No disrespect to Rein or any fantasy creator, they do great work and it’s good to hear their insight just in case there are things I missed or didn’t consider, but all in all, you’re better off ignoring their plans and going with what your mind gut and heart are telling you to do.
I, similarly to you, was switching my team a lot to match strategy ideas creators were using, and it’s helped me at times, but overall, my rivals who don’t know anything have performed better than me. I have never come last place in my league at all but I also haven’t won a weekend since Imola, which was my only win, and it was only by one point. I am consistently in second and third place. It pisses me off how middle of the road I perform. I have not had one weekend where I had a large swing of 50 points where everyone else has, even my rivals in last place with a 110M budget (I’m in second place, 280 pts behind btw).
I share my frustrations to explain to you that even though these creators are diligent, smart managers with great insight, ultimately following their plans is hurting you. Sometimes you have to have fun and go with what YOU want to do and what YOU think will happen. There have been too many times where I had a hunch an outlier would do well but I chose to focus on the meta or the easy decisions and the hunch idea exceeded my expectations. Of course I was upset I missed out on a large points and cash haul, but I was most upset I didn’t listen to myself. I have the right ideas for MY team and my strategy and deviating from how MY team is structured, ultimately hurts me in the end.
Do yourself a favor and do what you want to do with your team. Seek advice from the creators you think have the best information but don’t follow their strategies. That way if things don’t go as planned, you won’t be upset you didn’t listen to yourself, which is worse long term.
Lastly, don’t forget to have fun with it, especially if you’re in a smaller private league. Your position isn’t as variable in a private league, so going against the grain could help. If you need large budget gains don’t be afraid to use non meta constructors. I used Alpine and VCARB a few times and gained heaps of cash, and it was super fun rooting for them and it ended up helping.
Go with your gut, go with your mind, and if you lack confidence in those, have fun and go with what your heart wants.
      Good luck, have fun.

      Rein deleted my comment. Lol.
Anyways sirtatse. Go with your gut and your heart. Try not to follow the plans and strategies of creators to a t. Their advice is important but your team situation and how you feel going into the weekend is exclusive to you. You may do better if you play how you think best and you’ll feel better if you miss out because at least you went with what you think was the right call.

@@ReinFantasyIt was a longer comment explaining that following content creators strategies isn’t a great idea and will ultimately hurt most players, especially those in private leagues like OP and I.
TLDR: Told OP to play with their own gut and heart more and the game becomes easier and more enjoyable.
I suggested to OP that the advice that Rob F1FantasyHub, Adam FanAmp, EuanFPL, ZachF1, and yourself amongst other creators is really helpful and is set in facts that a lot of managers need, but following your guys’ strategies doesn’t always work, due to the fact that every team is different and every manager has a unique mindset going into the weekend.
I suggested to OP, who’s in a private league to have fun with it, and go with what he feels is the best option given the data from teams while also taking creator advice into account, but ultimately the final team should be made of their own ideas.
I also put out there that what is meta may not always succeed because things happen, and having a differential team that a manager constructed out of passion AND theory, could be much more satisfying because private leagues have less competition and bigger points gaps, large point swings come more often than public leagues due to the variety of team structure.
On the opposite end, if a manager makes a team out of passion as a result of following their gut and their own heart without outside influence, they’re less likely to feel bad because they did what THEY wanted, not what other people suggested they said will do well, but didn’t.

I agree with your negative points spiel. Players are overly punished for things they can't take account of. I've been on the end of both the Haas double DQ and Albon DQ.

  • @dexdubya2414
    @dexdubya2414 Месяц назад +1

Rein I absolutely agree with you on the topic of negative points. In my league at Monaco I was 60 pts behind the guy in first and I had 2X Haas. The DSQ and the DNFs absolutely ruined any ground I could gain, and it pretty much ruined my whole season.
Shoutout to the guy in first, who had MCL FER and LEC SAI that week. With Haas’ going out and LEC winning it all, the gap between us that week was 130 and I still haven’t recovered. After that he had gained heaps of money while I lost heaps and he ended up with an advantage of having better drivers and team structure from then on.
I’ve had moments where I’ve out performed him. Notably Canada, where Ferrari had their issues and Silverstone where LeClerc struggled to make points. Those gave me bits of confidence but at the end of most weekends, we end up breaking even or I lose.
One could say I have bad luck or I’m not a good manager but at the beginning the season, when our money was closer, it was a lot more competitive between the two of us… up until Monaco.
DNFs have the potential to set players far back, and even ruin their season, at no fault of the player. Yes, they should definitely change the scoring on those.

I have a talent for making unnecessary C tier transfers. Missed out on over a million in value. Haas situation spooked me and so brought in Albon and Ocon. That went well... Upside is I can still get back to Norris in T2, have 3 teams with over 125M and T3 with Norris is up to 2k overall.

  • @sundersquare

First time playing F1 Fantasy. Was shocked by how big the negatives were when I started. It's really bad and a terrible way to make a casual game based a lot on luck as we have no control over DNF's or whatever. Human nature is to focus on the negative too so it often feels like the negatives are worse even if you have a high scoring driver too

I literally didnt watch anything this week cause I had work and forgot about anything and ended up with 258 from the week rank 4k world with all hips bar wildcard left. I play a lot of FPL fantasy and cant help but agree but disagree with the negatives, Jose Sa conceded 6 last weekend for wolverhampton and finished on -1 point (the whole scale of points is way lower, like i triple captained when haaland scored a hatrick and i got like 52)

I went from MCL, RBR, NOR, HULK, ALB, TSU & SAR. I wanted to get a B-tier driver in & had the same concerns about Hulk so I went to MCL, MER, NOR, RUS, ALB, TSU & SAR. I had 3 transfers and was considering switching out Lando for another B-tier but at the last minute decided to save a transfer. Right move for pts + 240, wrong move for budget, negative - $.1 m. Moved from 1300 to 1039 WR. I agree that the worst part of the game is the huge hit penalties are on the game. I got hit with the double DQ last yr at COTA while using my Unlimited chip.

its hard with the negatives as if a team is always getting DQs as theyre doing something wrong every week i think negative points for choosing them is justified...i just think one offs like this people cant predict or account for...its so hard for anyone to gain 15-25 points back so the negatives drastically out weigh the points gained elsewhere

My plan is to go from PIA-RUS-MCL-MER-ALB-SAR-BOT to NOR-RUS-MCL-MER-ZHO-SAR-BOT and just hope that Noris will dominate and RUS be decent at least so I can afford better C-tier at some point.
I feel I will lose ML if I don’t go with NOR. Hopefully SAR, BOT and ZHO will not DNF. Opinion?
