Today I'm looking at all 22 eyeshadow palettes I tried in 2022 and ranking them from the WORST to the BEST and everything in between!

I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

I did really good this year. The only eyeshadow palette I purchased was Kaleidos’ Cold Brew. I was tempted to get a few others but kept reminding myself that I had over 40 eyeshadow palettes. I’m down to 37 and my goal for 2023 is to continue reducing the amount of make-up I have and to buy less in the new year.
I finally bought the mothership X.. those 40% off was definitely necessary for me to justify the splurge. I'm really excited to get my first PMG product.

Yes! Called it on the top 4, but I lost points for forgetting the ND Dream Palette! You’re in trouble though, Charlotte, because now I want it! As well as the Lisa Eldridge Vega Palette 😅! My palettes of the year: 5- ND pastel 4-Anastasia: Nouveau palette 3- Lisa E. Sorcery 2- Vega 1- Myth Very surprising for me as I am a neutraliser tunes lover and have pink, red and orange eye shows but Myth with Brown eyes is so stunning! I replacer the mauve colour by a Grey Tone and the palette is perfection to me! I was amazed of th blue violet colour! Stunning!
I got all five of Lisa’s palettes! Call me crazy, but I love them! I also got the two Natasha palettes and Mothership 10 and the two Bridgerton palettes!!!
I love your voice and I fell asleep last night watching this lol 😂 so I came back today. Perfect. I agree with your selection I feel the PM palettes I was expecting to be on the top top winners. Those eyeshadow have something so magical and unique to them ! My favorite palette of the year was the Huda Beauty empowered one
I must admit that your Top 5 held no surprises for me 😂. I recently saw the PML Mothership X in person at my Sephora. That VR Sextacy shade 😱. It literally made me gasp when I swatched it.
I'm surprised that the Nars Climax palette didn't make it into your Top 22.
I purchased it after watching your video and it doesn't disappoint.

It may be because I think Charlotte bought that palette in 2020 or 2021? 1. Like you I bought after the video and thrilled I was able to ger it as limited edition. So easy to blend on my more mature eyes too
I believe it was part of the Fall 2021 collection release. This video is ranking 22 from 2022. I see why you like it, it looks like something I’d enjoy too.

Yes! The Vega palette. Really surprised me. I really love it! For me, it is very unique. I didn’t think this would work on me, but it, it really does. Beautiful formula.

Pat and Lisa sure took home best-in-show awards this year! I would have ranked the ABH palette a bit higher. I find it to be very user friendly and versatile for fresh everyday looks.

This was a fantastic video! I am ecstatic because I just got the Mothership X in the mail today!! I haven’t even used it yet and came across this video. When you said that was your number one I wanted to jump up and down lol. Your eye makeup in this video is stunning. Do you have another video of how you did your eye makeup with that palette?
Mine as of today is Vega. Like you, I am amazed at how versatile and beautiful that little, ordinary looking color story is. But.... Moonlit Seduction arrived this afternoon. I have ummed and ahhed on this one since launch having lost my love of the PMG brand, but couldn't resist it with 40% off! I plan to try it tomorrow, I swatched every shade and am excited to see what I do with it. So who knows, Vega might be knocked off top spot right at the last minute!!

I definitely knew which palettes would be your top 5, and strongly suspected Mothership X would be number 1. I thought ND Retro Glam would rank above her other palette, because it’s more unique and interesting.
I bought the moonlit seduction for Black Friday. Even though I only have it a few weeks, I absolutely love it. And it didn't even grab my attention when it was released. There's something special with Pat's palettes that you only experience once you use them.
Interesting to see your ranking! It would be even better if you could insert eyeshadow looks you've done with them before for reference
Wonderful video … Charlotte Tilbury is more accessible for me and l have bought Bobbi Brown and Bareminerals this Christmas.
I wonder if you could do videos on these types of products which would be so helpful ( at least for me !)

Great round up! I love the ND Dream Palette and LE Vega. I think if we could only have two palettes, those two would cover all bases. That said, Mothership X looks gorgeous, and I’ve just ordered it as a birthday treat to myself. Thanks for your videos Charlotte, they are such a joy to watch. I knew you were going to choose the PMG mothership! My favourite palette this year was the Chanel imaginaire quad, the Chanel Mediterranean quad, the Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk dreams and the chantecaille giraffe eye quartet. ❤
Number one was not a surprise. It’s been my number one too, I’ve used it most days since I got it. I do need to get the 2 Lisa Eldridge palettes when they’re back in stock, I’ve heard so many good things. Happy New Year!! Xx

Just perfect, Charlotte! I did guess the X palette, but I had forgotten about several of the others. One of my favorites was the ABH Rose Metals palette, in addition to the Nouveau. I was just as excited that she didn’t use a nasty velour-feeling cover this time as I was about the color stories! 😂

