    I know I'd just be playing with these for hours, that addictive magnet pull

      :-) I think thats almost what happened in this video jack - I had to edit out about 10 minutes of me playing with magnets! :-)

      ASMR with magnets!!!

    Nice idea. The issue with all of these cables is longevity. You can't tell from purchase price etc whether they'll last 3 weeks or 3 years, and nor are reviews any indication of quality.

      These are significantly stronger than the chinese pvc cables - I have high hopes... but at £20 a go, you'd expect quality!

    Seems pretty handy if one doesn't have any cable ties at hand.

      My favourite cable ties are the reusable type... A little tab lets you release and reuse them :-) 🙂

      @@DubiousEngineering I bought a brick of varying length Velcro ties from Amazon ages ago, got them in use all over the room here and barely put a dent in the supply.

      @@ChrisShadowens @ChrisShadowens Oh those are lush too!! I have a few from items I've purchased... Very useful and tidier than plastic cable ties!!!

    They look Great!
    A few years ago I bought some magnetic cable connectors, I thought were also great. ......But they picked up all the iron fillings which made it impossible to make a connection .
    For sure I will give these cables a try, normal cables always seem too long.
    🤔 Doesn't coiling cables cause a resistance and loss of power?🤔

    • @DubiousEngineering
      @DubiousEngineering  4 месяца назад +2

      Hey Patrick!! I wouldn't keep these cables close to your bench grinder :+). The length and thickness of the cable dictate the resistance, coiling then makes no difference... Hope you have a fantastic weekend bud!!! H

      Coiling them will make them into an electromagnet, but it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Both the number of turns and current are so low here that it shouldn't cause any issues.

    I wonder how magnetic are they? if they are too magnetic you could damage phone screens/credit cards or cause interference to badly shielded cables, like computer mouse or speakers

    • @DubiousEngineering
      @DubiousEngineering  4 месяца назад +1

      Unlikely... My watch has a magnetic charge adaptor, my phone has magnets built-in to the screen, as does my laptop, my iPad has a magnetic cover. You'll be fine 😊
