Gimmick sleeves are also a great way to identify first-pressings, since the publishers would usually switch to cheaper traditional packaging within a year.
Wow... wonderful stuff! I have those brilliant XTC singles (plus a whole lot more... ) but I've never seen the 7" "Senses" single like that! (I have the 12" version)... That ELUVIUM book looks absolutely insane!! (I've never heard them and now I want that soooo bad!) The Menomena album is almost a perfect package... great music and wonderful packaging. ...and I HAD to get that Guided By Voices "Surgical Focus" single when it came out... wonderful cover for a brilliant song! GREAT STUFF!! Really inspiring! Thank you!
i just started collecting vinyl and literally only do so because of the cover art and package design lol i literally skim thru my box every day just to look at the artwork.
I've been on the lookout for that Dave Mason. It's not a vinyl pressing, but something I always wanted was that 12 CD set of Spiritualized's Ladies And Gentlemen... Take care Kevin
For sure check out the packaging on Danger Doom's "The Mouse and The Mask" and Eyedea and Abilities album "E&A". Both cool packaging of their records and the "E&A" Record itself looks spectacular.
your videos are like a history lesson in vinyl, so well done and thoughtfully put together. Really cool one here, and I look forward to part 2 and beyond. You have everything! LOL (thanks for the shout out in the end).
I had a record when I'd put the needle on it would play for a few seconds and then just loop back. it took me years to figure out it actually was played from the inside out.
Ah, tormenting me with that Golden Boots "Bland Canyon" again. Someday when I'm flush again I gotta have that. So many wonderful pieces in just this little sampling of your vast collection, Tim.
Michael Dill I made the animation. Just a silly FCPX trick. Although for the next video, someone else did a cool animation and I asked him if I could use it, so I might
GOZER'S DEN // of sight & sound [aka: ArtsyFartsyTimo] Well, it may be silly, but I thought it was cool. I'm not about to cut out my figures from my copy and actually play with them, so it was nice to see how it could look.
Nice video. I have the Dave Mason "Alone Together" disc, it looks really cool spinning on the TT, and the songs are great as well. Thanks for the info.
One of the most well-produced and informative members of the VC. Every video is an exceptional demonstration of equal amounts of knowledge and unusual tidbits. Only one contention: needs more explosions and smash cuts. There's never enough of them. I recommend having Michael Bay guest direct a video for the proper ratio of explosions and smash cuts. Maybe even explosion cuts.
GOZER'S DEN // of sight & sound [aka: ArtsyFartsyTimo] Also, I just noticed the shoutout during my second watch-through! :D My discogs cart has so many new additions now. I was amazed how cheap that Explosions In The Sky album is going for.
I love these packages. Finding a way to store them without damaging anything can be a pain though. I like when they at least retain the SHAPE of a regular jacket size.
So well-done as usual, Tim! I can't get enough of this kind of thing, they're so much fun! So many genius ideas presented here. Of all of these, the only one I've seen before is the Menomena one. Keep these videos comin', Tim!
Here's some you may consider. Public Image Ltd - Second Edition (Metal Box), The Faces - Ooh La La, Grand Funk - Shine On (3-D glasses), Joe Jackson - I' m the man (LP was a boxed set of 5 singles when laid out created a poster).
Golden Boots are an AWESOME band and have done a lot of unique releases with PAIPTK records (record on x-ray, wood, paper plate, CD, backwards groove, locked groove, and the 3 sided LP.
Tim Thank you so very much for the High quality video's you put out. I had no idea about the TalkingHeads album. One of my favorite bands since walking into a record store and hearing Remain In Light. My brain just went into Orgasmic Overload and I bought two copies. I believe the year was 1980 and I had never heard anything like it before.Any way Please keep doing this type of video they are without a doubt on the same level as Remain In Light. Peace My Friend!
Vinyl Therapy & Audio - hey, thanks, man! I appreciate that. It will be weird, but I might actually make a couple CD videos before going back to videos about vinyl. I might lose some subscribers. ha
I'm 19- and I don't have the money to start a record collection yet so I'm very glad the industry is still doing well- and as soon as I heard that guitar my head said 'Who got a match?' and I started dancing in my chair. The Heads are insanely talented and introspective, and one of my favorite things to do is get down- who knew you could dance while performing tasks?- to their Live in Rome concert, cleaning at three am. Or Stop Making Sense. Even though the thermostat is set low in the wee hours I always end up joyously covered in sweat, shuffling about greeting my family rubbing the sleep out ofl their eyes in a sports bra and jeans covered in dust. I'm their biggest fan I know; their records are at the top of the list. I don't know how they do what they do, but I love it. You could have a heard a song three times that day and it still hits you hard and rich the fourth time.
you've got some awesome stuff there! I've got a copy of Guns N' Roses Paradise City limited edition shaped picture disc, which is shaped like a revolver and the sleeve has a slot cut in it with a holster printed on the front, which is pretty cool
I remember seeing an album that got pressed called "An Island called Earth" and a few premium issues were made with crushed meteorite and it was pressed into the vinyl One of my other favorites would be "Zaireeka" an album that requires 4 vinyl players in order to listen to listen to the album
Quarters by King gizzard and the lizard wizard has a pretty unique vinyl cover and the album itself is gimmicky in the best way possible one of my favorite albums 👍
This and the animation video were two of the coolest things I've seen all week. I enjoy longer, in-depth videos like this. If you can commit to viewing them, they're usually very rewarding :) On your next video about packaging, one that comes to mind is MGMT's Congraulations (first presssing with the scratch-off cover). I forget if you own that one. Cheers Tim!
I've only just recently started picking up vinyl records. My most unique records are Meow The Jewels and Black Bastard. Meow The Jewels has the Run The Jewels logo in a cat form that's cut out from the packaging. Under the cut out bit is a whole sheet of faux (i hope) fur. The KMD album Black Bastard has a pop up book styled gate fold of their controversial samba character.
Love your channel! Thanks for sharing your unique vinyl collection. Concerning the first record (XTC), is that suppose to be a body under the Union Jack on the top floor? It looks like there is a head and torso, but no feet pointing upwards makes me think I'm wrong?
A friend of mine just gave my girlfriend and I a record player tonight (he had an abundance) and I definitely have to get my hands on that bongzilla album to give him as a gift in return he'll fucking love it.
btw, Carsten, I always attract a few haters. Already dislikes on this. I know at least one or two people (I could list by name) that go out go their way to attack. Ah, trolls... keeping the internet unreal
GOZER'S DEN [ArtsyFartsyTimo] Still pretty cool to get only one dislike out of 2.300 views :) That being said, I don't know what makes people do that. They could just stop watching and move on to the next one.
A lot of people are trolls. I saw a guy once post "First dislike!" on a video and realized he just wanted to make sure it had a dislike and wanted to be "first" - some people are just really desperate for attention
Looking at your Bob Marley albums makes me think about a Cheech & Chong album I once had. It's called Big Bambu. Interesting concept. Look it up. Also: Rick Wakeman's No Earthly Connection.
Wow really cool designs! i with more bands (nowadays) wold do cool stuff like this i recently bought the Jack Whie Lazaretto Vinyl witch has some "Fun/eperimental" things aswell like playing from the inside out , sound loops at the ende , a "hologramm" on the vinl ... but i think this dosn't fit into the category creative package design ^^
Do you own Drukqs by Aphex Twin? It was released in a really nice limited edition 4 vinyl box set with a booklet, postcards and a die-cut Aphex Twin logo stencil. It's a really nice package.
Wow - I haven't been paying attention to the views. This one has far more views than the other design-oriented videos. Maybe it's because so many XTC sleeves were shown?
Gimmick sleeves are also a great way to identify first-pressings, since the publishers would usually switch to cheaper traditional packaging within a year.
That's not a container, that's a grinder to grind up your weed. :P
@Anderson Mekhi bootttttsssssss
I could watch this shit all day. Keep 'em coming!
“Express Yourself” by Madonna was released on 7” limited edition zipper sleeve in the UK. One of my favourites in my collection
Pearl Jam's No Code and Yield have awesome vinyl packages
Wow... wonderful stuff! I have those brilliant XTC singles (plus a whole lot more... ) but I've never seen the 7" "Senses" single like that! (I have the 12" version)...
That ELUVIUM book looks absolutely insane!! (I've never heard them and now I want that soooo bad!)
The Menomena album is almost a perfect package... great music and wonderful packaging.

