The nice thing about the Zhu yuan banner is that Nicole will be on it allowing players to get more eidolons or mindscape or whatever the hell the game calls it so thats nice, same with her weapon too.

Was on the fence on getting her mostly due to saving for Miyabi, and I dont want to talk about banner leaks in CC channels unless you don't mind, but to put it short, since apparently Miyabi is still quite far away (we talking about possibly more than 3 months of wait here), and I do need more characters/copies, considering I sub to the monthly pack & would very likely have enough for Miyabi then? Might as well.
Zhu Yuan seems quite future proof too somewhat? Especially with her being the only 2nd ether & only anomaly atm. The more flexible team comp sounds great too. I also like the playstyle & mobility in her overall kit, need a good gun character & think she looks great overall. So seems like a no brainer pull decision to me lol.
I won’t be covering leaks but if you do in the comments all I ask is to let everyone know what you are going to say is a leak just incase others don’t want to see!
Zhu is looking really flexible and future proof tho especially with the upcoming 1.1 units so I think she’ll be around for a while as a good unit
@@SolessSolXS yea word, I won't ever discuss story leaks, don't worry. And characters, only when they're specifically being discussed about & I'd always clarify that they're being leaks, nothing is confirmed. I'll also keep discussion around that to a minimum.
That said, figure I'll just go for Zhu anyway. I already have Ellen, and if Miyabi is going to be another Ice unit, she'd be redundant unless I need another Ice hypercarry for the second team. Right now, covering more roles & elements is top priority. If, because of this I'd miss on Miyabi I can live with that I suppose lol. Either I'll wait until her rerun or if someone cooler gets released.
The things with Zhu is, even if she gets powercrept later on I figure she'd still be really great for ether anomaly buildup one way or another, so she's much less likely to lose her spot in teams & with it, still remain useful in the long run.

@@kuruto3189 It could work but Zhu Yuan will still need another Ether unit to build Anomaly DMG. The buff does make space for Lucy + Koleda or Lychoan + Shoukaku while waiting for patch 1.2. From leaks, Seth is a Defense unit that buffs Zhu Yuan's Anomaly DMG which could forgo necessity for Nicole.

Game has already blessed me with a C4 Nicole. Aiming to get Zhu Yuan and her W-Engine.I feel like 18k Polychromes and 25 tickets is a pretty comfortable gamble. 😊

@@nagi-springfield93 Yup! I skipped Ellen. Was originally aiming for an Ice team, but I didn't get Lycaon during the beginner pity. Pivoted to building a team around Soldier 11 instead and saving resources.
Pretty much the same situation as you. Somehow I rolled a c5 Nicole already just from standard banner 😂 The downside is I have so few characters cause of all the dupes
Nicole is my favorite character and using her in the trial with Zhu Yuan was the most fun I’ve had playing g this game. Can’t wait to see what Zhu teams look like in the future.

Koleda, Lucy, Zhu Yuan may be cracked too. I think her best team may actually be Rat girl in next patch with Nicole personally, but we will be waiting for a while. Those with Lycoan though keep profitting from pulling him for sure. I wanna try Grace & Rina with Zhu Yuan one day too but I don't have Rina yet, really interested if whales display how good this team is because Anomally based teams may actually be best with Zhu Yuan.
Looking forward to Zhu Yuan. I was interested in Ellen’s gameplay but after playing Zhu Yuan in the story, I planned to pull for her instead. I did play Ellen in the story and trials but she kinda feels a bit clunky to play compared to Zhu Yuan to me. Zhu yuan feels very fast paced and agile while surprisingly feeling good to play.
Plus when I saw both Zhu and Miyabi talking to each other about their graduation times, it made me tear up 😢 I started play ZZZ because of Miyabi and this interaction made me love her and Zhu Yuan more!
Currently I am very divided between Zhu Yuan and Jane Doe.
Jane is looking kinda fye. I’m hoping she’s later into 1.1 honestly😭
I love the Housekeeping faction and actually main it right now but I do feel like Ice is getting glazed a bit too much, my first thought was to put her with either Rina and Lycaon or Rina and Grace but I do also understand the hype. Just disappointed so many skip over how good of a support Rina is. (I'm currently using Rina, Corin and Piper.)
I think Rina is an amazing support but I think Zhu Yuans best team with her will come in 1.1. You can definitely switch Soukaku out for Rina tho but I just felt like it was too early to be talking about 5* Star only teams at the moment like that.
I know you can do Anby too but honestly at that point I feel you should run Nicole for the better synergy.

