This has one of the most original science fiction concepts I've seen in SCP, and also, the concept of a neural interface that runs on dial-up is hilarious. Definitely a winner for me!

I love the "bullets remaining: 00" thing, because imagining what it _could_ mean is so much funnier.
Initially you think it's copying videogames, and maybe it's _trying_ to, but it doesn't understand what ammo counters are, and thinks it's just some text that humans like seeing in the bottom right.
Second possibility - it _can_ go up, but only for an ultra-specific type of ammunition, possibly even ammo that only exists on the probe maker's homeworld.
But by far the best interpretation, i think, is that it's a counter for how many bullets "remain" _inside_ the user, lmao. Like, if you got shot, the counter would go up by 1, and when a surgeon removes it, it goes back down to 0. It might go up if someone were to ingest a bullet, too.
It's so much better that they _don't_ explain it, though.

someone else posted this and it is definitely true, but someone created this based on SCP-447 (which is itself, not very interesting imo). Probably listened to SCP-447 and then created this idea of, what if this came from an alien world? and SCP-447, which always exudes a green, nutritive multi-purpose slime, is a component of alien technologies, where it's converted into nutrient cubes to be given to humans, converted into unbreakable polymer plastics and coatings, etc
SCP-447 also revolves around this idea that despite being an infinite source of food and incredibly useful in many ways, it absolutely can not ever come into contact with a dead body, or [REDACTED]. It's apparently very bad, and nobody is allowed to even inquire about what [REDACTED] is, lest they be demoted to D class.
This SCP said that replication of the polymer was aborted because it "cannot under any circumstances [REDACTED]" (redacted is come into contact with dead bodies).
And the probe that feeds people the green cubes, asks people if they're dying, and kicks them out if they answer yes.
makes me feel like this poster who mentioned the SCP-447 connection must be right, these probes are technologies that take advantage of SCP-447s, whatever they are.
or, SCP-447s are just components manufactured by alien tech to be used in these probes, and maybe a probe somewhere broke and the only recovered bit just happened to be the weird sphere inside that manufactures the unrefined green substance, which it uses for a multitude of purposes to achieve it's difficult-to-grasp goal

That interview with 2005-C... I swear, I thought for a few moments that it was paraphrasing Starman by Bowie. Had to check. By some oddity of omission, Bowie was less effusive about the library system, but I'll forgive him that.

So basically, these guys are Thermians from Galaxy Quest, except they see our (science) fiction literature as not only “historical documents”, but also “prophetic documents”.
So when they see floor-to-ceiling tv screens & Bluetooth earphones, they wonder why our firemen aren’t burning books (Fahrenheit 451); or they see our automatic sliding doors & flip-cellphones, and wonder why we haven’t experienced WW3 yet (Star Trek).
    Poor guys. 😅

I really wish people would take it easy with the vocal distortion when SCP are speaking. I could barely understand this one, and it was easy compared to how this channel portrays the Hard to Destroy Reptile. Which is like a Charlie Brown adult pitch shifted down so far it starts coming through the subwoofer.

  • @micheljavert5923

Admittedly, if I saw an adult-sized zeppelin using a mop, I would be completely convinced that everything was perfectly normal😆 Seriously though, I'm not sure why these probes are being treated as anomalies that need to be locked away. They're just space probes from an apparently neutral (if not friendly) exo-civ that's working within the bounds of the lightspeed limit. That's about as normal as it gets.