GREAT STUFF!! Really inspiring! Thank you!
i just started collecting vinyl and literally only do so because of the cover art and package design lol i literally skim thru my box every day just to look at the artwork.
I know this has probably been stated before, but that is grinder that comes with the Bongzilla record. Great video! Thank you
Cool stuff! Glad you put in the old stuff like the tones and Led Zeppelin and Bob Marey.. Nice!!!
What a great video. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Bags Unlimited - thank you!
Awesome video...not just for the eye-popping cover arts but as a reminder of great music. Thanks!
Very enjoyable Video
thoughtful and inspiring - clearly made with love and care - very much appreciated - thank you for sharing this
thank you!
I don't have a record player but I like these in a artist way I like when things are different since it takes more effort to make
I've been on the lookout for that Dave Mason.
It's not a vinyl pressing, but something I always wanted was that 12 CD set of Spiritualized's Ladies And Gentlemen...
Take care
Kevin
I have the big CD, but sadly, not the tiny ones. That would be AWESOME
Absolutely sublime...!
thank you!
Awesome collection ! Thanks for posting !
I was DYING seeing you manhandle your vinyl. AHHH! No fingers on those grooves, baby!
ha - you should watch the glow-in-the-dark. I was HORRIBLE during that one
love watching this! so relaxing and interesting, thank you!
indeed, not sure why but it's so relaxing lol.
Mind-blowing video, once again. Thank you!!!
thank you!
Another awesome video, Tim. Thank you!
Thank YOU
For sure check out the packaging on Danger Doom's "The Mouse and The Mask" and Eyedea and Abilities album "E&A".
Thanks, man! You rock
I had a record when I'd put the needle on it would play for a few seconds and then just loop back. it took me years to figure out it actually was played from the inside out.
Sublime's Greatest Hits RSD release from 2018 was shaped like a matchbook with a folding top and a textured striking surface on the back!
Great video compilation. Thank you. So much creativity. Never ends what you can do with the format.
used to watch these all the time, and these actually got me back into XTC. Shame he never uploads anymore.
ironic you should mention that. There's a slim possibility some new videos will happen later this summer
such a great collection, sir!
Awesome Items as Usual! I`m really enjoying this mini-series. ttyl Aaron-
thank you!
Ah, tormenting me with that Golden Boots "Bland Canyon" again. Someday when I'm flush again I gotta have that. So many wonderful pieces in just this little sampling of your vast collection, Tim.
lol - I put it in there JUST FOR YOU, Michael. ;)
***** Ha! I can almost believe that. Good to have you back, my man.
***** Oh, yeah. Great animation on No Thugs In Our House. How did you do that? Or is that a clip you found?
Michael Dill
I made the animation.
Great stuff as always, Tim.
thank you!
Nice video. I have the Dave Mason "Alone Together" disc, it looks really cool spinning on the TT, and the songs are great as well. Thanks for the info.
You are a lucky guy if you actually own all of those records.
You have great taste in tunes.
Awesome video!
This is sick stuff. Thanks for sharing
the container for your stash is actually a grinder for grinding your stash
Indeed! I stand corrected!
Great stuff! Excellent photography and nicely edited video. Thoroughly entertaining and stuff I'd never see otherwise.
thanks!
Stash for weed=grinder. Loved the video gonna buy most of these