You gonna use Nicole regardless but this free up a lot, like A LOT of Zhu Yuan's teams option. You can mix match with other support + stun/def unit with synergistic element or faction.
i.g.
Sokaku + Lycaon or Seth / Lucy + Koleda or Ben / Rina + Anby or Seth. The option is almost limitless.
I saw in the story that she got her additional ability off support and thought "That's a cool thing for them to do for the story." I hope you're right and that this persists to her actual release. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't, it does give extra design space and can lead to more team building options. Anyway, good video!
@@nivlet42 yep definitely. I think changes like that are something we should expect more for the feature so that units don’t feel so limited with teams because honestly if they didn’t Zhu Yuan was really only going to have 1 true team😭

I feel Koleda Lucy would be the best combo for now.
Soukaku can't give other buffs it provides to Juyeon, and Lucy is much faster, stronger in terms of character specs itself. Piper Lucy is great for disorder setups, but it lacks daze compared to other comps, as well as Juyeon not that fit for a disorder setup imo (due to her long field times wothout ether damage)
Yeah I can imagine this team being one of her best definitely. I know Somali doesn’t directly buff her but she does buff Lycaon if you have him on your team which just overall makes the team very synergistic. Same with Piper and Lucy tho so I believe both teams are great options definitely

I lost my 50/50 early on Ellen. Was a bit sad, but that was before I got to Zhu Yuan's story. Now I'm glad that I have the banner guarantee for her. Currently sitting at 4800 pulls...

To be completely honest, although it may seem like a buff for her, I personally think of it as a mini change for the current state of the game...
When 1.1 comes out with Qingyi, Seth and Jane Doe, will the developers revert that change so she can be used the way she was intended to?
I'm just a bit concerned if we're hyping it up a bit too soon. If they don't change it back then she will be a really good character for many teams I'm sure. BUT if they do, don't be upset about it because this is how the main component of team building works...
Them making changes to character kits like that on full release from my understanding can get them in trouble in CN but even so I don’t think this is a temporary change I think this will be future implementations for other characters to make them more flexible down the road. I don’t think ever character will be like that but certain units potential will
Got 3 bens and 3 nicoles from my standard pulls. Didnt touch ellen banner. Well i used 9 out of the 10 free pulls we recently got and pulled a koleda but im set for zhu yuan. Next banner is perfect for me.
I really like the combo Lucy-Piper, but unfortunately I won't have enough resources and I'm alredy building up 5 agents, they'll definitely will be soon enough 😢

I have lycaon and soukaku but lost the 50/50 for ellen, but I prefer zhu yuan gameplay so I'm glad now that's one of her best team :)
I figured this out by putting soukaku in team and it still satisfied the requirement. My Ellen, anby, rin, matchup will be satisfied. By sub Ellen with Zhu yuan.
I keep going back and forth haha. I don't know who to try and pull, Ellen or for Zhu Yuan. I basically have the best ice team, I just need Ellen
I think they need to update Nicole’s skill so the orb is somewhat translucent so you can see through it. Can’t see shit when it’s in the field rn.

I have 6500-700 polychromes left and a round band (Limited), do you advise me to invoke on Zhu Yuan? The thing is, as he's one of the only ethereal characters besides Nicole, I'm hesitant a lot. However, I watched the video, but hey... it's complicated. Otherwise I will surely invoke Jane Doe (Even if I already have quite a few Physical characters (Billy, Corin, Piper).
Will Zhu Yuan be back after the banner is gone? I intend to pull her as much as I can, but wondering if there's any hope of getting more cinemas down the line. (Maybe we'll be able to get a copy off of trust level at least)
Eventually but we don’t know when. They always do reruns down the line but it normally takes a while for them to happen.

Im not sure if theyll keep the passive like that, I feel like they olny changed it for the story mission but once she comes out it'll be back to how it was. I could be wrong but with a passive like that she's literally breaking the rules of the game every other character has to abide by besides her.
Faction/Element is the rule for every character and Zhu Yuan said F*ck that 😭

Grace could possibly work but when reading her kit she really doesn’t do anything for Zhu Yuan. They both kinda just exist together lol

What would be a smarter way of pulling for units/weapons as a casual f2p?
Try and get as much dupes for a character or get the character and aim for their signature weapon?
Depends on your situation. If you have a guarantee, calculate EXACTLY how many pulls you'll need to hard pity the character. Once you have that, go for the weapon. Since the unit is a guarantee, do as many pulls as you can on the weapon banner and see what happens but don't pull OVER the amount required to get the unit.
However, if you're on a 50/50 obviously go for the character first. Once you get the 5 star you want, do what I said above.
To answer your question, imo getting a signature weapon is much more important than getting dupes for 4 stars or even the 5 star (depending on how good the 5 stars dupe is). Just the nature of the 4 stars is answer enough, you'll definitely see 4 stars later on in different banners, but you'll NEVER see the signature weapon or character you want unless their banner is currently running.
I would say aim for the character and only go for weapons if you want to future proof the unit. Weapons will allow them to not be power creeped as fast but I would only do it if I really like that unit.
I only go for dupe for characters like A-Rank units if they are on a banner of a character I like. Outside of that just save for who you want

And now i’m starting to be a little more mindful with ZZZ and have more cohesive units/teams

