- Richard is a professor of strategy at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, and the author of The Crux: How Leaders Become Strategists. In this episode of the New Human Movement, we talk to Richard about why most organizations operate with poorly defined and incoherent strategies, and what leaders can do to avoid these pitfalls. According to Richard, corporate strategy isn’t about setting financial targets, statements of desired outcomes, or performance goals; rather, it is about pinpointing the pivotal challenge facing the organization, and taking decisive actions to overcome it.

Fantastic! Could you get Roger L Martin and Rumelt in the same chat? That would be the talk of the decade.
I’ve read Good Strategy Bad Strategy several times! Such a gold mine
Great conversation. Watching more than once. Strategy is continuous problem solving in a journey with temporary roadmaps.
This is a superb video. Rumelt has had a really positive influence on my approach to strategic planning and it is a great pleasure to hear this dialog played out
The CRUX is a great strategy book. I have purchased many copies that I give as a gift to leaders in my country, Indonesia
This is top quality stuff. 🔥
Clearly Gary could see a woman sunbathing in a bikini outside.
