I've been listening to Cody for a few years now (he's been a massive writing inspiration) but missed this song. I discovered it back in August just when my 7 year relationship came to a screeching end. Listening to it now, I remember sitting in my driveway in my car listening to this song and crying. The last verse hits me so goddamn hard. "I'm alone now, on the go-round. I broke down slow when I pulled my soul out, for sold out shows full of ghosts of old doubts and profound hopes that I don't control now. I know...somebody come and set me free, from a sea of an undetected grief. Some things that you love are meant to be, bleeding hearts run out of blood eventually. So we can call it my atonement---a message in a bottle that I wanted you to open. It's a poem of sorrowful devotion that I left for you at the bottom of the ocean." Fuck. (don't hate me if I fucked up the lyrics, did it from memory)
this one has similar meaning to me brother, sadistik and some others have helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. going through one of those times right now, been listening to this a lot lately. that last verse really does hit home. hope you're doing well now.
I go home every single day, and I listen to your stuff, all night. I find a safe place to hide away from all the bad that is in this world, I suddenly feel like my problems are gone, but I wake up the next day and feel worse, But I repeat the process and by the end of the week I can actually see the colour in a world that is filled with grey. Thank you.
Been listening to Sad Vicious since 2010. My buddy Jake introduced me to the whole Rhymesayers crew. I haven't seen or heard from him since 2012. Wherever you are JCLD, I miss you man. Thank you
I think from 2012-2014 Sadistik was the best rapper on the planet. Flowers For My father is a biblical album. Ultraviolet was also amazing but the albums after that he had a slightly different more airy and spaced out vocal approach which I think is a shame as his variety in delivery between each individual sentence and even word was possibly the thing he was best at (this song alone has countless examples of it), he really brought a feeling of poetry and emotion to rap that nobody had before.
This is what it's like to taste the heavens and dismiss the grace Another year, another fake expression in the picture frame , Another birthday wish, and still it didn't change A lap around the sun never took me to a different place, Sadistik, those bars give me chills everytime...Your lyricism is very perfected. I love your work so much, i'm a huge fan from Australia. Peace
i just read the story of virginia woolf and now that i can understand the lyrics' meanning and its conection with the story, the song is on the 6th repeat.. thank you for this song. Huge fan of andreikelos too
i love your music. i am from seattle and fell like i can relate to alot of your songs. they have helped me get thru alot of hard times, and i thank you for that. keep up the good work i will always listen to your music and look forward to what comes next
Sadistik you are a genius and inspire my writing and style on the mic quite a bit. Thank you for all your tracks. I even got my brother who doesn't like rap addicted to your tracks. :P Never stop doing your thing!
I've been listening to you for a while, and you've come a long way man. I always find your lyrics inspiring, and I can empathize with them in my darkest moments. Hopefully you start getting more of what you deserve out of this world, but that probably won't destroy your source of inspiration. Stay alive man, there are tons of fans who find that your words resonate with what they feel deeper down. I can speak for at least one of them.
i just read the story of virginia woolf and now that i can understand the lyrics' meanning and its conection with the story, the song is on the 6th repeat.. thank you for this song.
Havnt heard a new song for ever from him, till this one yesterday, sadistik has a talent, anyone else feel something when u listen to him.! Ps. He got a website with newer music and is hype as fuk
Amazing amount of meaning in every lyric. We probably couldn't hope to understand every single detail. You're certainly a talented individual. I suppose you've been told that enough though.
hello... do you think that going to college made you a better rapper? Most of my favorite rapper speak of going to college or have been to college, not saying its the gateway to becoming talented and its not going to take hard work on your own but it seems they just have more talent, im using my little brothers sn were i post all the crap songs that i dont want to have under my name but ive been on a three year mission the be happy with my material and i need advice from and expert like you
I let the light sink inside my skin just so I can breathe again Balancing the weight between creepy and obsessive The world of the weight's on my back, backwards, wait Words back me in a way, I need to be accepted Everything is relative, the world is full of skeletons Dancing to the rhythm to pretend that they’re alive But I don’t got a bone to pick especially when they’re broke and hit The funny one, it’s cumbersome to wonder why they try A fifth in my right hand, quarters in my left Until my half-life is a hole inside my chest If I sit and listen with this individual diction Is it indiscriminant or just a symptom of the sickness? Or a metaphor of change? To break a dollar, people write their letters for a chain I’d rather write a chain letter, it’s better for the pain And the people in my life that always said I was insane I’ll throw a noose around the sun and be the pendulum Tick-tock, tick-tock, I’ll wait until the medics come I’ll be so high and so bright that if you want me back You’ll have to sit and watch the setting sun Bring my body to the ground Before they catch a breath they’ll be calling it profound Martyrdom for beauty’s sake, decorates the landscape As everybody’s hands shake from quality they found This is what it’s like to taste the Heavens and dismiss the grace Another year, another fake expression in a picture frame Another birthday wish and still it didn’t change A lap around the sun never took me to a different place But I have to keep floating Until I meet Virginia Woolf trapped in sheep’s clothing I could be the stones in her pockets when we walk in To the ocean and marvel at the coast until we sink (Verse 2) And as her lungs filled with water She watched the sun spill across her Until the mud filled her armor Sea shells spelled “Our love still will conquer” Nope, bubbles rose to the surface Anchored down where the stones and the dirt live Taste the ground that she chose to submerge in “Oh, Vir-gin-ia Woolf, don’t be ner-vous” (No) With all the medicine, your head you said has driven you to go And follow sadness, left for dead instead I’m diggin’ up your bones They’re all intact and set up when I get to give ‘em all a home An artifact that’s Heaven-sent, I get to visit on my own I’m alone now on the go-round That broke down slow when I pulled my soul out For sold-out shows full of ghosts of old doubts And profound hopes that I don’t control now I know, somebody come and set me free From the sea of an undetected grief Some things that you love aren’t meant to be Bleeding hearts run out of blood eventually So we can call her my atonement A message in a bottle that I wanted you to open It’s a poem, a sorrowful devotion That I left for you at the bottom of the ocean Virginia
You intentionally took some of the worst lines from a Nicki Minaj song and compared them to Sadistik. If you want to form an actual argument against her/for Sadistik then that isn't fair at all.
I know most comment's asking people to check out their music just lead to wack shit but if you support underground hip hop then i'd appreciate it if you checked out my channel or dont and give me a thumbs down, either way lol
2024 still is better than any can create these days, lyrical genius
Nope. This is just a freebie for the people who have waited patiently. The album is better.
This is one of my favorite you ever put out

