In 1970, I bought my first Black Sabbath. I went through half a century of metal without damage. Then I met Babymetal and now I'm addicted, I need my dose every day... they're dangerous! 💥🦊💥
This is another beautiful song showing a more mature side from 3rd album Metal Galaxy, but is also a song that belongs to a special set called officially Trilogy Of Lights, to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth, but fans took this set unofficially as a tribute to Mikio Fujioka past away and YuiMetal withdrawal, both sad events in 2018. The songs in order are: - Starlight - Shine - Arkadia They're meant to hear in this order so you can understand and experience the message of these songs as a whole, try it whenever you can, you might feel a different feeling depending on your mood and state of mind. This was live at Legend Metal Galaxy Day 2 2020 (a live compilation with another show) The avenger is Riho Sayashi and the backing band is the West Kami Band. My suggestion for you is to watch another special version live at Legend M 2019 MoaMetal 20th Birthday, a beautiful and intimate performance with only SuMetal and MoaMetal on the stage. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
I was fortunate to be at the LA Forum performance of this song with VIP rail seats side stage right. One of my most fondest Babymetal memories were at the end of this song. As you see them walk back into the light, the girls walked into darkness, but there was a blue glow of light remaining so that those in my position could still see the girls, although others in the venue could not. As they reached the back of the stage, Su turned around to face Riho and Moa, and launched into a Suzuka Nakamoto Happy Dance which continued until the opening notes of Arkadia brought the lights back and Sumetal returned.
Good reaction, thanks! "Shine" is an exceptionally beautiful song and also one of my top favorites (very unexpectedly). In my opinion this is one of Su-metal's finest works as a vocalist. I believe you know now about the "Trilogy of Lights". 😁 Until next time! 🤘🦊
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I always defer to wise men in our fanbase like Grington300, Rick Wagner for detail explanation about this song (and Trilogy of Lights). I love their narratives and they tell you the reason why this song moves people. This is a compilation from two shows in Japan (Makuhari / Osaka) but the live debut in 3-girl formation was done at The Forum, CA on Oct.11, 2019. (The premiere was done only by Su and Moa in Japan, July 2019) The musicians in the girls' back are West (American) Kamis : Chris Kelly (Guitar), C.J. Masciantonio (Guitar), Clint Tustin (Bass) and Anthony Barone (Drums). They came and played in Japan on Day-2 of the two-day shows at Makuhari. And they are currently supporting Su, Moa and Momo in every show in April and thereafter. I am sure they will go on tour in USA this fall, as well. We can rest assured as long as American Knights protect our queen and princesses when Japanese Samurais do not. They are both great.
Heard in order Shine is 2nd part of Trilogy of Lights and makes the 3 songs even more emotional when you understand them . There is another performance a duo with just Su and Moa from Legend M, Moa's birthday show Su's vocals, and the courography by Moa is outstanding, so much emotion put into it gives you goosebumps from beginning to end . ❤️❤️😁🦊🤘🏼🦊
There is no vocalist, other than Su-Metal who can put a continuous smile on my face, and then a few songs later bring a tear to my eye. Bravo indeed!!! 🖖❤
Before the release of the album, the melody of this song had been used as an epic outro to their live shows. The final piece has retained some of that quality, I love it.
The Trilogy of Lights is the best guitar and drums work from the band, great stuff. Others have probably already told you the order of the trilogy, so hopefully you can react to the other 2 songs 😅
This one is bloody wonderful :D It's worth looking for the one that has some of Legend M in it with Moa on the acoustic guitar as well - even if in your own time
I rate the performance of Shine at Legend M as the single best performance they have ever done. It's just a powerful, intimate, and personal tribute to the friends lost along the way.
Great reaction, I absolutely love this song, I knew even after hearing just a short clip from a shaky fancam that it would be right up among my top favourite BABYMETAL songs. Su's vocals in particular just grabbed me possibly more than in any other song. I know you have been told now that 'Shine' is the second song in the Trilogy of Lights - these are the three songs that closed the third album Metal Galaxy - but I don't know if you have had the Trilogy of Lights explained already, but even if so I think it is worth repeating. They describe the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close. 'Starlight' is about the initial shock and grief (and you need to see a live version of that as well - so much better than the official video). 'Shine' is about acceptance and coming to terms with the loss (I hope you will also watch the Legend M performance, that one is extra special - just Su, Moa and a guitar on stage, possibly Su's best vocal performance to date and Moa's choreo is incredibly moving and emotional). 'Arkadia' is about looking to the future and better times to come, it is really full of optimism and so uplifting. It has never been said by anybody associated with BABYMETAL, but most fans believe the trilogy is a tribute to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) who tragically died in January 2018 after falling from an observation deck where he had been stargazing ... it is just fan speculation, but it is hard to believe there isn't something in it, especially given the lyrics of 'Starlight' - "Wherever we are we'll be with you We'll never forget shining starlight Wherever you are live in my heart We'll never forget shooting star" and the Legend M performance in particular of 'Shine' would also suggest there is something in it. 'Starlight' was also released on the same day in October 2018 that Yui announced she would be leaving the band and Su has said she thinks of Yui and how she would have danced to this song, so maybe the tribute is for her as well. Only the Fox God knows.🦊
To catch the feeling of the live concerts I suggest the videos "Road to Resistance" live. Or "Headbanger" the version there Moa celebrates her 20th birthday, better known as Moabanger.🤘🦊🤘
Another stunning vocal performance from Queen Su. A couple of months ago, Su and Moa filmed a song for a TV show called 'The First Take', where there is just one take for whatever song the artist has chosen to perform. It is Su with Moa doing harmonies and the accompaniment is a piano with a little bit of strings at the end. Su's voice is the central part of the song and it is trult astounding. The song they chose was 'Monochrome', which they released as an MV a few months ago.
I couldn't agree more, their imagery is something else. The lyrics of this song are powerful and Su, like always, delivers them with emotion that they require. Their choreography and stage designs also enhance the songs further.
Shine is one of the songs from the Trilogy Of light Baby Metal...starlight, Shine , and Arkadia...I feel those three songs can take us to a different dimension...I really like Baby Metal...please react....hopefully you are given health...
Great reaction! This is one of my my four most favorite Babymetal songs. Especially the Legend M version with just Su, Moa, an acoustic guitar and the emotion knob turned up to eleventy! You owe it to yourself to watch it. No need to react unless you want. It is amazing! Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘
you only get these epic performances in Japan i've seen them live in the USa and they scale down everything because they don't bring their stages with them . but still they are amazing

