Radios - Transmission Technique #7 😂 During my basic military training with the 🇩🇪German Army🇩🇪 there was a simple phrase, only consisting of three words, that covered the fundamentals of radio comms: Denken -> Drücken - > Sprechen which (analogous) means: Think -> Push -> Speak 1) Think about what you want to express / you are going to say 2) THEN push the comms button 3) THEN speak / express yourself clearly Pretty simple... Pretty necessary... 😉 Cheers!
Note that given meanings here for BREAK and CONTACT differ substantially from their meanings as NATO brevity codes. If someone says BREAK, are they observing the niceties of radio protocol, or telling you (e.g.) to evade a missile? It does rather matter.
Caps, maybe it would be a great idea to have the guys have a test like... say... you give them a hypothetical situation and they have to give the proper radio response/input. then youre gonna rate their promptness and observance of brevity etc etc
"Copy" is typically used to acknowledge information, for example Wilco means Will Comply (will do what was told) but if you're just being given coordinates where friendlies are likely to be, it's just an FYI so you'd say "Copy" or "Copy that". I'm sure there's variations depending on country and if it's military or civilian radio channels.
Then please follow your own advise. Blood, you are the worse with talking over people to just show off your knowledge. You are the biggest offender at this.

Good video. Informative and fun.
Your comment about number 7 is critical. It’s a “push to talk button”, not a “push to think out-loud button”.