Looks like i’ll just compare the value of their dupes to their signature and go from there, i ask this because i atleast want my zhu yuan to have passable performance when future end game comes. Learned my lesson with star rail and i never want to go through the pains of having to grind more when building units/teams because i didn’t invest enough dupes or signatures with my 5 stars
@@ThreshtheWeebWarden ofc! I think with Zhu have more faction members coming in the future she will at least have some legitivity for a while. Investing dupes into characters can be worth it but we just always have to remeber that going that far just means just have to skip out on possibly 2 banners or so in the future when being F2P. As long as you are ok with that then invest into what you want! Personally for me I think I'm going for Zhu Yuan and her weapon at least

You can! Lycaon doesn’t mesh well with them but he’s busted so he’ll cook regardless and Zhu Yuan & Nicole just have good synergy
I think she is balanced character. Have good broken powerhouse but the downside is you lose your eye tracking on the enemies. Seriously.
zhu yuan really wants a stunner on the team for her kit so rather than pairing her with piper and lucy I think it would make more sense to do koleda and lucy :)
With the rate that Piper triggers Anomaly Build Up & Zhu Yan with Nicole, I think they might be ok with sacrificing a stunner for a team but I would need to test it on release to see.
Giving her a Stunner would more than likely still be best tho! Just experimenting with ideas is all
Yeah because she desperately needs her enhanced basic attack and the easiest way is to do chain attacks
Remember for gacha people, always save there always more op character than starting banner

This never happened, Zhu Yuan is the only Ether dps in the game there’s literally no one else that people could say is better
The game is too early to consider the current roster as "the best". Zhu Yuan is the ONLY ether dps option atm. Still, It'll be months before we get another ether dps so if you like her and you're lacking DPS units It's a good investment.

Ellen still outdamages her by a lot. Zhus buff wont change shit, because its STILL going to be Zhu + Nicole no matter what.
EDIT: Rina is exceptional, but the problem is, without Nicole, you wont get Corruption stacked up quickly on enemys and Ether 4pc disc set NEEDS corruption on enemys to have the stacking cDmg buff. Without it, you are literally throwing away the 4pc effect. Getting >50% cDmg from the 4pc on every supression PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW is stronger in the long run than Rinas Pen%. Nicole and Rina have literally the same multipliers. Either you get 35% Pen or 35/40% Def reduction and their weapons are also equal with "Vault" at R3. They do the exact same thing, with the exact same multipliers. Only Rina has longer duration, but is much harder to play.

yeah it’ll work but you’ll want to build nicole eventually
Statistically speaking since the calculations are different for damage, atk% buffs are more ideal than flat atk buffs (ex. Soukaku) so if you're using Nicole for something else or if you don't want to use her, she's her next best A-rank support
Yeah this should be solid especially with the ATK buff and then Koldea gives the chain attack dmg buff too! Her stun is really good as well
@@TheZij hey what do you think abt pen ratio over ether dmg bonus for zhu yuans 5 slot? she has a ton of dmg bonus in her kit so i’m thinking i should run crit dmg, pen ratio, and atk%

Unless we have a number database for the enemies that show some have INSANELY high defense, I'd wager it's better to still go for Ether%. Rina is the only one that uses Pen Ratio for a main stat anyway

Not worse, just less valuable. But here's the thing for the argument of powercreep. Just because a future unit might be better, does NOT mean that past units are trash. They're still just as good as before, if not BETTER due to the release of future supports or characters that make Zhu Yuan better. If you can clear shiyu defense with Zhu Yuan against enemies weak to ether, then you'll always be able to, no matter what patch the game is in. The biggest issue with powercreep is the nature of brute forcing the content. Look at acheron from hsr, she can clear any content regardless of the weaknesses since she bypasses elemental types. In this game enemies are resistant to elements in much the same way. The best way to not worry about powercreep is to just focus on the units that make you have fun when you play, cause everybody says "pull who you like" and whatnot but sometimes that doesn't always transfer into gameplay. For instance I really love cloud retainer in genshin impact, but I hate her fucking gameplay lmao. Imo if you're already worried about powercreep stuff this early into the game then you've already lost the war lmao because you'll just end up never pulling anything since the next best thing is coming right after.
Naw because more ether units just mean more units to work with her unless they are specially Ether Attack.

Yes you can probably just run Anby, Rina, Zhu Yuan. She csn take advantage of the PEN Ratio Buff from her but that’s about it

This "buff" is nothing. Of the 4 support characters, Nicole buffs everything Zhu Yuan wants. You simply will not have the output or synergy for Zhu Yuan from any other support that Nicole gives her. And guess what, that's 100% fine. Your only swap option is anby for Lycon or Koleda as a stunner.
Once Qingyi is obtainable she'll likely take up that spot permaently. Sometimes you don't need a dps to be flexable, you just need them to work well with their intended party comp.
It does a lot because it doesn’t limit her to just one team to start. A lot of players could not have Nicole upgrade or just don’t want to. Nicole can be her best partner but that doesn’t mean everyone wants to use her lol
