  • A satellite image of what appears to be the U.S. military's prototype unmanned submarine is drawing attention. Dubbed the Manta Ray because of its shape, the image of an underwater drone at a California naval base gives viewers an idea of its sheer size.

No they aren't, you do not understand Naval Designations based off things like the way they Turn and the Sort, so those are Not Ships, certainly not, however they are Not Boats either, they are Canoes, and US Super Carriers are actually Rafts under strict Naval Definitions... You know at some point what's a Ship or a Boat is really dumb, because the way they classify them by the way they turn and the sort, can leave a small craft actually a Ship, and a Large Craft which everyone would think of as a Ship, actually a Boat, but to the Normal Person, the distinctions between the two are a Moot Point, because they just Don't Care, and they are Not Going to Memorize the Differences Between the Two than Appraise something between the Two just to speak because of Nit Picky People like you...

It still needs active propulsion for maneuvering in shallow waters, and doing things like staying in position for underway reloading. However it would do the gliding thing once away from shore which doesn't produce any more noise than that controlling the buoyancy tanks. The gliding is still mostly passive, and a free spinning prop isn't going to cause that much drag or extra noise.

Guys , know that Jesus The Christ Is Love , and Jesus love for all is real and unconditional everything we need is found in Jesus , Jesus said Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Please know that we all must have a relationship with Jesus to know Him , through Salvation Hebrews 2:3
how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. ROMANS 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

That’s a huge mistake that someone probably is getting in trouble for, all satellite images are censored for national security purposes by our government as well as other countries across the world who have satellite programs, the images get censored before being released publicly. Probably the most famous example of this was Pre-War Ukraine and how they censored images of Chernobyl, not so much the nuclear reactors themselves but in the weeks and months after the accident vehicles used on site and even everyday civilian vehicles from the area were all parked in these big fields that looked like giant vehicle salvage yards but the vehicles are all highly radioactive and will be long after they completely rust to bits and turn to dust. So Ukraine censored images showing the locations of these fields in an attempt to stop people from going there taking scrap metal or spare parts for old Soviet Era Vehicles and bringing them back to the population, the steel sold for scrap and remelted would still be radioactive and highly dangerous so they wanted to avoid that as much as possible and that’s why the sites around the Chernobyl incident were censored but other countries do it too and someone dropped the ball letting a satellite image get released, a promotional video authorized for release to what was probably intended to be a smaller audience size is different than satellite imagery that doesn’t get censored before it was released

No doubt tens of millions have been spent yet the Manta Ray is using a primitive old fashioned propeller -at least in the video.. I’m really surprised. There are Other designs that are more efficient, leave a smaller wake, and make less noise. You want very quiet propulsion for defensive purposes and to make it easier to communicate with the Manta via ultrasound.
