Looks like she slams a fair bit, doesn't really cut through the waves, just hits em. I think I'll keep my $1.3m for just now until something better comes along! =D
I liked the style, it had a reasonable flare that the boat driver didn’t know how to use. It needed more trim to get bow up, so the hull could land on top of the wave and push water aside. Boat driver aka steering wheel holder, was plowing into waves, coming off of one wave with the bow pitched down and stuffing it into the next wave, that was above the bow deck. Poorly demonstrated for a boat in that $$$ class, to very picky clients.
These hull shapes also like the vanquish seem like they slap alot ,or plow through the waves Which if in a sealed cabin would be good. Hard to really know without being on it.

The SAY 42 was sorely in need of a better captain. The Pershing went through pretty smooth all the way ! But the best part is the drone shots, I love that you have both ground and air shots, because it looks totally different from the air ! Good goin' Wavy ! 👍 🇨🇦 ✌️
straight lines might look pretty, but need some flair on that bow to push the water away from the hull. and a straight up instead of a point not the best design. Look how far out a Fountain nose points.
@Nomen Clature Alot of the shrimpers around here are the same (Straight up and down) but those are Displacement hulls used for long haul fishing. The hull shape for plane boats usually need something more pointed. He has a displacement front end and he is trying to use it as a plane. doesn't always work.
I’ve sailed for 35 years in many sea states. When I look at the conditions these boats go out in I simply ask why. Not so much because of danger, which I rarely see here, but just because it doesn’t look fun.
I have the same thoughts. I was raised in the Catalina Channel and have owned a boat since I was 8 years old. I don't see this type of boating enjoyable.
Fantastic drone shots mate! Congrats on keeping the boat within frame despite the wind and boat movement! You are becoming a true expert in these shots! Wow
SAY 42 has to go back to the hull design team. It dropped its bow off every wave. Now the Apache could not get much better- amazing rough water design. Great drone footage.
Yeah, I wouldn't be happy with that thing. It sliced deep into the waves. Either it's not designed for rough water and any sort of speed (but why give it that low swept windshield then) or it's just a crappy design.
Don’t forget the SAY was doing maybe 20 knots compared to the Apache doing 5 or 6 knots at the mouth of the inlet. Of course at those speeds there will be marked differences in the way the two vessels perform in steep sloppy white cap conditions.
That Pershing 5x was down right impressive, my favorite in this video. I also noticed that Vanquish was a dry ride, such a solid boat, i like that one too.
Something real miami vice about those drone shots of the apache boat and to think back in the day they had to use helicopters to get those kind of shots.
I liked that first boat hull design. I'm guessing that the builder had many hrs on a computer doing fluid dynamic testing. The way it cut thru the chop and rolled the water forward was impressive. Respect !
@@vannigiovannigio8861 ☑️ I agree! I don't know the technical term for it, but the tip of the bow is angled almost vertical, instead of being raked back and downward(like 99% of boats), which seems to result in more water being tossed upward over the bow and into the seating area.
The balance of the Apache is phenominal. It stayed up on plane & stable, with what appears to be a very dry ride impressive. As for your mystery boat, it appears to be an early 90's SeaRay Express or Sundancer. No way to tell from the outside of the hull, as they are the same. The difference is in engine placement & straight vs. V - drives. Most definately not a factory paint job.

Very smooth.
Seems to me that the Say42 makes for an excellent submarine. Its not only the bad captains fault, the hull design needs to be tweaked, its got too little buoyance in the bows as it is now. Could also do with a spray rail or two above the waterline.
No kidding. What kind of morons buy boats with nothing to deflect water from the forward deck, and then take them into open water? "A fool and his money..."
Meh, I'm going to go with trendy "wave piercing" hull design makes for a wet ride. And maneuvering to the sides of the inlet doesn't showcase how the vessel does in heavy seas, which is what I think they wanted to see. So, it "pierced" those waves just like it was supposed to, the only question is why you would want a pleasure boat to do that. And I can only imagine those passengers in the rear that were getting their eyelids pealed back by all that cold ass salt water slapping them in the chest and face were wondering the same thing. 😃

Great job on the drone footage! Keeping the boat in frame from different angles, especially as it accelerates outside the inlet, isn't easy! Impressive and fun.
I've finally found something in the Midnight Express price bracket that handles a head sea even worse than they do. I can't believe they were treating that first boat shown the way they were I guess they didn't have to work that hard to buy it or maybe they're just idiots but this channel is freaking entertaining and I hate water and I don't own a boat and I never will and I love this channel for no reason at all and that's good enough for me just like my mother used to say okay maybe not by now bye-bye bye-bye
Could have been performing sea trials on a new design.
That bronze color boat might wanna check for cracks.
