I really appreciate the fact that this has taught me so much more about Sweden's military history I definitely like. The fact that they have decided to do at least two of the swedish kings that made Sweden into a military juggernaut for at least for a while I certainly hope they can do more obscure military kings like the other two kings that fought alongside czar Peter the great I think both videos do a great job explaining the different point of views from both the swedish and the imperial Russian forces from what they viewed as they thought what was right even though the swedish were trying to defend themselves Peter was the aggressor but this conflict has been stewing for years but it boiled over where Charles even though I think he could have had a long reign but this wasn't meant to be he was killed and then the swedish empire died with him Russia however managed to rise in power all they way up until the rise of Soviets however I do find them both brilliant military commanders and they definitely have my respect they were trying to do what they thought was right
I miss Simon not gonna lie,however i was immediately willing to give Karl a chance and have warmed to him greatly,overall brings his own style to hosting and thankfully doesn't try to copy Simon.

So whether my ancestors played a direct role in making it an empire or not, this is still very much my heritage and I love learning about it.

Kalr invasion plan of russia made alot of sens at the time when you look at it in its time and not with a modern lence, Karl most likely model the invasion on the polish-Muscovite War of 1605-1618 when poland manage to take moscow. this was the first major war when russia used scorched earth tactics and Fabian strategy on a larger scale like that. Also the argument that karl was only succseful beacus of luck is so dumb if it was only luck he would have lost a battle or two in Poland, karl big mistake was not that he invaded russai it was that he did not turn his army around once he could not feed his army and choose to keep going that was his big mistake.

I feel like the writers for this channel have been going through Sabaton songs to find topics to write about. Have to admit, there are much worse bands out there to choose, especially for a history channel

It would be nice to see a narrator with a more serious tone. Ik that Simon is Gone and I get that but I also don’t like the new setup, bring back the old one.
Karl and Eric will be sharing hosting duties in 2024. Eric's agreed to take the more serious and somber scripts, since Karl's not super comfortable covering super sensitive topics. Karl's an awesome host, though, so we hope you still watch his episodes. :)
As for the setup, everything is a work in progress. When Simon first started doing these, his PC was his background for a lot of videos.

I have no problem with the new great host but these ad reads are so bad... bro, you went into a tangent about honey badgers as a part of the ad read that was already hard to bear and too long
I like this guy, but he is no Simon. Everything is a joke to him, whereas when Simon Narrated, it carried weight

I feel like it was a good choice to have him be more jokey and casual. Trying to mimic Simon's presenting style would've been a real mistake.
@@balabanasireti I said I liked him, didn't I b!tch? I am far from the only one who has complained about him. He speaks too quickly, runs his words together, and has too thick of an accent. I'm just not an azz kiss like most people are...I tell it how it is
@@Talisguy it's not just his style...he runs his words together like he is in a race to get done, and it's hard to understand his thick accent. I've only watched 3 videos since he has taken over because of this
Well for one, Karl's primary channel is informal.
Second, you clearly haven't watched Casual Criminalist, Brain Blaze, or Decoding the unknown. The Factboi laughs and is incredibly not like his biographics hosting.

@@mocsaiorsolya5292 just realized I never explained what happened. Previous owner died, daughter took over, and burnt out. During this time not much happened with the channels, with Simon leaving while this was happening. This explains the huge gaps in uploads
