Fallout players are huge modders so it would be sweet to see if they have something we can work with or not. Either way, looking forward to getting hands on with this.
@@YourGeekFix Yes, lets. Start with getting a bubble faced display made by one of the flat panel display makers so there is no gap between the bubbled surface and the "phosphors". Would love to see an added mini SD/SD Card slot to add our own fallout themed music playlists. But otherwise this pipboy is coming along very nicely and the teams working on this aught to be very proud of their hard work, as I can see many along with myself are super pleased with the progression towards the final product ❤ thanks for this review awesome seeing it up close
One thing I just thought of is the map section of the menu. Does it actually work like a GPS or is it just a recreation of the map from the show? It’d honestly be incredible if it functions as a real GPS-style map.
I’m personally in favor of a yellowish light on the radio and Geiger counter! This light is a bit too bright of a green. I don’t know about the other colors it has, but I have a tendency to keep my stuff well charged, so I’ll mostly see the out of universe green. I’m okay with a typical battery display on the screen. I also know it impossible to perfectly please every customer!
Imagine if this thing can be fully synchronize with in game pip-boy, press TAB and do it in real time. Gonna be a little bit complicated to use but worth the experience.
That is awesome, only thingni would like in addition to the radio and excerpts is a local playlist with fallout songs on it! Also did he mention anything about water resistant ratings?
Did The Wand Company do these kind of hands on prototype reviews with anyone before? (not just the Pip-boys) Getting to see new features added during these early models builds up the hype even more (just plain good marketing), AND they seem to be listening closely to the community for ideas. Hope they keep this up, can't wait to get my hands on this one!
I think we got very lucky that Jeromy and Chris hit it off during Jeromy's 2000 kit modding days. That's how James and I got involved with him and the channel; modding Pip Boys after seeing his episodes.
Is it gonna get delayed? I don’t really know how this kinda thing works, but I’m surprised we’re not looking at the final build yet if it’s supposed to come out later this year.
Idk how much control the user would have over the animations but i’d like to have a lot, random cycling animations aren’t my cup of tea. also the ability to add our own radio music files would be fantastic
Hoping they add multiple in game radio stations... Noticed the prototype said diamond city radio but was playing the one from the show, would be cool to hear fo4, Vegas or 76 tracks
@@YourGeekFix i guess we'll see. what i personally hope for is to be able to store stuff on it like some kind of external hard drive, stream music and maybe video from a phone or possibly a internal storage device like i just mentionned. lastly change the color of the display if it's able to display colors other than green. I'm in the process of modding a pipboy 3000 mk4 from the release of fallout 4 to add more LED, internal charging of the phone, stuff like that, and i'm hoping such mods become possible over time on this one. out of the box it will already more functional than any previous pipboys (except maybe the bluetooth one, couldn't really find one), so i guess even if it's a dead end modding-wise it will still make for a good clock/cosplay piece.
I’m just going to say it: Add the bluecoat. Go with all 3 levels of distressing. It really adds to the authenticity of the overall look. The bluecoat is the difference between looking almost like a toy you’d expect to see and the true-to-screen final product used on the show.
honestly, the detail and build is super impressive and at that point the price surprises me, for that point, knowing what a $60 smartwatch can do these days in a smaller form factor than this, the only reason i don't expect better features is again, the price
I wouldn't mind wearing one of these blasting diamond city radio away going on about my day, if I see anyone doing that I'd be jealous asf wonder how heavy they are.
Should add a “holo tape” slot, maybe a way to put a cassette tape in a holo tape cover and make it work somehow but it’d be cool to have a holo tape to throw in the pip boy with more music or an 8 bit type of game
Picture a holotape with a small SSD chip in it with MP3s on it. Plugs in upon insertion. About the size (read appearance) of a 3.5 inch floppy but smaller and maybe twice as thick. It could easily have been incorporated and then the flat circuit mainboard PCB would have a spot just under that holotape slot wall. Heck, the whole thing should have just been made as a Linux Tiny PC complete with HDMI out, etc. AND THEN incorporate as many of the Pip-Boy external features as possible and then run the Pip-Boy app once the Linux or Android boots up. Then the only problem for the thing would have been the screen and 'cursor' control setup(s). Heck, I could take apart my CuBox and shove it all in there. Hey! Send me an additional shell (with the arm pads installed) so I can make a $500 pip-boy that outdoes your $250 pip-boy.

