Is there a way to automate this process? Instead of doing it one by one?
I only need to do this for active terminated employees
Active will get bonus and merit terminated will not

Thats not working if there are over 1000 staff in the company. Excel formular is suppose to simplify all the procedures, but not revising every formula manually.

True, but hopefully you would not have a scenario where all 1,000 people started during the year or were unpaid for a portion of the year.

Better to create another column for unpaid days and add a condition in the days calculating formula by using the if function with the reference check for unpaid days. This way you don't have to manually enter the formula for all such cases. You can also add a column to determine rehires during a year and then use the IF function to calculate the days.