I went kind of palette crazy in 2021 so only bought 1, yes, I know, I can’t believe it either, only 1 in 2022. One of my favourite brands, Oden’s Eye Christmas palette. I love their formulas and the colours are spectacular. Would love to see you try their shadows.
I got a few PML palettes and the cool tone holiday quint which I adore. Same with ND the palettes I got are stunning I’m so happy to have them in my collection. Loved this countdown! It made me feel even better about my investments this year! PML Moonlit seduction and the holiday quints, ND Dream Palette, and the one I said “no” to….and held strong, the Lisa Eldridge launch. That is, until the reviews rolled in. I bought not only Vega but Myth! Since they arrived, I have worn nothing else. I love my collection (and include the Kaleidos Flowing Haze - not in your list) and feel I need nothing more in 2023! (Famous last words…lol)

I loved the ND my dream palette best this year!!! Mothership X is not my favorite - the mattes are a bit patchy on me and I would have preferred more browns rather than burgundy… however the special shades are her best ever!!
I'm so wanting the Vega palette yet it's been out for weeks now.... hope they restock

This year had some pretty good releases. My favourite was the Natasha Denona my dream palette, it suits me skin tone a lot so I like using it.
I just have to share that I think the Retro Glam pallet is somewhat off putting to me. Never going to get it. But in my list I would have had ABH’s Rose Metals - such a well curated collection of smokey colors that all look good on me which is not usually the case - just love it!
Yes! That Rose Metals palette just sucked me in, and I love it!!
I feel like my next ones will be Lisa Eldridge palettes. Maybe not all of them but I’ll have to choose but that will be difficult. I only bought one this year which was the ethereal palette but I was late in the game with it so I’ve only used it twice. I got it in the restock. I was really strict with myself. I could have bought way more. I really wanted the Mel bundle.
Out of these, I only have CT Dreams, and it is 😍 I’m hoping to pick up Vega next year, but otherwise, trying to avoid buying more palettes as I’ve been leaning towards one and done cream shadow looks.

I was so drawn to Sorcery and I think the FOMO got me big time. Turns out Myth has my heart instead and will try and rehome Sorcery. I think I will be needing that ND dream palette though 😍
If you don’t want your Sorcery I can happily and humbly home it if you don’t think you will use it. I can pay for the shipping costs 😍 It will feel amazing to use it second hand and do a bit of a sustainable effort.

Oh my god, I just counted my eye palette I bought this year and they are 16!! Most of them are quad, but... OMG. I really need to go to a low or no-buy next year. My favourite of all of them is probably the smoky quartz by TF because I wear and love very understated and simple looks on my eyes
I love that pallet also for the same reason. You probably would like the new Burberry pallet. Understated elegance.
Those Chanel quads remind me of Avon quads…. Exact same packaging, and even color stories are very similar

I don’t own one high end eyeshadow palette. I want to buy one, but I don’t know which one should be my first purchase! I want to make sure I don’t regret it, spending a lot of money on an eyeshadow palette…because it really will be a financial splurge for my budget. What palette should be my *first* purchase? I like the same colors you like…grays, cool tones, rosy tones, pinks, browns and neutrals. I don’t care for bright colors. I like muted colors, shimmers, and mattes. Soooo which palette (under $100) would I absolutely love, use all the time, and not regret? ☺️ 🙏🏼

You know, it’s odd to me that there are a good number of RUclipsr makeup gurus that are bashing lisa eldridge eyeshadows…..so much so that I was afraid of them and returned 😢 I should’ve kept them!!
But for a few you ladies, I see that these eyeshadows end up on these 2022 eye palette top 5!

I’m hoping one of these brands will bring out a blue or green color pallet with matts and satins and end the nudes! So many of these, which I have, look the same.
I definitely agree with your top two but I love the Pat McGrath bronze bliss quint so would rank higher for me. Great video I loved your experiences of each and everyone of them. I think I need to pick up the Natasha Denona My Dream Pallette because it looks right up my street xxx

The Nouveau palette was mentioned. I thought the ABH Rose Metals would be there, though. Now I’m trying to remember if she ever reviewed that particular one!
My eyeshadow collection is mostly bonkers/statement I suppose, or my neutral palettes are quite big (eg Biba), so I actually thought the Nars Unrated was great to stick in my everyday basket. Tbf though, I basically got it free because work gave us vouchers for Xmas, otherwise I'm not sure I would have.. Pleasant surprise workhorse palette is what I'm saying I guess :) (and don't come for me but I actually like it more than that small red Nars palette with the autumnal greens that I thought I'd love for sure o.O)

Yep, Mothership X is definitely my palette of the year. 2022 was a low buy year for me so I only bought 5 palettes and I would rank them as follows:
5. ND Mini Biba (maybe this came out last year but I only tried it this year)
4. ND My Dream Palette
3. CT Pillow Talk Dreams

1. Pat Mothership X
However, I do love all of them and all except the ND My Dream Palette have had loads of use. I definitely need to spend more time playing around with that one! Have a great NYE, Charlotte! xx
