Jay mentions "War Cry Spider Dudes" - Ebay Prices Increase 1000%
Condiment cups are a must have for me from mixing washes and inks to using them to sort out model bits per model in the squad so you’re not constantly staring at the spruce trying to find that next piece. It’s in the cup.
Came for the Warcry-content (big fan of this game) but stayed for the dog-facts ;). Looking forward to more possible Warcry-content.
That medium is probably more akin to Turpentine than white spirits. It's near enough the same thing as far as these bottles tell you, but Turpentine affects acrylics, including varnishes and primers. White spirits don't damage acrylics as much unless you're going nuts rubbing them.
You don't need to varnish when using oils but you do need to test that the thinner you're using doesn't remove acrylics. They're not all the same.
Sweet video! Always happy to see Warcry! I’m running a tournament in Madison Feb 17th and would love to have you!
That hotglue vine workflow looks great!
It's not that weird that dogs grow extra teeth. I mean, you grew an extra 4.
You actually grew 12! Human children have 20 teeth and adult humans have 32 once the wisdom teeth are through 😁
For anyone trying oils, always varnish before and after oils just to be safe. Im sure theres certain thinners that don't need it but to skip the headache varnish first. It also protects the paint from the friction of wiping the oils off
Good advice but I've never had that issue. I only varnish when I want the oil wash in the crevices like a pin wash but you can be sloppy and it cleans up perfect. I prefer not to varnish as it acts more like a filter and gives better looking results.
Maybe it's dry time. I always give ample time for the paint to dry and cure before an oil wash.
@@jc7997aj it's definitely drying time, and I don't think any primer was used on the prints?
@@Coraxery I use a USB desk fan for quick drys during glazing and such but before an oil wash definitely let dry and cure overnight. Then the same after an oil wash before I do anything else.
Idc what it is, it gets base coated. Lol. That rule #1,2 and 3.
@@jc7997aj fair enough, it could also be airbrush thinner not fully drying under the paint that reacts with the oil thinners. I've always tended to be extra safe with putting anything not acrylic over paint jobs. Even pigments thinned with airbrush thinner and brushed on can strip paint
@@Tosicc567 I wonder if we looked at all the complaints if we'd find rushing was the common denominator.
Your terrain looks really good!! I really love the vine idea!! Humans have 20 baby teeth and 32 adult teeth. I got some fun human fact playing cards. Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
those torches look like reese's cups
If you want to try oil washing with no smell or risk, try artist quality watercolors. It’s my quick recipe for Stormtroopers and fantasy stonework
Woo! Mega excited to see Warcry updates! Hope you have fun with it, and update us on those green pipe boys!!
The round corner pieces instantly reminded me of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and the brick red primer caused me run to the store and buy some
1:46 you can actually make any size portal, as long as it bigger than 2 x 3 on the inside. Yours is very clearly 5 x 5. The mistake you made was you didn’t actually use the flint and steel, you just pulled it out
maybe hotglue straight into the coconut husk?
I use that red primer all the time. I have never had any trouble painting over it, but I typically lay down a base coat over it with an airbrush.
Bro he be callin my fav game the worst what a scam!!! Haha
Warcry may be GWs best game from a design and playablity POV. I think because it flies under the radar, it hasnt become a hot mess like 40k and Killteam. I've been toying with just stating up Killteams for Warcry...
4x4 portals are legal in minecraft. Just to let you know since this is the most improtant part of the whole video (jk love you).
1 not real lego's but 2 had a thought earlier today before seeing this but building and creating a terrain out of real lego's for warhammer just thought it would be a very interesting battle field to make just some food for thought
Looking forward to seeing more Warcry!
Actually walls can stand for thousands of years. You remember the great wall of China?
Warcry is top tier. Super excited to see more warcry content from you guys ❤
You think Warcry is underated in know you all sleeping on underworlds
Warcry is my favorite GW game =)
that glue gun vine technique 👌
I feel like you could magnetize these blocks
this vine-technique is crazy! I need to try it out.
Ya that was a new one for me too.
