  • Lisa Cunningham is the only Australian woman to ever face the death penalty in the United States. The Adelaide mum could be executed by lethal injection over the first degree murder of her stepdaughter. This epic legal battle, underway in Arizona, is anything but clear-cut. Cunningham was charged after seven-year-old Sanaa died in hospital, which she claims was because of poor medical treatment. But prosecutors are accusing Cunningham and her husband of systematic child abuse and neglect. Matt Doran speaks to her in an exclusive interview.

And by a string of medical professionals, one of whom allegedly prescribed strong medication to a child he/she never examined: Anti-psychotic medications can have serious toxic side effects even in adults, never mind children. The liver, kidneys, digestive system, skin, eyes & brain can be heavily impacted. Meanwhile, I love it how mothers who don't have custody of their children & who seemingly did little to nothing to help their children whilst they could have. Crawl out of the woodwork, with their SJW lawyers, when the same children die: Playing the victim. But where was this little girls biological mother when her little girl needed her? Last year I had a bit of cold and a cough that lingered on for about 3 weeks. My Dr said that I didn't need antibiotics and I need to just ride it out. One night I went to bed feeling fine after working all day. I woke up around 2am with pain in my ribs and was shaking. I took paracetamol, it didn't work. After about 1 hour, I called an ambulance, my temp was 41. Long story short, I had pneumonia and because it was not treated, the infection spread to my blood, therefore Sepsis. I ended up in ICU for a couple of days. Then, I was transferred to the Respiratory Failure ward and was there for another week. My point is, Sepsis can come on fast and IT can kill. I am so thankful for the life saving treatment I received. I live in Australia.

    This child wasn't murdered nor neglected. This took ten months building a false case due to a biological mothers anger (BTW where was this biological mother when the child is WAS alive and suffering?) pushed along by a gung-ho Pastor/Lawyer/ ex-cop who is a touch too excited about this prosecution to be unbiased. Oh wait then people would know all the symptoms were made up or did you forget most were never seen by a doctor just told to them by Lisa and well they had to shop around to get one to do what they wanted. As for the stepmother bs, this couple were given pass after pass when the police and dcs were called on then by multiple witnesses including a neighbor due to there relationship with the criminal justice system. They obviously could not handle the emotional toll it took on them to care for her. Smh they deserve to be in prison. But there is a huge lesson to be learned. As difficult and heartbreaking as it would have been. I would have put her in a home where she could have gotten proper care. And continued to be actively involved in her treatment.

      My issue with people passing judgment on what they “would have done” is that you don’t really know unless you have been or are in the situation. While I haven’t been around a schizophrenic child, I’ve had close contact with a schizophrenic adult. It’s like nothing you can ever imagine. I have seen people reach out for help again and again and, I can’t speak for the US, but where I’m at hospitals will resist taking a patient long term while there is family around…even if that family is no longer coping. Very sad. I wish there was more support in society for severe mental illness.

I was at a mall just having lunch at the outside cafe, and a kid on a skateboard came flying past grabbed my bag and next thing I know the kid was (so it seemed) doing a flip mid air.... a young American fella arm barred him and his mates held him on the ground until the police arrived... I was furious as I had carefully wrapped in my bag a glass blown figurine as a present for my mum.... it was completely destroyed. When I gave my statement to the police, I was so angry and agitated that one of the officers handed me a bottle water sat me down and asked silly questions about australia until he had be laughing.... then he said, much better - how about we try this statement again.
      Done. That was it to my experience with american officers.....

      Being a loving parent of a special child, I can say the parents did not have a role in this child’s death. I think the child was misdiagnosed, as my son has been. I think the cry for help as a parent is REAL and this mother did just that. I think the pastor/lawyer who recited all his positions in his life as if he’s God and the know it all, has zero experience with special needs children especially the behavior of this child; very similar to my son and it’s tough. But as tough as it is, you love them so much, sometimes more than other children. I think the punishments were a bit harsh, but I believe the parents had absolutely no idea the severity of this child’s mental dysfunction. These children do not want to be this way, but they can’t help themselves. The worst part of all this is there really is no help because no one knows how to treat these children. It is so difficult and unless you walked in my shoes and this mother’s shoes, trust me, you have no idea.

Germayne and Lisa are right where they're suppose to be... Her autopsy said sepsis... They allowed her to lay in bed, after beating and abusing her, and not get treated which allowed allowed infection to set in.... Hence the sepsis.... When Na'a was buried, she laid in that casket with bruises (and proof of abuse) all over her little body AND a huge knot on her head. They couldn't get her the help she needed bc they were too busy covering all that they had been doing to her. They thought they would continue to get away with it but you won't get away long when you mess with one of God's innocent angels. Now her sister and mother continue to heal...

And putting them in a mental institution would be just as bad for the child if not worse. They loved her too much to do that to her. I don’t expect people that haven’t experienced schizophrenic in some way to understand.

You’ve gotta understand the suffering of not just the child and parents …but the small siblings also. A schizophrenic child is no easy task let me tell ya. Sepsis wasn't caused by any drug, it was the hole in her foot. Poor girl had a hole in her foot, that wasn't medically seen to. Imagine the pain she was going through. If she had got the treatment she needed, she just might have survived. The drug however could have caused the Pneumonia.
      Have you read the texts?

    This poor girl was suffering from beginning, her untreated infection lead to her Blood poison and mental ailment. Forget about a therapist. Was she physically evaluated by a pediatrician. Regarding her physical health. Like blood work, blood pressure, brain scan, stuff like that. Also why is a 6 yr old who is sick picking up feces. Remember anyone can be incriminated against. If what i just heard is true , and the doctor prescribed medicine without an evaluation, the mom should be held accountable for not seeking proper medical attention for her ill baby. This did not happen overnight.

      I'm sorry but it doesn't work like that. Arizona is a long way outside the jurisdiction of Australian law. The crime (if the little child were murdered) was committed in America, the victim (again, assuming she was murdered) was American, the father is American.

    • @MultiChrisjb
      @MultiChrisjb 4 года назад +3

      That doesn't make sense legally, in either the Australian or US law system. You are tried in the jurisdiction that you allegedly committed the crime. Its why people are extradited from say Queensland to Victoria, to stand trial.
