  • A petition calling for former Post Office boss Paula Vennells to lose her CBE over the Horizon scandal has attracted more than one million signatures.
Demands for the Honours Forfeiture Committee to remove her CBE have emerged again after ITV aired a new drama into the scandal, which has been described as the most widespread miscarriage of justice in UK history.
Former Lib Dem leader Sir Vince Cable says he will not join calls for former Post Office boss Paula Vennells to lose her CBE over the Horizon scandal, "she has issued a collective apology and a very sincere apology."

She gave this man an easy ride. This is the man who took the right for people to have a bank account at the Post Office, leaving everybody at the mercy of the commercial banks who de-bank them at will.
Of course as leader of the company she should be held responsible and have the CBE honour removed. There are a lot of other who should lose honors as well. Davey, Cable,.......

I agree. Commercial organisations should never have such powers.
We have already heard from that utter hypocrite and knight of the realm, Sir Ed Davey, who should also have got himself involved in this, and now we hear from Sir Vince Cable, another Liberal "Democrat", too. They are typically "weasel words" and bluster from both and help explain why the contempt in which they hold the electorate increasingly works the other way too.
Fujitsu, formerly ICL, a computer company whose software, I know from professional experience, often to have been released without adequate testing, seems to have gone "under the radar" in this scandal. Questions need to be asked of them too and they too should substantially contribute to the large pot of compensation money due to the several hundred and perhaps more, poor, innocent victims of their incompetence and dishonesty.
The really big question that should concern us all, however, is why did it take a TV dramatisation of this scandal to make our politicians finally get off their useless, lazy a***s?

Fujitsu, formerly ICL, a computer company whose software, I know from professional experience, often to have been released without adequate testing, seems to have gone "under the radar" in this scandal. Questions need to be asked of them too and they too should substantially contribute to the large pot of compensation money due to the several hundred and perhaps more, poor, innocent victims of their incompetence and dishonesty.

The important thing is the amounts in £s A sub post master has to make good the losses in a branch, and that's what we all did and stilm do. I know many many offices that failed to find a what the mistake was even with CCTV and just paid from their own money.
