My family and I just came back from a catamaran charter in the BVI. We went end of June. This was the best vacation we have ever been on. It was really neat to sail around and visit parts of the BVI only accessible by boat. I highly recommend getting a captain and a chef. The bareboat charters were fun to watch at each stop chasing mooring balls and such. Our catamaran was really nice and ac. We were there for 7 days and had a chef and captain half board for 9k for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Wiley Sharp Catamaran Expert her name was Knot Anchored. Not sure how old the boat was but it definitely met our needs. Vacationing on a catamaran is a whole different perspective. I can't wait until we are able to do it again.

We used a charter broker for a charter we did out of Croatia last year. This was the best decision we could have made. They managed the entire process, organized an outstanding skipper, handled all the paper work, and answered all our questions. We were fully prepared for the week long charter. Further, we did have one issue with the company that had the boat under charter and the Broker stepped in and took care of it. Highly recommend anyone new to charter or that does not have experience with a particular company to go through a Broker.

Great idea for a series! Looking forward to watching the whole series. A thought, my husband and I are new to the possibilities of chartering, it would be great to see more video on the chartering possibilities while you are both talking. This will educate those of us that are new to the thought of chartering whether it's securing a charter or chartering our own boat... Thanks!

Awesome and very informative video. I will be looking forward to more videos on the subject. Considering my last year Disney trip for 8 days cost me almost 10k, the price for an awesome Caribbean catamaran trip for 20k doesn’t seem out of bounds

Thank you for doing this series. Would your wife do a 6th episode answering some of the questions she receives? My guess is she’ll get a lot of the same type questions and answering them on video may help us all out. Thanks!

Laura Jagielski do you organize charters without crews or are they all crewed charters?

Wiley; I already forwarded this one to a friend so we can set up a time frame for some island time and your wife is at the top of my Charter list now. Our last cruise was two weeks Australia to Singapore (Great time) Since we live in Thailand the Caribbean is a exotic destination for us!

Any suggestions for training type charters? Hoping to learn as much as possible during a 2 week vacation, but also want to feel like I'm still on vacation.

But Blah Blah Blah. Want to take the boat out on your own? Want counts is time on the water as skipper. Period. There is no such thing as a bareboat "certification." Your experience in your logbook will either let you rent a boat or not. The charter company wants to see how much time you have as skipper. There is a great amount of lying and resume inflation on the charter company qualification forms; how else do you think all those drunk yokels you see on the water get to skipper a boat?

Man... You seem like an angry person... You should charter a boat, have a rum punch, and chill out ;)

@@catamarancentral Blah Blah Blah Prefer Whisky Sours Doesn't change a thing. Why not YOU work with the insurance company(s) to come up with a way for zero or low timers who don't wish to lie on the resume to skipper a boat? BlahBlahBlah