But otherwise this pipboy is coming along very nicely and the teams working on this aught to be very proud of their hard work, as I can see many along with myself are super pleased with the progression towards the final product ❤ thanks for this review awesome seeing it up close
Understood and thanks
Not only they should add a radio, but add a geiger counter if possible!
Ok
@@YourGeekFixok.
I am so excited to get my hands on one of these ! ! ! they have done an outstanding job with it and it looks even better than I ever imagined!
Great!
LOVED this sneak peak. So excited for this! ☢️👍🏻
Happy to have you here!
Us too!
Amazing! Great coverage of the product!
That
Great to see that they added the light up rad counter and radio. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
FM RADIO TOO OMG
Right?
Thats thanks to all of you; the Your Geek Fix community ❤
One thing I just thought of is the map section of the menu. Does it actually work like a GPS or is it just a recreation of the map from the show? It’d honestly be incredible if it functions as a real GPS-style map.
@@blue_ech0 no real gps.
It's recorded, so it might look better to you in person. Here's hoping!

Imagine if this thing can be fully synchronize with in game pip-boy, press TAB and do it in real time. Gonna be a little bit complicated to use but worth the experience.

A very awesome video and the replica is looking nice! You just got a new subscriber 👍
Thanks!
Awesome! Welcome to the club!
This is so much better than I EVER could have asked for. So excited to get mine!!!!!!
Awesome!
That is awesome, only thingni would like in addition to the radio and excerpts is a local playlist with fallout songs on it! Also did he mention anything about water resistant ratings?
No. It should be fine outdoors. But the speaker holes will let water in.
Cool thanks for that! Can't wait to get mine!
I love it. I wish the clock didn't blink as I find it a bit distracting for a bedside clock. But other than that it's super cool. Thanks for sharing.
There are two clock modes
I can't wait to get mine next year!!
Jan or feb?
@@YourGeekFix if I ordered mine April 23 will I get mine in November?
@molove70 no, probably Jan or Feb. You should have recieved an email.
Either way, it's gonna be awesome when you can hold it in your own hands.
@@YourGeekFix Jan!
A neat feature would be uploading your own music files and listening to them through a mock radio station, or something like that.

I really excited about this up about the new pip-boy
Great!
Good to hear, so are we!
Unintentional ASMR
Lol
Smooth Operator perk
I'm so happy and excited I ordered one of these. I can't wait for the finished product 😍
Hope you enjoy it!
Hopefully, the battery life last for a long time
It should be. Depends on your settings for the screen. You can dim it.
Did The Wand Company do these kind of hands on prototype reviews with anyone before? (not just the Pip-boys)
Getting to see new features added during these early models builds up the hype even more (just plain good marketing), AND they seem to be listening closely to the community for ideas.
Hope they keep this up, can't wait to get my hands on this one!
I think we got very lucky that Jeromy and Chris hit it off during Jeromy's 2000 kit modding days. That's how James and I got involved with him and the channel; modding Pip Boys after seeing his episodes.
I think it's great!
I must get my hands on one of these!
Legally! Purchase it. No fallout looting.
Wow! Thanks for the one on one video! Can’t wait to get my hands on this pip boy
Your Geek Fix delivers!
Hope you enjoy it!
Oh man, I can't wait to get mine!!!
Me neither
Same!
February can't come soon enough for mine, I didn't realize just how in depth of a device it would be. A must-have for cosplayers
I agree!
Absolutely a must have
Cool!
Definitely!
Looks absolutely amazing. The finer details are what is going to make this a real masterpiece! Great work!
Thanka
I’m running out of space for hype in my body
Lol
Love it! I can't wait to get mine in November.
Cool
I always wondered how the character changed the secondary tab thing
Yeah. Roller.

