I can say with certainty my 1973 100w Marshall Superlead has “it”, the secret sauce is the hand wound, lay down transformer. Bone stock, no mods, just skin peeling headroom. Great channel brother, skol.

I like the 1995 Marshall JTM60 so much. That amp really surprises me how good it sounds.

I have approximately 25 tube amps. Some are vintage Marshalls and Fenders. Call me crazy but my Peavey XXX always surprises visiting guitarists.
The Clean, Crunch and Ultra cover just about any music genre. Not perfect, but incredible value on the used market. And it is powerful enough to push
a 4 x 12 into non-linear territory.
Some "gestures" are universal language, and kids from any country just like to have fun, here and there, everywhere. We cannot blame young kids, they do just what they see. Other than some humor, I swear by the Demeter, I saw the full video and I was amazed. I've been hearing about Demeter amps for quite some years, and their great reputation is backed by some of the best guitar players. Thanks!

Some really super amp demonstrations there Johan, thing is they all have something to offer. So it just goes to show you can never have enough amps. Actually this video would be a very good one to justify to the wife that you need another amp - "listen, dear! See how different they all sound, and you expect me to get by with just three amps?"

Johan- if you ever get to the states, specifically Detroit, I could probably make arrangements / call in a favor with a medium sized venue or my friend's studio and bring a couple of amps for you to check out / run full tilt that I have yet to see on your channel. Far be it for me to tell you how to run your channel, but I think it'd be pretty cool if you came to the states and did a road trip thing. I think there's a lot of viewers over here who are proud of some of the weirder things they've gotten their hands on, and would be more than willing to let you give their amps a go for your channel. Off the top of my head, I have a Pearce G2R and a Red Bear MK120 that I think you'd have a blast with. Some Marshall oddities, too (but you've already covered them all)!

It’s much more difficult to prove that an amp is insufficient than the opposite, since almost all amps have applications where they are great and outperform most other amps

Great video, I enjoyed seeing all these amps back to back and they are all certainly very cool.
I had a question for you, Johan. Do you generally prefer 50 watt Marshalls or 100 watt? What are the things you prefer?
Thanks Johnny, great to hear that. 100W sounds better for powerchords and single notes but for more elaborate stuff 50W compresses a bit more and is a little easier to play

Hi Johan, great video again. I always see a white pedal that I suspect to be a Boss noise gate. Can you let me know what model and if it is a noise gate in fact and what settings works well for you with Marshall. I have a DSL 20 and it is very gainy. I know you demoed it a while ago with the same pedal.

@@JohanSegeborn thank you. I will save you some research. On that first album he used a Gretsch guitar plugged in to a small single ended 5 watt amp and then slaved it into his Marshall stack! That is why there is a very unique distortion sound. No pedals were used. The best Solo sound is best heard on the song "at the gates of cerdes .

to be honest the only one that got it amongst these is the hiwatt followed at some distance by the demeter. maybe it's 'cause of the settings but this is the impression I've got

hi johan .i'm gonna swap the speaker in my 1974x to a celestion alnico not sure which one now that the silver 100 (30w) is out...maybe consider trying one out in a video since most people either can't afford an old greenback or they are intimidated to buy a 50 year old used speaker. thanks !

JTM60 biggest surprise, SLP and 1987 still sounds best, DR103 and OR120 are extra flavours that are necessary. Haven't heard the Legend before, hmm...