Any other kids of the 90s remember Legends of the Hidden Temple? I am loving the look of this terrain set!
pleaseeeee a tutorial for saurus warriors! have a whole army i still want to paint, but im waiting for a guide from you lol
Warcry is far from GWs worst game
He needs to get views somehow lmao
Don't hate the clickbait, hate the (youtube) game
He got you to comment too, he played you
Title says UNDERRATED not WORST
@@darthkek1953 he changed it lmao
WarCry is an amazing game....definitely underrated and actually much more strategic then it first looks.
The spider dudes from warcry is hell to paint, they got that webbing all over that messes with the painting flow, be sure to have a good look at them before you get them, but they are pretty good ingame. And those makeup sponges is so thick they can be cut in to 3 pieces
Warcry is amazing. I love Kill Team, but sometimes I want to just chuck some dice without having to burn my brain being as tactical and precise as possible.
Warcry is perfect for that, and it's easy and quick playing enough that I can play with my 17 year old, my 10 year old and my wife.
Looks great! I saw on MS_Paints RUclips channel recently in a mordheim video he did for some easy & realistic vines plus awesome looking water too if wanting a fountain too.
If i remember right, the fun Warhammer Underworlds warbands work in WarCry too.
As soon as I saw the Jade Obelisk set, looked up the lore to be a tzeentchian cult with a mesoamerican theme and was immediately sold on it. Been looking to make a pre-columbian aesthetic army and diorama for 40k for the last few month now.
I'm glad you changed the video's title/thumbnail. You do the quality of your videos a disservice when you take such a clickbaity approach.
Yes, Warcry definitely can get stale with its 1,048,576 possible missions in the base mission pack
Quick note! The Tarantalous Brood (Spider dudes) are severely underpowered compared to almost all other Warcry teams! They look cool but unfortunately are not that good.
ALWAYS put down varnish/sealant before the oils phase; I'd let them dry, too, for max impact.
Defintily a game I want to get into, Im just patiently waiting on a Sylvaneth warband to begin my AoS journey. Idk about underrated thougj. Its for sure AoS's most popular game system, theres no way. Its a phenomenal game and Im saying that as a spectator. It might not get talked about as much but GW sure loves making new teams as their is at least one new team guaranteed to be revealed at every reveal show
I still haven't figured out what's the difference between Warcry and Underworlds.
Warcry it's so good. And I have so much warband that I can play a Ravagers army :P (Slaves of Darkness)
All I remember of Slender The 8 Pages was installing a virus that crippled my Dad's laptop instead of the actual game lmao
Unlike humans many dogs faces literally elongate as they get older. Most species with smushed faces are that way due to forced breeding for certain traits.... Even humans become adults and then get wisdom teeth in... They just have more space so more teeth.
oh Slender the Eight Pages traumatized me as a kid, I was one of those like, 10 to 11ish year olds finding out about creepypastas and my brain thought these things were real and it scared the bejeebus out of me
I bet that hot glue vines trick could make awesome Tyranids tentacles for terrain too.
Love to see some Warcry content from you guys! Such a great game with a surprising amount of depth and a solid skill curve.
What is that foam you use? And when making boards what do you use to seal it? I've been wanting to make my own board for ages but have never actually found an answer to what foam is used😅
The plural is LEGO. Just like there's no such thing as Jedis, LEGOs is not a thing.
well if you think of it just like human's we loose our baby teeth and grow adult teeth, so do the dogs.
Warcry is probably the most fun game gw made since spacehulk
Woah that's one hell of a hot take there buddy. Adeptus Titanicus and Kill Team are better imo
@@LordCrate-du8zm kt is good now because they take half the rule from warcry, kt 2018 was hot garbage
@@Sgt-Banana I see no counterpoint for Titanicus. God Engines rule!
This is not even close to their worst game. It's arguably their best game. Please choose your words better or risk being clickbait
Night Shift has excellent videos on how to use oils - more time consuming but amazing results.
That acrylic varnish has acetone in it. I bubbled some paint on a model airplane.
I dont sub every month, but I'll do it for that terrain. It will be good for generic alien ruins in any SF or fantasy game.
