    It is interesting to note that not everyone agrees with the use of ESG to drive societal transformation through business, evidenced by the fact that more than half of states have legislation limiting or altogether banning ESG metrics.

    Does everyone agree that businesses are expected to "help solve society's problems" (instead of maintaining a focus on participating in the free and fair exchange of value in the marketplace within the already agreed upon constraints the public has decided through government regulation) since the public loses its voice in those solution choices?
