  • MAGPUPUNGKO Rock pools- ( pungko- a local term of squat or sitting down) because of its amazing gigantic rock that is like squatting on each other. It is really wonderful how God made them all.
SUGBA LAGOON- The lagoon is said to have gotten its name from the Visayan word Sugba meaning to grill about the smoke seemingly coming off the lagoon when it is covered with fog.
The first recorded sighting by Europeans of Siargao Island was by Spanish navigator Bernardo de la Torre on board the carrack San Juan de Letrán in 1543 when attempting to return from Sarangani to New Spain.
