This guy is realer than Ndii. Its funny and serious at the same time how comedians critic society. It had to take a diaspora african to come tell us about Adam Smith (the invicible hand), big up to you ShowKali. This guy should mentor this youngins before they go to uni
I like him since I learned about the serious hustle it took for him to go from being a contract digger on people's farms (those guys earn below peanuts), to buying mtumba clothes from Kamukunji and taking them to Nyeri, moving to Buru Buru and learning of some people who had found opportunities to travel abroad etc. But I think he might need some speaking/diction coaching _if_ he finds such opportunities, and wants to keep doing work that requires public speaking in English from him. For no reason other than being more effective at his work. My opinion can be disregarded, considering people like the CEO of Equity Bank (who has won global awards etc) have that strong influence from their native languages. Given his hustle, I can never rule him out. As long as he keeps his head straight and goes step by step
@@DMM671 His enunciation/pronunciation of words. I've seen quite a few comments from people who can't understand what he's saying. Maybe it's easier for African Americans to understand him, given that he's lived with them for a long time. Other people seems to have difficulty. Even I who has lived with AAs fail to catch words once in a while. I really think his comedy journey could have gone further if he had done some work to delete his accent a bit. Successful people in the US (including Max Levchin, co-founder of PayPal with Elon Musk and others) have worked on removing their native accents to sound American. I'm certainly not a fan of sounding American, and I never tried to in my decade there. But if people can can remove the effect of native accents in a new language, I believe they can also simply develop more clarity when speaking a new language
The fact you quoted the Equity Bank founder should have stopped you in your tracks typing this comment going after his diction. He spoke English in an accent influenced by his native language. Come on… some Italians, Asians speak some broken English with a heavy native accent and people listen… let’s extend grace to ourselves as African people… Our accents are part of our identity and are not challenges …
@@harrysonhihu3842 As much as he learned the words and grammar of a foreign language to communicate in it, and isn't interspersing it with words from his native language etc, he should also learn how to pronounce the words correctly. Accent training isn't a new thing. Having spent time in the US, he probably knows this. The Italians and Asians you speak of invest a lot of effort in reducing the effect of their native languages on secondary and tertiary languages. Their success in business etc depends on it. One American founder of PayPal, Max Levchin, a USD billionaire, has spoken about this. He invested a lot in speaking without a thick Russian accent. I've watched many videos in which Jojo Showcali has been featured. I see comments from people saying that they don't understand what he's saying. I've also watched his comedy. I can see clearly that people in the audience don't understand what he's talking about. I'm a proud speaker and writer of Kikuyu but I'm just trying to help him become more effective. James Mwangi, who I've personally met in his office a few times, depends less on speaking for his career. Also his accent is far less stronger
Kingori, it also comes down to cost of living. 500k in USA is not the same value as in Kenya. USA has a much higher standard, therefore cost, of living. It's not rocket science. He is right.
I really love this conversation. kindly simuachilie full interview once rather than in small bits. Otherwise dr.kingori is too good at his interviews he knows how to tap the other side of his intervieews

😂 Africa is uniting? Bro wake up kenya just got divided into 42 counties where every governor n mca are looting.
Jojo is actually a comedian. He has the sense of humour, the scarred past, the intelligence. Lakini delivery at best... 2/10. lets face it.
Very boring 😒
