This game legitimately had some of the most over the top and brutal kills of any game. The only other game that comes to mind is God of War when it comes to this level of violence in an isometric game. Holy crap do I want a sequel or some kind of remake.

@@saininj those games were gory asf as well but this one takes the cake doom didn’t have your characters getting their limbs ripped off and their bones coming out of their body to use as weapons and the atmosphere really complimented the story and characters in this game same with doom but I think this is more gory wish I could play it again but all the copy’s I can find are 200 dollars and I ain’t paying that for a game

A great remake of a classic game, marred by bad loading times and cheap deaths that bring them. It was pretty cool that it came with the original 3 Splatterhouse games on the disc. I would go to great lengths to see a sequel to this. After all, Rick still has to rescue his girl!

The human characters in this game are actually super expressive, even better at conveying emotions than newer bigger budget games years down the line and that's before the great voice acting. I'm not a big fan of the mask's bulky bland design tho lol.

It's not exactly perfect, and the way it's written is clearly a product of it's time, so the humor and style of storytelling is a little dated. But this game still isn't bad! And it's such a shame we didn't get a sequel. It's just an unfortunate product of not making back the money it took to make.

Well in the very first Splatterhouse Jennifer died in the end. Not just died but got turned in to a monster and Rick had to kill her. Even more gruesome ending. In this ending Jennifer is still kinda there though her body got posessed.
One cutscene that got missed also happens to be my personal favorite Mask: I demand a stuffed animal I just think that’s too funny Another was “see now that’s the kind of shit that got us an m rating”
i love this game to death i played it to the point there nothing left to accomplish on it, but i recently came back to it and it didn’t really stand the tests of time its super laggy and has flaws i wish i didn’t see

I always wondered does Rick’s body stay like that forever or no go back to normal if he took the mask off and they should make a part 2 it would be so cool where he fights all kinds of monsters again and maybe new ones and at the end he should fight evil possessed Jen and Doctor Henry West and make Doctor Henry West say something to unpossessed Jen and the corrupted take his soul and drag him down to hell with them or whatever they came from and make him his slave.. and maybe just maybe the mask finally lets Rick go and Rick and Jen lock it in a box and put it away somewhere for another 100 years or centuries or so… let it rest again or just keep it and talk to it IDK.. and finally Rick proposes to Jen and have a little clip they finally go out to eat and to the Arkham Bowl together and probably a little jump scare scene were Doctor Henry West Hand comes back from the ground but goes back down..

Can we give some massive props to Richard Doyle for the quality of his delivery? The "Ruined Heart" chapter is a real treat because of him; come for the gore and the ultraviolence, stay to listen to Doyle magnificently convey Dr. Henry West's grief, desperation and gradual slide into madness! ...but all of his beautiful Classic English prose and exposition make his "No, Rick! Fuck you!" seem a bit out of character for West, don't they?

It's roughly on par with all of the phonograph recordings throughout Alistair Grout's mansion in VTMB portraying his descent from "eloquent and respectable professor" to "raving, paranoid lunatic" as the Malkavian curse slowly takes hold. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), Ming Xiao ends Grout's existence before he can get any worse. 🤔
It would've gotten a remake if those boomers who grew up with that godforsaken original would stop comapring it to this since those people have toxic masculinity.