Babymetal taught us that metal music is better with a choreo
👍 👍 Hopefully at some point you can watch the first LIVE performances of this song where Moa is onstage with an acoustic guitar (the acoustic guitar in this performance was also Moa playing it on backtrack). In that performance only Suzuka and Moa perform the song (many believe it is because they were the two who always performed with Mikio Fujioka and that having only the two original members was like the missing jet in a memorial (in honor of Yui). Suzuka is (in my opinion) the most versatile and amazing female vocalist on the planet. Moa’s backing vocals and elegant choreography is beautiful. The other young lady in this performance was Riho (Avengers did not wear headset microphones and were only there for choreography). This LIVE song/performance gives you a taste of just how amazing BabyMetal is. So many more amazing LIVE song/performances ahead (if you choose to continue).

Shine. One of my very favorites. I mean every BABYMETAL song is my favorite but this is one of my favorite favorites. It feels very emotional and personal. Especially if you get to see the version with just Su and Moa. Su never sounded so magical and beautiful and Moa's dancing was passionate and whimsical. They were so in sync with one another too. I will never get tired of watching it. 🤘🦊🤘

This is the song that makes me most sentimental.
Shine - best song on this earth and the whole universe

I'll check it out!
This band are so talented and su what a voice. I just wish I knew what they were singing about.
"Shine"
The second instalment of the "TRILOGY OF LIGHTS" after "Starlight". This song fans assume was dedicated to guitarist" Mikio Fujioka" who passed away in Jan 2018 & "Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal)" who left Babymetal in Nov 2018 due to undisclosed health issue. "Starlight" is about remembering, "Shine" is about acceptance and "Arkadia" is looking forward to the future. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤟🤘.
'Shine' is about acceptance. Su-Metal and Moametal accepted the fact that Mikio Fujioka is watching over Babymetal and Yuimetal is no longer with Babymetal. Even though Moametal doesn't really playing the guitar which she could in another live shows, the mood of which this song captivate and portray is mesmerising. Su-Metal and Moametal performed this song for each other and for current and former members of Babymetal. They are leaving the memories that Babymetal created together but not forgotten. Great reaction always. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬.
Shine Lyrics Overview:-
光の彼方まで
Light to the other side
光よ彼方まで
Endless
果てしなく続く
Even if you wander in the darkness
闇の中彷徨っても
A little light
僅かな光を
Taguriyosete
手繰り寄せて
My heart shouted
心が叫んだ
It doesn't matter if it breaks
かまわない壊れても
Dazzling light
眩い光が
Because it illuminates us
僕らを照らすから
Shining sky Let's take off
Shining sky飛び立とう
Shining road forever
Shining roadどこまでも
To a journey in space far away
遥か遠く宇宙の旅へ
Far away to space
遥か遠く宇宙へ
Shining light Let's go
Shining lightさあ行こう
Shining road forever
Shining roadどこまでも
To an eternal journey beyond space-time
時空を超えて永遠の旅へ
Delivered beyond space-time
時空を超えて届け
Shining in my heart
Shining in my heart
Shining in your heart
Shining in your heart
Shining forever
Shining forever
