My pro wrestling dreams ended in 1998 and was released from the hospital 2 days before Christmas and Walmart Canada had a deal on the PS1 console and 2 greatest hits titles for $199CAD. The 2 games that I always wanted to play for the PS1 was Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy VII and they had the PS1 games in a huge square bin. I found Gran Turismo right away and looked through the bin without finding FF7. I decided to just go through one game at a time and stack them in the "square soft"ly (terrible pun intended) and neatly. After half an hour I found what I was looking for (was the only copy left) and when I got home played it until 4 in the morning only to wake up and realize that none of my gameplay was saved. I knew there was memory cards but thought there may have been a little bit of memory on the console to save. I then played that entire day and into the night leaving the console on and going back to the same Walmart and getting a 4 pack of MadKatz PS1 memory cards with a plastic flip case holder for $9.99CAD.
It's so strange to see all the characters in such high polygons and resolution. It looks fantastic!

I hope this game will win in the game awards for this year. This is my all time favorite final fantasy game. I really enjoyed the remake and now rebirth. Also I platinum both games on PS4/PS5 remake and rebirth on PS5.

@TheMcrico84 It is. Than part 3, which is the final part of the remake project should come out in approximately 3 to 4 years. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to be released.
This is honestly one of the most clean and well made one-game-specific presentations I have ever seen. No time was wasted whatsoever and 20 minutes felt like a fluid 10-15 in the best of ways! This is how you advertise your product and show that it’s great. Can’t wait to experience this game!

I have never been so excited and happy for a game to come out, and now that it's so close I don't even have words to describe how happy I am for this game. Even though I wasn't born in the late 90's to play the original, I played it on my phone and replayed the remake over and over again, waiting and hoping to see a sequel, and now I'm here watching this almost crying for excitement. I really can't express how happy I am, thank you FF7, for existing.
I love how they emphasize the rapport and camaraderie you develop with your party, also affects gameplay. Including increasing your party’s level and influencing who accompanies you on specific quests. I wonder what the “Gold Saucer” event entails.
In the original before heading to the Temple of the Ancient, the party is stuck for one night in the Gold Saucer, during that night Cloud go off with a character on a date, the character was chosen base on an hidden affection stats that was influenced by Cloud dialogue choices and some actions throughout the game, back then only Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie and Barret could be dated.
So I'm assuming this event will happen again, and the party member with highest affection will be the one to go with Cloud for that night.
Barret is the best date in the original no question.

Ah man, Aerith giving Cloud the holy materia hits deep. Very rarely does a game make me feel emotional but this piece of art does.

It's been nearly 30 years, and iam honestly gobsmacked, in awe and just overwhelmed by how amazing this looks..I think we can all agree this is beyond all of our hopes of what it would turn out like...the feelings I got watching this..what a time to be alive going to preorder the most expensive version.
The love and passion that is so evident in this game and the sheer quality of human craftsmanship deserves it!

@@rayyanabdulwajid7681 The PS4 version of Remake already had very high visual fidelity-and graphics are much more than visual fidelity. The art direction and environment design in Rebirth is simply outstanding and, imo, blows away anything Remake has to offer.

The piano mini game in the Demo.... I played piano up to grade 6 conservatory and I had to untrain my brain from holding the directions down longer like in a real piano to hold the note longer. Was messing with me and I miss remembered the few slowing down tempo bits. I eventually got a perfect star rating.

@@a.c.forever5157 The guy from the beginning in Alexandria, who also explains the card game (forgot his English name) is also Gilgamesh. You find it out by getting S treasure hunter rank and going to the lone island with the library town thing called Daguerrero or smth.

I don't think The "Backshot Queen," is going to disappoint by the end of this game. I think the game will end with her death, but due to the fractured timeline, Zack is going to tank it/trade his life for hers. After all, he's "technically," alive.
Well, they needed something for her to use to interact with the world. Plus, her keeping a grapple gun would make sense since it's kind of useful. I'm just glad you're not tied to just cloud in the open world.

I'm counting down the days till Final Fantasy VII Rebirth officially releases.
Played the original in 1997, decades ago. It's gonna be wild to experience the remake in all it's glory. I'm tempted to buy a PS5 ONLY for this game, as I already have a fancy gaming rig. But waiting a whole year for the PC version is torture.
I would be thrilled if they could add a 40fps mode to the game. 60fps mode looks fine in smaller areas, but the resolution takes a pretty big hit in the wider open areas. I know Square has implemented 40fps mode in other titles, and I think it would be the perfect middle ground for this game on PS5.
Chrono Trigger would fit so well to a gameplay like this. And being a time travel game would be possible to double the game endings while keeping the originals.. that would be amazing

I just got my ps5, doing the transfer and all the set up. Getting the free upgrade from ps4 to ps5 version got me excited to play again and continue.

Those remakes probably won’t be anywhere near the scale of FF7 but it will be cool to relive those games once more. Also hope the X remake paves the way for a Final Fantasy X-3

The last thing we need is more remakes like the ff7 remake project. This level of ambition in a remake is unsustainable.
It's even been said that 6 would take 20 years to get a remake like 7. I can only imagine with 9 and 10. Ff7 is the only one that's a big enough franchise on its own to make a project like that worth the money. Not only that but more remakes would be detrimental to the series. Half of the AAA final fantasy games we're getting right now are part of the 7 remake project.
If this continues to 6, 9, or 10 then that will be the reality for square for the next 50 years at least. I'd rather this 7 remake run it's course and we move on rather than making them do another remake or 10-3 or something. We haven't gotten a original final fantasy from this dev team since 13.
