I am one of the bus drivers, that provide service for the Burner Express. We pick up Burners at the Reno Airport, and drive them to the Playa. It is an elite assignment, as you do NOT want to send a rookie driver to the Playa, with all the things that can go wrong on the trip. (ie sandstorms, accidents, drunken and drugged drivers etc) I feel we drivers have the best of both worlds because we get to meet Burners from all around the World, when they are full of energy to get to the Playa. Then we pull you out after you are exhausted and get you to the airport safely, to get home. In between, we go back to civilization to reset, but we get that daily connection. I'll be there for 2023, my seventh burn as a Burner Express driver.
That’s definitely a lovely way to see full circle of a burner experience specially for someone coming for the first time. Starting to the end. Would love to meet you one day.
Good video I like how she pointed out that there was a lot of white people there and it took us a couple of days to get used to them. But it turns they are really nice and diverse. Kind of un like your self. In my elder years I am starting to come to the conclusion that people who bring up race and have preconceived assumptions that the race as a whole of its people are some how terrible and hate filled . I think they are looking at them selfs and how they maybe feel towards that particular race of people. And what do you know it turns out the white devils ain't so bad after all some are diverse . Just like every other race . How Ironic .
I get so nervous as a veteran burner watching these videos, but you did a great job - especially as first timers - explaining the wonder of the event in combination with the preparation. Its the hardest vacation you will ever love! Thank you for explaining immediacy to others, its my favorite principle and probably the hardest one to accept, but such a key part of your burn. I'm so glad you enjoyed your time!
THANK YOU! So glad you like this video and feel that we were able to explain this wonderful event without confusing or misinterpreting. We were definitely nervous making this video.
This is the best video I've ever seen about preparing for and experiencing Burning Man. I've been wanting to go, but it all felt so daunting. Now I think I can do it. Thank you so much!
I enjoyed watching this. Thanks for not only going through all the practical steps but also sharing how it feels and what the best way to approach something outside the normal comfort zone of most folks.
Absolutely awesome video! BM has been on my bucket list for the past 20 years, and I now have a target of 2026 for my 50th birthday. Thank you for all the great insight.
I lived in San Francisco in the late 90's and went out to the clubs, the experience where the DJ is right in front of you was one I'll never forget. Being able to reach across the turntables and shake their hand was quite cool. I miss those days but I feel blessed to have experienced it at all.

Excellent job! Most people only give an equipment list, and leave out the emotional prep and experience. Your explanation was "truer" than nearly any i have seen. ❤ Zyg, esplanade theme camp core team and BORG volunteer, 10+ years. I missed this year, and i keep telling people "the rain would have been AMAZING to experience!" Hope you do well on your way out.

I want to go so bad!!! I am typically defined as a “red neck” type of feller although I am not. I recently went to a local springs campground here in Florida and totally random there was a rave going on. This happened to be my first experience with mushrooms as well. The amount of different and unique things and people was mind blowing. Everyone having the best of times, totally free beside the camping. Makes me want to do it every weekend!!! At first I felt totally out of place with my “appearance” but then quickly felt at home dancing and laughing with all the awesome strangers I met and it was just a beautiful time!!
2023 Burning Man gave Woodstock vibes. Great video, you both provided more answers to any question I could have had. Quite relatable on the diversity aspect.
Great video! Your approach was so unique and I learned so much. I didn’t realize the association with the camps or the offerings, I now feel I have a lot to do before I ever go.

I have always wanted to go to Burning Man. I need to go now after watching this video! You guy are great and from now one I will be following your adventures!
Great video! I found myself wanting to hit Like so many times. But I'd already liked it!!! I've been 8 times, but not in five years. This year is a last-minute fortunate set of circumstances to go! So I'm in the final stages of packing and heading out. You hit on so many aspects. Most I'd already planned for, but several I'd totally forgot. And you show innovative solutions. Thank You for the very relevant traveling distance / time maps you snap shotted. I screen shot each of them. It puts things into so much better perspective for me. I had general distances in my mind, but not specifics, and the math out there of how far it is to walk circuitous routes really adds up. Seeing the times really shot things into perspective. ( I've been 8 times and occasionally misplace or have had my bike taken.). So I've walked Plenty. It's super rewarding either mode of transport, but tradeoffs. For instance: After Temple Burn, A walk into Deep Playa and then back to the city edge (the wrong city edge during a nighttime dust storm, respective to my camp) and then walk circularly through an outer street back to camp. When many street signs are missing, feeling lost, and making mistakes. With dust swirling and no stars to guide... No wonder I was exhausted. I figure that was at least 8 miles that I hadn't planned for... That was in the before times for me, before smart phone & apps, and I didn't even have a compass. Anyway, Thank You. Great video.

