@ 5:33 "listen up now" this is pure GOLD and has increased my success and progress beyond my wildest dreams - all thanks to Claus's course directions
Very good advice. I learned the natural minor before I learned pentatonic scale. Then I learned all the other scales, even the crazy ones. I realised that they were all so similar. That’s when I was turned on to the modes, and that opened everything up.
So great to be able to benefit from your long history of learning and the "mistakes" you have made.
Your perspective on learning to play, building on top of what you've already learned, feels so inherently true as a universal principle. All the practicing exercises I've been doing over the years have always felt so disconnected. You pretty much connected the dots as to why it feels that way to me in this video! Thanks!
Thanks. Wish you had given an example for all the tips you say here. A demonstration, I meant.
Wow. I never thought about it this way. Love the idea of just adding a little bit to what i know
Yes Claus! This idea was hard for me to grasp but I did your fretboard freedom course and it changed my whole view of the fretboard. Should be a foundational course for all players!
Thanks, Claus, that was ingenious.
Best guitar teacher 🎸🔥
Exactly!
i shift in and out of dorian when i need to play more than two notes per string over a minor chord in a pentatonic context. works nicely most of the time, though the sixth and ninth do sometimes take the edge off the sound, so i might replace one of them with a flat 5 or something
