They really were... SAG is lucky to have a solid ambassador for their position in the industry and to have a widely recognized artist stick up for the 95% of actors that make everything we watch possible but aren't making breaking bad money.
nah. this is the perfect time for a reset. fire every single one of these talentless writers and replace them with people who can write an original story.
Do artists get paid every time their art is resold? Do construction workers get paid every time a house is resold or whenever a stadium hosts an event? There's tons of industries that pay for a service and then continue to make money off of that service. Why should actors get paid and then continued to get paid for decades after they fulfilled their end of the agreement when literally no other profession does?
This is a deeply ignorant question which seems disingenuous and in bad faith. But incase you're legitimate the following might help. The writer / actors make less upfront with the understanding that they make money down the line. That's no longer happening. And unlike the other industries you mentioned a writer or a lead actor film or show can make millions or billions off a tiny budget. And their contracts say they are meant to get a slice. Furthermore there is an issue with ownership of identity which you've chosen to ignore. And ofcourse the ai issue we all face. And the fact that most of the entertainment industry is making minimum wage while their education and training and housing in some of the most expensive locations on earth isnt being adjusted for. And the fact that 60% are forced to work second jobs outside of the industry to support themselves due to the shortfall. They might not deserve as much as they're asking for but they do deserve more than they're being offered.
Then they should be fighting for better pay up front because the concept of residuals for every actor and background actor, over the course of decades, is ridiculous. Also, most people are forced to work a second job so they aren't any different from the rest of the middle class. If anyone wants that to change, they should be fighting for a UBI and universal healthcare, not begging billionaires for more scraps and trying to hault the progress of technology that would benefit everyone.
Let's not confuse essential workers with any of those in the entertainment world. If your house is on fire or your child gets hurt on the playground or your business gets robbed, you don't call a writer or actor. They are non-essential. People can live without entertainment. The only people that care are the ones that profit from it. It's one of those things that people pay for after the essentials are taken care of. Food, shelter, clothing ect.... We call it expendable income.
I guess one has to take into account the nature of the business and the risk and uncertainty involved in any given production. Let's say you make a movie or TV series. Maybe it will be a hit, maybe it be a flop, but you have no way of knowing for sure. There have been cases of movies that were expected to be huge hits but they flopped terribly. Other productions involved modest expectations for revenue but they turned out to be surprise hits. In this case, it makes more sense to spend a smaller amount up front and pay residual income afterward in accordance with the commercial success of the production. This creates an incentive for everyone to participate in productions that are more likely to be profitable. It's win-win for everyone concerned. Keep in mind as well that movies, TV series, music, books, software, etc. are all forms of intellectual property that can be copyrighted and therefore legally earn royalties or other income. The studios and production companies earn that income, often for many years, and it's only understandable that actors and writers want at least a small piece of that pie.

The wisest thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on the govt. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in Gold, silver and digital currencies(BTC, ETH..).
Same here, I will praise Mrs Jessy Crux over and over again because she has great skills, I started with $2000 and after 2week I received a returns of $6,000 then I continue with her ever since she has been delivering.
Trading with Mrs Jessy Crux was never a regret to me, all thanks to her, she is the best i have ever seen
SHE'S ON TELEGRAMS
@Jessy_Crux
She helped me recover all the losses I incurred from trading on my own.
America misses Stephen Colbert.
Dot dot dot, dot dot, dot…..
Or perhaps Phil Ken Sebben’s:
“Haw-haw! Dangly parts……”
Whos Stephan Colbert?
I wish more useful sectors of society would stand up for themselves too lol
It’s crazy that streaming services can run something indefinitely and not pay the same residuals as broadcast. I’m not all in on every union demand. Auto or actor. But business tactics are out of hand. It’s a free for all for executives and Wall Street. Wishing writers and actors well.
It´s crazy that people can cook in a pan indefinitely and not pay residuals to the blacksmith.
@@theglanconer6463 should executives get paid every time a show or play gets a rerun or replay?.
Pagi Sarapan RUclips from see
Whos going to write the next snow white and the not seven dwarfs. Or the next black mermaid. And by the way the mermaid should have been Asian. Highly offended
Oh great no more woke everyone is a black actor shows, Never got those black Viking actors, historically in correct, ruined the show
I hate woke quoters... imagine them casting white folks as slaves in a " REIMAGINING" of roots or the color purple... don't think so either!!.🤣🤣🤣
the only thing worse than these writers are woke casting. I prefer the most talented get the job, but then again, I'm not a racist liberal.
Anchors away ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️ one day the devil’s 😈railroad cops 🤡🤡🤡🤡 and the shore team 🦾🦾🦾🦾 decide to go to war, ship to shore. What is a railroad cop ? He is the armed and dangerous security of a kid sister dope dealer, a post modernist military procurement officer 🌸🌸🌸🌸 “Captain Howdy” 😈. These sorts all sound the same, in the game.
