Dark colors soft fabric, avoid embroidered emblishments light colors, vneck scoop neck at back, halter neck or off shoulder blouse,silk or chiffon saree, avoid open pallu, pleated pinned pallu,avoid heavy necklaces, wearing big danglers will help

I think putting the pleated part on the shoulder will make it look even bigger because of the excess height and width of the pleats

Hi, pleats should be thin at the shoulders. More over the border or work on saree will attract viewers eyes away from shoulders to wards the waist from where pleats are coming. This is my view it may be wrong in your perception.

IMHO it gives similar effect as shoulder pads at least on that one side which is unfortunate because I love sarees but I don’t like how I look in them 😖

Yup that's true, but honestly open pallu is good for flowy fabrics but for cotton saris, you can pleat them since having wide shoulders are alr a plus cuz the pallu hangs well. I'm thin and I have wide hips with wide shoulders so if you're like me, pleated pally will help you even for other fabrics

Hi, according to me boat neck or close neck will highlight your broad shoulders. And will not look good. To create illusion of good shoulders you need to wear deep necklines, halter neck, asymmetric necklines which will attract others towards your necklines away from shoulders.

Boat neck should be avoided as it will add on to your wide shoulder line.
