 18:10. Maybe Friday is the day😃
Awesome running John. FOD runner’s footage showed you looking strong and fast! Well done on your pacing strategy and not going off too quick…not sure who that reminds me of 🙃
I had to run strong and fast as I was being filmed 😉. Had to keep it going for 49 seconds too as he was running easy 😉
I’m a couple years away from being able to run that sort of pace solid solid work 👍💪
You'll get there.
Brilliant running John. Hard effort from the start is always a brave move but you still went up the gears. Magic stuff.
Yes sometimes worth risking it for a bigger reward.

Thanks Kev. I'll keep plugging away.
Enjoyed that, well done. Good to see the course, a lassie in our club was down there running for Scotland.
Hope she had a good one.
@@tworunningbrooms 16:19 iirc, decent for a fv35. Although she appeared disappointed.
Love it
Thank you
Singlet game is on point 👌
Same design as an old club from Barnsley. Retro running. Great feel to it.
Great job John 🎉🎉 I'm expecting your to pull a 10s pr now every time you run a 5k race now 😂😂
That would be nice for the next 8 races...
Listening to your breathing has me thinking I'm not pushing as hard as I could!
I didn't realise I was breathing that hard!
Well done great effort 👍
Thank you
Well done that must be very pleasing. If a race goes well, I say best time for x years. If x = 5 then even better.
We'll soon be getting to x+10 if I hit my goals.

And 12 secs shorter than a bike FTP test :)
From experience I reckon the bike FTP test is harder🥴
@@sagsdothedu at least running you don’t feel are watching every second tick down!
You need an FTP test with Pontypridd Roadents to chase on the bike 😉
@@tworunningbrooms I was wondering if you caught the woman in said vest ?
