My first unit was a pvs7. It got me into the world of NV and was a great starting point. Sure, there are better options out there and I prefer my binos but I actually miss those 7s!
The pvs7 has a bad rap. They call you poor for having them. My first nvg setup was a pvs7. They work very well. They are underrated for sure. They give you the same superpower as a pvs14 or duels.

Yes and no. Some people get headaches with running a pvs14 because it uses one eye. Those who do get a headache have two options. Buy a dual unit costing over 6k or buy a pvs7 for around 1500.

Just got a pvs7 what mounts did you use for helmet mounting?
Get a Rhino 2 mount. You can find them on eBay. Cost around 75/80 bucks.

Is the on off feature the same on a pvs7 c? I can't get mine to do that when I flip up and down
It depends on the mount. The mount has a magnetic in it that turns the device off. Your mount my not have that.
