I built the tractor-only Paystar 5000 a decade ago. Terrific kit; Ertl set the bar high and I never felt that AMT matched their engineering/manufacturing prowess. There were a couple of minor fit issues but I got through those. I left the fifth-wheel unattached because the truck I modeled was in transit between the International plant and a specialty plant that would fit a mixer body. Nice work - thanks for saving an old master!
The ERTL kits were top of the line back in the 70's when they first came out. Great kits to build and yours turned out nice. It looks like you took the time to drill out the air horns, a lot of modelers put huge amounts of time in detailing and weathering things and then put on a set of horns that still have the mold lines showing. That really takes away the realistic look but yours look authentic.
I built the dump truck kit back in the 70's and still have it. Same thing with the tilt hood you think they would have fashioned some hinges. But I did get my mirrors right.
Hellow Round 2! A reissue of this one would make for a hhomerun! Especially if wheels were retooled as 6 or 8 spoke "work truck/utillity variants - and possibly with "bonus of highway wheel/tire set!!!
Dan, Just getting into doing the Big Rigs, after many years of cars and trucks. I am looking for two trailers, both logging trucks. The first is the peerless logging trailerAMT, the second is an Eartle Timber Trailer. I am hoping that you may have or know someone that may have them for my use. Thank you From The Eagles Nest
Absolutely! AMT owes me a fortune in spray can paints for having to fix their dull grey. The big Catarpillar bulldozer and the huge off-road yellow and white dump truck.
Freeda Jackson I'm sorry but my model is not for sale. This model was last available in the late 80's. You might be able to find one on EBay but expect to pay a lot for it! I suspect that Round2 now owns the molds for this kit. They have been rereleasing a lot of old kits so we can only hope.
Hi there, I happened to find this today at an antique shop in San Francisco; it was expensive so while in the store I googled it to get some info before purchasing and came across your video. After watching your video it was a no brainer to buy it. At first glance from the box it wasn't obvious if the trailer came with it so I asked the sales lady if we could open it and low and behold, everything was present and sealed - this kit does have a lot of pieces like 8 bags. Some pieces are blue - 1 bag, black - 1 bag, white - 1 bag, chrome - 2 bags and the cab is red - 1 bag and 2 separate bags for the tires and decals. Had to read the instructions though to determine if the trailer was part of the kit which it is. Anyway it is still possible to find these old kits other than eBay - thanks for posting this video otherwise i would have overlooked this gem!

Thanks for the feedback. I'd love to get a hold of one of their S series kits. It would be a great start to a utility truck or a school bus.
Beautifully done, thanks for showing greetings from the Netherlands

I had the Ertl John Deere tractor 4240 with cab 😊 i’d like to find another one of them the tractor I customize👍🏻
The re-released kits are not molded in colors like the originals, But in gray. I would prefer the original kits.

I still have the original Mack Cruiseliner, that I built in 1979
Hermoso trabajo