Yes! It was MUDDY for a day this year and majority of it dried up the next day. We all continued to live and party 😂 while the rest of the world got an escalated version which what made it seem like people were trapped. It wasn’t the case, we just had to walk in Mud and dance barefoot in mud, like that’s all. Burning man ends on Sunday and everyone leaves on Monday right at end of long weekend which causes long line ups every year. So please don’t believe everything you see in news. I found it interesting listening as a white male how you felt a little uneasy not seeing a lot of other Indians. I have done some solo traveling to countries where I don’t speak their language and that can be scary at times. At least you speak English. I was always relieved when I found another American , Englishman or someone else who spoke English while I traveled. Enjoyed the video thanks for your insights. Great vid! Looking forward to your insights and hacks after this year's, Soak vs Burn. Heavy rain and cold are becoming more and more common and it looks like you could do another detailed round on expertly dealing with those realities! Learning to be humble and respectful while surrendering yourself to the power of Nature is the penultimate set of skills, especially on the playa. The conditions are only going to become exponentially more dramatic and drastic as crowds increase by tenfold each year and as the climate continues to attempt to address our relentless demands vs responsible stewardship.
So... "heavy rain and cold" are the problem now? Just last week it was global warming... And just how will the crowd increase tenfold each year? Do you realize that would be 730,000 people in just the first year, and over 7 million in the second? 🤔🤔🤔
@@Jreb1865 Hey, Daniel! I'm not sure if you are entirely replying to me. Not sure when we were talking about global warming last week; perhaps you can refresh my memory. I did not say that the was a problem or introduce the topic of global warming in any way. As for attendance, an increasing number of people attend virtually which requires its own resource load and one that is not insignificant. The combined totals are substantial. Sorry to disturb your thinking process.

Yea it seems like we can’t have anything anymore without some kind of ‘diversity’ opinion or lecture these days 🙄I wonder how it would go over if a white person went to an Indian festival and bemoan the fact that there are few white people?? Hypocrisy and ignorance

Sorry to disturb your thinking process.
thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!! I preparing for my first Burn at age 64. many of these 'how to' BM videos are pretty aweful and no help at all. You guys nailed it.
Oh my god, that’s lovely that this video was helpful in bringing some understanding to this overwhelming planning stage that we all are in at this time.
After this video I've decided that I'll definitely attend Bm in my lifetime for sure
Most informative video I've found, thank you ❤
You two just made me miss the burn so much. I hope to take my mini out there next year or the year after.
This was amazing information! Thank you!
16:33 is such a profound statement 👑 thank you
Well done. It was both interesting and informative.
Thanks
Very nice video! Thank you
Great detail...I enjoyed your BM video !! Thanks :)
Great video guys. Hopefully see you on the playa!
I'm from Ireland, I've tried getting tickets too with no luck. It's in the top 5 of my bucket list. Hopefully, one day before I become dust.
Thank you so much for this video, it’s gonna be first time for me and I’ll be alone without any camping 😄 I hope I can do that 🤍
Oh it will be equally amazing, make friends with neighbours and come to our camp if you want some shade or centre camp :)
This is the first time I come to know beyond traveling
Nice information 🙏
This video was amazing! Love you guys! I wanna be in your camp! Great energy & so much helpful info! Thx & bless! 🙏🏼
Our pleasure! Please come and visit us at the playa ❤
my heart mind and soul will be wth you❤
This was absolutely the best video I’ve seen on introducing a person to Burning Man. Thank you so, so much! Are you going in 2023?
Yes we are headed there this year too
i am very nervous. we are arriving for the final 4 days of the event and i dont think there will be space! you guys did a great job on this video
There will be safe don’t worry.
Awesome video!! Well rounded. Thank u!!
Great Job with your video, you kind of said it all.
Awesome video! I’ve heard of BM but didn’t fully understand it until now. If I could turn back the clock 20 yrs I’d be first in line. 😅
Looks fun. I think it would be nice if there were sponsorships for low income attendees to truly make it inclusive.
There are
Visually BM looks very cool (and easily overwhelming) but I have no desire to go through all that, none!! 😆 And the monetary cost... Jayzuz!!
hahah it is intense
This is THE CLOSEST video ive seen to what Burning Man is like... even thought it is still off a bit...
But if u showing your "burngin" this video isn't a bad idea... unlike almost ALL other videos
Thanks for making this video, super informative ❤
When you said the city is arranged like a clock it reminded me of the arena in the second book of hunger games lol
Hahah definitely feels like it
Thanks for the info my friend and I are driving from Toronto this year you had lots of good stuff to think about
Hi.. If your coming down I-80 from the east, The town of Fernley is the last good stop for supply's, there's most of the big box stores there.. What I tell people going for the first time, think 2nd hand stores and color , like sequins and clashing colors / Tiny hat and big shoes..x steam punk candy raver..x cow boy boots..
See you there ❤️
Any advice on best socks to wear to hold up for all day walking with the weather???? ❤
Hey we got the Costco brand not woolen but the tall ones where no dust gets in. I can find the brand name for you.
Thanks for sharing !!
Loved your video but l wonder is there any festival like this that's more diverse and maybe not in the desert😅
Yea it seems like we can’t have anything anymore without some kind of ‘diversity’ opinion or lecture these days 🙄I wonder how it would go over if a white person went to an Indian festival and bemoan the fact that there are few white people?? Hypocrisy and ignorance
Nice ❤🎉
I gotta say, it kind of looks like fun. A week ago I wouldn't have said that.
