How lucky you are to live in such a wonderful spot. It's simply breathtaking. Thank you for taking us with you and showing us around your sylvan idyll.
What a great peaceful looking property you and your wife have bought. I hope you both have many years together to enjoy it. Looks like all the doors in your house are in good shape.
@@susanhamilton1822 I think it also shows that you appreciate nature and that you are connected to it. Something I fear many people are losing. And if you are no longer connected to nature, then it has no value for you. I think this causes a lot of nature to disappear instead of people doing their best to protect it.
That first big pine, what an old giant, must be +200 years old... So sad to see the clearcut behind your house! But a very nice property, and you seem to relish the "old ways" and I think you have found your "Eden".
I was told the pine is probably 700-800 years old. It is the largest Pine in the Province. It has a breast height diameter of 103 cm. As the winters are long and cold, they don't grow as fast. The clearcut was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. If they would only leave every 10th or 15th tree on the plot, it would have been a lot less worse and probably a lot better for the regrowth too.
Thank you for another wonderful experience 🦋 A fellow tree lover and petter of cats. Such beautiful scenes and voice overs ~ good humour too! I am currently making plans of selling my houseboat & moving home to Sweden after 27 years in the UK. The forest and the lakes are calling ✨

@@noorderling I don't know how it is in Sweden, I'm Norwegian so I imagine its pretty much the same "in the east". When we cut the forest nowadays we always leave some trees as seeders. The lumberers back then decided to leave this lovely tree as a seeder. I imagine the next crew many years from now will do the same thing. There might also be laws preventing the cutting of old trees. In Oslo (my home city in Norway) there are laws. The problem is that the f*ers that fell these 2-3-400 year old trees only get a fine. Nice piece of heaven you’ve found there. Just a friendly advice that in Sweden you are required by law to get approval before sharing aerial photos and videos of Sweden on the internet. It doesn’t cost anything but every piece of drone footage needs to be uploaded to Lantmäteriet’s website for approval. I think the risk of being caught is minimal but there are hefty fines if you share unapproved footage online. Welcome to Sweden 😂😊

My mom has a wooden stove. It’s not illegal. However you need to have it inspected every other year or so to make sure it’s safe to use. I don’t think it’s illegal not to be connected to the grid. However there are rules regarding water from showers and washing that it needs to be filtered before released into the ground. It’s not as harsh as for water from a toilet but you technically can’t release water from showering or doing dishes directly into the ground.