Dude, there is nothing like you.
Any chance of some lyrics getting posted with the video?
I let the light sink inside my skin just so I can breathe again
Balancing the weight between creepy and obsessive
The world of the weight's on my back, backwards, wait
Words back me in a way, I need to be accepted
Everything is relative, the world is full of skeletons
Dancing to the rhythm to pretend that they’re alive
But I don’t got a bone to pick especially when they’re broke and hit
The funny one, it’s cumbersome to wonder why they try
A fifth in my right hand, quarters in my left
Until my half-life is a hole inside my chest
If I sit and listen with this individual diction
Is it indiscriminant or just a symptom of the sickness?
Or a metaphor of change?
To break a dollar, people write their letters for a chain
I’d rather write a chain letter, it’s better for the pain
And the people in my life that always said I was insane
I’ll throw a noose around the sun and be the pendulum
Tick-tock, tick-tock, I’ll wait until the medics come
I’ll be so high and so bright that if you want me back
You’ll have to sit and watch the setting sun
Bring my body to the ground
Before they catch a breath they’ll be calling it profound
Martyrdom for beauty’s sake, decorates the landscape
As everybody’s hands shake from quality they found
This is what it’s like to taste the Heavens and dismiss the grace
Another year, another fake expression in a picture frame
Another birthday wish and still it didn’t change
A lap around the sun never took me to a different place
But I have to keep floating
Until I meet Virginia Woolf trapped in sheep’s clothing
I could be the stones in her pockets when we walk in
To the ocean and marvel at the coast until we sink
(Verse 2)
And as her lungs filled with water
She watched the sun spill across her
Until the mud filled her armor
Sea shells spelled “Our love still will conquer”
Nope, bubbles rose to the surface
Anchored down where the stones and the dirt live
Taste the ground that she chose to submerge in
“Oh, Vir-gin-ia Woolf, don’t be ner-vous”
(No) With all the medicine, your head you said has driven you to go
And follow sadness, left for dead instead I’m diggin’ up your bones
They’re all intact and set up when I get to give ‘em all a home
An artifact that’s Heaven-sent, I get to visit on my own
I’m alone now on the go-round
That broke down slow when I pulled my soul out
For sold-out shows full of ghosts of old doubts
And profound hopes that I don’t control now
I know, somebody come and set me free
From the sea of an undetected grief
Some things that you love aren’t meant to be
Bleeding hearts run out of blood eventually
So we can call her my atonement
A message in a bottle that I wanted you to open
It’s a poem, a sorrowful devotion
That I left for you at the bottom of the ocean
Virginia
just for you buddy.
So this is song from upcoming album or what?
🖤
Wow dude
Reminds me of Eyedea circa Oliver Hart
That last verse struck a chord in me

WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED THIS!?!? SHOW YOURSELF!!!
15 people that never looked for the answer at the bottom of a bottle or a song on the internet.
Oh shit, this is quite confusing. Very nice song.
Google remembered me this song, it says it's the 136 Birthday of Virginia Woolf so I had to come to the song.
who the fuck thumbed this down? lol
Random, but are you a scorpio?
Jordan Connolly he's a Taurus. But eyedea was a scorpio.
Looked up the woman that inspired this track. All I can say is "...damn. :/"

Man back when people didn't know how to reply to each other 😂😂😂
@@atomicalien4 Turns out the Internet wasn't just a fad, so I've learnt how to use it now.
I know most comment's asking people to check out their music just lead to wack shit but if you support underground hip hop then i'd appreciate it if you checked out my channel or dont and give me a thumbs down, either way lol
Well true, i took her worse. but on the other hand.. when did you ever need a dictionary with her lyrical "masterpieces" ?
Virginia Woolf is dead.
Can you stop making other rappers look bad please?
haha
