It is amazing too that the students became active in preservation and sharing of history. As a social studies teacher, I feel honored to see and hear the truth.
Inspiring were the Japanese-American volunteers who wanted to fight Imperial Japan to prove their patriotism... untrusted, they were sent to fight in Italy instead. Highest decorated volunteer army unit in the war. 🇺🇲🍻
It's a fascinating subject with a lot of details that are not taught in schools today. You have to get a good reference of original WWII war sources like 50 Common Myths About Japanese-Americans and the Atomic Bomb in WWII: The Non-PC Answers You Will Not Find on Wikipedia.
Schools whitewash the subject I remember it was a few weeks in history class watching old BW films of people playing baseball, and gardening in what looked like a boy scout camp. I had a friend who's parents were from Southern California they lost their strawberry farm over 100 acres because of this. Today the land has homes built on it worth over 1/4 - 1/2 billion dollars. The land was stolen from them by a developer who had friends in the county tax office. When they tax didn't get paid they retitled it in his name.
@@Mike-01234 No, they didn't "own" it, no more than you could own a farm in Japan, then or now. Get the book for the full story that is not on Wiki or MSM. They probably leased it and violated (or expired) the lease. Japan will still not allow YOU to buy and own 100 acres, even today.
We don't have any freedoms in America. Just ask an imprisoned Japanese American. You only get freedom when the American government lets you have. We still owe what we stoled from these people. I was a long haul Trucker. I been by the internment camps. Most in the middle of nowhere Idaho,Nevada i hate those states.😢😢

@@lauriey6089 Talking about reciprocity. RECIPROCAL rights. Chinese received full naturalization rights, with property and civil rights, in the U.S. in 1943. An American still has NO rights in China today, in 2024. It's the same for an American in Japan.
While the video proper does state "American..." the caption obtusely describes as "Japanese"! Indeed, it would be a Japanese (i*) camp _if it were run by the government of Japan incarcerating Americans, British, and others from hostile nations!
If you grew up hearing about Jesus all your life, but you've never had a personal relationship with Him and put your trust in faith in what He has done for you on the cross, now is the time to get saved. He is coming back real soon and you don't want to be in this world after He takes His children home.
Japanese Americans like my parents rarely talked about it.

Reparations for Native Americans, and reparations for Asian Americans but not one penny for African Americans.