Can you please tell me exactly what you use to glue resin.. If my freaking sculpts come apart one more time...
Who else noticed the Minecraft reference?
It's ok, I can wait. (It was a really good one, ngl)
You put the place for torches on and all of a sudden the end of The One popped in my head. " I am no ones bitch. You all are MINE! "
Best game you could get into! Looking forward to seeing the painted warband
My dark elf gang would look great in there (Lustria Mordhei expansion)
Newsh from Monument Hobbies has similar use to oil wash, but is acrylic based
should've left it Hollow So you could keep your Weed In it.
hmmm, wouldn't green or brown hotglue be better for making vines than clear one?
Related to wargaming - For both human and dog skulls there are extra teeth before they come in
Am I the only one who thinks that the temple looks like the underwater temple from Minecraft
Maybe keep the candle away from all those spirits and other flammables….
LOVE the Reese's Cups on top of the pyramid!
The only problem with that terrain piece is the stairs. No way a model can stand on that.
So the interviewer just pushed his new dog show instead of asking questions
6:21 I appreciate you not covering the dog fact in paint
When using oil washes always, ALWAYS use a varnish on your acrylics before applying and let it all dry first. Ngl dude, that is like the first thing you should be learning about oils 😂
Bs... Totally untrue, for acrylic over a primed surface. Problem was the chrome gold.
Yeah I'm surprised how many RUclipsrs trying oils miss this crucial step. Certain thinners might not have issues with it but you should always varnish before and after oils
Warcry is a great game. It's my favourite skirmish game by far.
WAAAAAARRCRYYYYYY
Would you make a video painting a Lord of Skulls please
Please wear some gloves while handling epoxy for godsake
This is awesome terrain! i love this very much!
I really want to try warcry and this terrain loojs so cool
My man, you HAVE to varnish acrylics before you oil wash. white spirits are no joke that stuff will strip almost anything. Try a semi gloss or a gloss varnish to give the oil an easier flow over the surface. Then matte varnish when finished to seal it in.
that's not true at all, white spirits do not interact with acrylics. The rubbing off is due to using far too much pressure.
Check stl prices
Nah your okay thanks.
Theres also a warcry tournament in Madison in the 2/17! I believe the lovely folks from @3heroes1chaff will be there
Only me unfortunately, but the whole squad should be at adepticon for the competitive event! Lots of other awesome people at the event next weekend too though!
I love hearing the weird dog facts popping up
Next please please please! Make the castle for ur dwarfs!
I hear a Pulp Fiction reference, I upvote!
Color of yucky.....XD This made my day.
Jay: “Hey I’m starting an army to engage in a battle with someone!”
Every video afterwards: “Ok so I’m expanding one of my largest armies and I’m starting on some stuff I’ve held onto for many a generation!”
For Rustoleum aerosol primers I find it best to let the primer cure for at least 24 hours, but a week is even better, before attempting any sort of oil wash. The primer doesn't seem to cure under an acrylic paint layer, and it will slough the acrylic layer right off as soon as you use a reductive technique with mineral spirits. Of course, acrylic primers are usually fine after 15 minutes or so, but take ten times as long to apply with an airbrush.
i like the reese's peanut butter cups on the corners
I closed out all my Patreon subscriptions last month when a took an axe to all my recurring monthly charges. But this is amazing and bringing me back to the fold.
Yes! Finally varnish! After people recommending it under every oil wash video since Jay used oils for the first time it finally happened
I use that same primer brand in black on all my minis and models (usually white or gray with those). Never had a prob with acrylics over it.
Sweeeeet Peanut Butter cup fire bowls!!!
Warhammer Lego would drain my bank account in no time at all.
0:44 Be the Sheppard, Jay. 😎👍
Where did you get that giant bag of sponges
Warcry is the only GW game to win an award
9:40 big and hard to hold onto-that’s what she said
I had problems with pils, too. But if i use them i let them dry for at least a couple of hours jnti, they are really dry to the touch. This helps me preventing from scraping off the acrylics
Where are those trees from they are really nice 😮