Just pre ordered mine yesterday on Gamestop lmao im so exited for it
Sweet!
Is it gonna get delayed? I don’t really know how this kinda thing works, but I’m surprised we’re not looking at the final build yet if it’s supposed to come out later this year.
They only got contracted to make this in Feb. It will be ready in plenty of time and they hope to push up shipping dates.
@@YourGeekFix That’s impressive!
@@YourGeekFixhopefully by Halloween so I can make the ultimate vault dweller costume 😅
@@Padfoot333 just after that in Nov.
Idk how much control the user would have over the animations but i’d like to have a lot, random cycling animations aren’t my cup of tea. also the ability to add our own radio music files would be fantastic
It isn't random. You control like in the games. Pop up animations are inworld messages.
When does the pre-order end? If you know
Not sure. It has been extended.
After getting shot in real life, hold up, open PipBoy and eat a bunch of Crams.
Lol
Will you be able to change the display color from green to blue, amber, or red?
No
@@YourGeekFix 😢
i would rather call this one the MK III as the pip boy 3000 MK IV from fallout 4 looks way more polished
This one is smaller, more advanced and chronologically newer. The mk iii actually exists already. People just don't know it by that name.
Incomplete that Pip-Boy is impressive. Complete it will be awesome!
True
Hoping they add multiple in game radio stations... Noticed the prototype said diamond city radio but was playing the one from the show, would be cool to hear fo4, Vegas or 76 tracks
Only the radio from California in the show.
Wait til next season
Wonderful work. from Fallout fans all around the wasteland, thank you!
Thank you.
I was checking to see when this video would drop all of last week I can’t wait to get my pip boy 3000 mk V
Sweet!
great video! I pre-ordered one straight away ♡ I hope we see a couple of new versions in season two
Me too
@@YourGeekFix Me three!
Absolutely needs to have the flashlight.
Sorry
Just saw your video and I’m still waiting for mine I had forgot until I saw this
First group ships in Nov.
@@YourGeekFix I ordered mine since the pre orders first dropped gonna be a minute still
That looks great. Would be amazing to have it working with the game and see the game menu on the real pip boy instead of the PC display..
The game would have to be altered, like the f04 prop was
i can't wait for people to mod the software of this thing and sideload doom
@@lucaspec7284 I don't think this can handle doom
@@lucaspec7284 when did it mention streaming or storage?
@@YourGeekFix it didn't. i'm saying it would be cool to mod that in.
@@lucaspec7284 ok
For the price this is soooo worth it! I had to pre order!🔥
It really is!
Ordered my not too long ago! Should've got it on the 17th! A day after my birthday lol. Looks great, just subscribed for more updates
Awesome! Welcome to the club. Let us know how you like the channel! Also, we got a really sweet podcast if I say so myself.
Thanks
I love getting frequent updates about this
We do our best!
Sure
i honestly really like it looking new and shiny! compared to the roughed up version from the movie prop
I hear that
I’m just going to say it: Add the bluecoat. Go with all 3 levels of distressing. It really adds to the authenticity of the overall look. The bluecoat is the difference between looking almost like a toy you’d expect to see and the true-to-screen final product used on the show.
Ok
How about an actual GPS? Now that would be pretty cool!!
That would be cool.
honestly, the detail and build is super impressive and at that point the price surprises me, for that point, knowing what a $60 smartwatch can do these days in a smaller form factor than this, the only reason i don't expect better features is again, the price
Price and dev time.
I wouldn't mind wearing one of these blasting diamond city radio away going on about my day, if I see anyone doing that I'd be jealous asf wonder how heavy they are.
Nit bad. It was in my wrist, thought without the metal front.
Can't wait to get mine. But really I want the one from show. The one that uses the smart phone. Would be nice to have that an updatable pipboy app
So the one fron the show had to use a really old iPhone mini to fit. The screen is only 2 inches. Most phones are bigger than this pipboy.
@@YourGeekFix aww. Well that's set down. That would have been so cool to mess around with
I'm going to try and get mine autographed by the cast when I see them next.
When do you see them?
Just Pre-Ordered mine I’m so excited!
Awesome!
I'm a little sad that it doesn't have a digital radio but I'm still pretty excited to get mine, pre order is in for my new alarm clock
Fm radio though.
Should add a “holo tape” slot, maybe a way to put a cassette tape in a holo tape cover and make it work somehow but it’d be cool to have a holo tape to throw in the pip boy with more music or an 8 bit type of game
Picture a cassette tape. This is smaller than that.
This pipboy is too small for my holotape. Must have been a special one.
Can't wait for it! I will definitely make a unboxing video when I get mines!
Awesome, let us know when you do!
@@MassiveDMG will do!
@@ThePyro8930 Do you do a lot of unboxings?

i'm so happy by what i see. 2025 is far but it will be worthy to wait this excellent prop. the better i see.
Awesome!
Have they ever thought of adding a Bluetooth feature so people can play the music from the games on this model of the pip boy?
This was discussed in an earlier interview with Chris.
Could always just use a Bluetooth FM transmitter to transmit your music