Only one contention: needs more explosions and smash cuts. There's never enough of them. I recommend having Michael Bay guest direct a video for the proper ratio of explosions and smash cuts. Aw, thanks, man. I really appreciate that. I do. You are right, though. Needs more BOOM
GOZER'S DEN // of sight & sound [aka: ArtsyFartsyTimo] Also, I just noticed the shoutout during my second watch-through! :D
My discogs cart has so many new additions now. I was amazed how cheap that Explosions In The Sky album is going for.
;)
I'm surprised to not see The Faces' Ooh La La. They Vinyl Jacket for that one is the bet in my collection.
TR/ST's "The Destoyer" part 1 & part 2 both have color surrounding a center color like ORENDA FINK and WHIR.
I love these packages. Finding a way to store them without damaging anything can be a pain though. I like when they at least retain the SHAPE of a regular jacket size.
+For the Record true
Check out vinyl eyezz. He has a tutorial on how to build a record wall- easy to store special records, and awesome display as well
cool. I'll have to find that
So well-done as usual, Tim! I can't get enough of this kind of thing, they're so much fun! So many genius ideas presented here. Of all of these, the only one I've seen before is the Menomena one. Keep these videos comin', Tim!
Thanks, Jill! I really appreciate that

+beetle guice - yes, some of those are quite nice. I have so many more I could show. I need to get back to making videos
I used to have most of those XTC singles
Coolness, I do have the XTC items.
classic gems!
So cool!
Thanks, man
I got a record in a picture frame once, good record.
Gah, that Menomena album, I missed out on picking up the vinyl a while back. Those flex books are awesome, but the center holes are too small
thanks!
Great video.
thank you
wow, I really wish I had all these
Love this video!! Dang cool- Lis
Astonishing🤪
I have a Golden Boots/Wands split, PIAPTK do great packaging. I wish I had yours, I’d have painted it just for that CD/vinyl combo disc prize!
Golden Boots are an AWESOME band and have done a lot of unique releases with PAIPTK records (record on x-ray, wood, paper plate, CD, backwards groove, locked groove, and the 3 sided LP.
+scott kerr got em all! :) I'd love to make an exclusive PIAPTK video - maybe some day
I think I need that Bongzilla album
very cool!!
Tim

