The frame pacing issues in this game make getting 100 so much more difficult than it should be but the reward for doing it is so worth it. I'm investing entirely into stache on Luigi at every opportunity and the Luck Charm DX multiplying it by 2x makes it easily one of the best equipment pieces in the game. Luigi is able to keep up with Mario's sheer damage output because he's landing lucky hits so often and a rank bonus you unlock later helps this even further.
I’m still so mad that they made a hidden reward for maxing out at 999, a Luck Charm DX+ for 2.5x luck and 5 stache beans were NOT worth that time and effort 😭💀 never again Nintendo, never again
I remapped Y and X to L and R and I felt that helped getting to 100. I was also stupid and got 100 on the second rally machine just to find out there's no reason to.
I was hoping someone was also agreeing on how annoying this challange was. I legit thought to myself "if someone made a video about this dumb challange, i wonder if they are gonna call it stupid or annoying or something"
@@disbandloona I’m not even gonna be able to use the reward for a while because I’m trying to grind out the “No-Gear” achievement before the game gets hard.
@@slat1202 You could always wait until the endgame and grind enemies from the early islands since you could probably defeat them in one attack even without gear. That's my plan at least.

@@francisramos9083 Oh definitely, it was torturous. I ended up having to focus on pressing X when the ball got to the green patch above Mario. Then I’d press Y when it reached the railing a bit above Luigi. It helped me consistently get to the 90s but after that point, it’s pretty much just luck.

Rather annoying minigame, but I still think the 99 block in Bowser’s Inside Story is harder
I hate that getting 100 is hard enough but they really have to leave another prize behind 300 just to be sadistic.
