This is a golden video! Great, relaxed, simple, but accurate advice and instruction!!! This really lets us feel this style, instead of trying to over-analyze it... thank you for this!!!
Thanks for the tutorial, I've always wanted to play blues style and this tutorial has made me determined to give it a go, cheers again, Kevin from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you for your pragmatic approach. With this open base, you allowed us to play and create intuitively our proper music in the way of John Lee. So precious !
This is great, more lessons like this please YT. We're not all struggling to fret an A and it's nice to feel looked after:P in all seriousness, subscribed. Great lesson, great sound.
This is a great place to play around in my favorite JLH era -- after he'd gone to Chicago but was still playing Delta style. The Crawling King Snake era. chef's kiss. I'd rather listen to 6:37 on repeat than anything by Eric Clapton.
I’ve had this ‘saved for later’ for a while, and just got round to watching it. I wish I’d watched it sooner, you explained it brilliantly! I can’t wait to put this advice into practice.
Man!!!! As soon as I put this video on my foot started tapping.....I love JLH style.....so coooool. Always wanted to play like him. I'll be picking my guitar back up. Great lesson. Subbed and waiting for more of the same. 😍
Both ZZ Top and John Lee Hooker are BAM! right in the pocket. I was just listening to "Crawling King Snake" and the rhythm is just a guy banging out 1 2 3 4 with rimshots, but it's enough.
Dude I love this. Thanks for showing me how to begin. I'm an old guy that has just started playing guitar. And i hav'nt got a teacher. I kind of worked out the A cord with one finger before now. But I'm sick of all the RUclips videos that teach, "put this finger on this string & fret, play it twice then move this finger here etc. I really like the way u have shown me how to start & what to aim for. It's great, thank you very much. Shout out from New Zealand.
I love the sound of John Lee Hooker😎👍.. always did and you've got it flowing in your blood. I came upon your video by surprise and subscribed 🎯. Fabulous...🙏🏅😉!!!
That was really awesome Stef. Now i can really see the connection with how Billy Gibbons was infulenced . My ZZ playing has just been elevated . Thankyou for your easy to understand lesson. Now to practice it slowly and let it seep into my deeper mind . Oh Yeah :)
Killer insight. Getting to the concept instead of just going for a cover lesson. I dig it.
Happy you found it useful! Thanks!
Wow, amazing lesson! I don't think I've ever seen so many ideas packed into an under-ten-minute video! Thanks!
Thank you!!

Thank you!! Happy you find it useful!!
Awesome, Stef! Thank you for not over explaining at a painfully slow pace like so many tutorials out there! Love it!!!
My pleasure! ;-)
Man.. That intro was groovy. That Austin Powers insert was exactly what I was thinking 🤣