Alice COOPERS' Albums are missing : Schools and Millions Dollars Baby... 😘
Phil.
I really enjoyed this!! I had forgotten about the Talking Heads. Really enjoyed the XTCs! Looking forward to the next installment.
new video is up! share away!
Surprised Zoviet France didnt make the list, their packaging is pretty out there.
+Matthew Fauria - check out some of the other videos. They definitely make the cut! Even one video devoted exclusively to them
+GOZER'S DEN Oh yeah my mistake, I thought someone else did the 7. 10. 12 box set review. Btw is the Pantina Pooling release as amazing as it looks?
+Matthew Fauria - super cool. But I'm a fan
+GOZER'S DEN I as well, enjoy all their releases. Amazing videos btw.
indeed!

Yes, indeed!
My favorite unique design is “thick as a brick” there is an entire newspaper in there
The first album of Tangerine Dream have a red balloon attached to the cover.
Love that Bongzilla.
indeed
+GOZER'S DEN Hey man would you be willing to trade on that bongzilla?
nah, but it's pretty easy to find on places like Discogs
Amazing
Quarters by King gizzard and the lizard wizard has a pretty unique vinyl cover and the album itself is gimmicky in the best way possible one of my favorite albums 👍
I enjoy your vids
thanks, man
Lol container. Thats a two piece grinder for a fine grind buddy. Keep it up. Enjoyed this alot.
This is great
Nick Maher thank you

I don't have that one, but I do have a scratch off cover I will mention if I do a CD video. Thanks, btw. Did you catch the shout-out? ;)
Ryan, I still have a New Order album for you. I'm too poor to send it out right now, it'll be with you in time!!
Just send it to me. ;)
I was waiting for Beck Colors deluxe 45 rpm edition.
I've only just recently started picking up vinyl records. My most unique records are Meow The Jewels and Black Bastard. yeah, those are some good choices. thanks!
"Unique" is ALREADY one of a kind. There is no such thing as "most" unique.
Pedantry _does_ make the video more fun, you're right! /s
Awesome
Woulda been cool to see the clothbound version of JOY DIVISIONS 2×LP "Still". Nothing too interesting but seems like an honorable mention at least.
Woah! Cool!
You could have included Shining On from Grand Funk, which was released in 74 with a 3D cover photo e 3D detachable glasses
The only band I recognize is XTC, and I only know Mayor of Simpleton. I need to listen to all of these bands now
I need to give you a Blue Dream Flipbook.
YES YOU DO!
Love your channel! Thanks for sharing your unique vinyl collection.
Concerning the first record (XTC), is that suppose to be a body under the Union Jack on the top floor? It looks like there is a head and torso, but no feet pointing upwards makes me think I'm wrong?

Very cool video Tim.. You're one of the few people, that gets the same amount or more views, as is subscribed to your channel :)... cool stuff!
I only have something like 15 videos... ha
btw, Carsten, I always attract a few haters. Already dislikes on this. I know at least one or two people (I could list by name) that go out go their way to attack. Ah, trolls... keeping the internet unreal

Jack White - Lazaretto ? this one is ultimate LP.
Wow really cool designs! i with more bands (nowadays) wold do cool stuff like this
i recently bought the Jack Whie Lazaretto Vinyl witch has some "Fun/eperimental" things aswell like playing from the inside out , sound loops at the ende , a "hologramm" on the vinl ... but i think this dosn't fit into the category creative package design ^^
+Breakdown Entertainment that's in one of the videos. Keep watching. ;)
Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull is a newspaper
The only special sleeves I have is flasher and jethro tull
4:21 ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! No fingers in the grooves!
I can be pretty sloppy when I'm making videos. Shame
What About Emerson Lake and Palmer Brain Salad Surgery?
I had the Led Zeppelin record with the apartment building.
+Dallas Dal - I mention the Led Zeppelin in another video!
I have that Zeppelin 3. Its an og pressing. Kinda musty. Sounds great still though.
Do you own Drukqs by Aphex Twin? It was released in a really nice limited edition 4 vinyl box set with a booklet, postcards and a die-cut Aphex Twin logo stencil. It's a really nice package.
+Dan Xepha nice
Love this!!! I am now a true subscriber
I've thought about it since I have a few odd ones. I just don't have enough, though
I recomend you look for a copy of Artaud - pez rabioso, It has a very strange shape and cannot be placed on most shelves.
10:26 Song name?
apples in stereo
Wow - I haven't been paying attention to the views. This one has far more views than the other design-oriented videos. Maybe it's because so many XTC sleeves were shown?
It's probably because the thumbnail looks pretty cool. That's why I clicked on it haha.
XTC making plans for nigel
