I agree wholeheartedly, plus a lot of the weapons follow this pattern where you empty a good portion of the mag into them and they have enough life that you can just melee them. I really enjoy that system, but this is one of the few weapons that don't follow this pattern, and I dont like it.

I mastered sword but I'm stuck in plat with it, it's like the place where people start to shoot well or you may say they are just sweaty, but in this place your sword skill like movement and proper agression won't be able to save you anymore, as someone clever said, good aim beats good movement
in general, I won't put it in competitive, I switched to sh1900, movement skill gained on sword is very handy with this weapon, I suggest switching to it if you struggle with sword like me
this is actually the first vid that someone sees how good sword is. ive been maining it this season and is so much easier to use than last season. all u got to do is get good frag grenade placement, good unpredictable movement, and doing that lunge super dash thing. it takes some time to use effectively, but takes a long time to master it. if u know how to use vanish bomb and gateway to support your team, evasive dash + sword + frag grenade + vanish bomb + gateway can be the best build in the game
As some one with 200 hrs with the sword. Wiping 2 teams solo is exhilarating. I get hit reg issues with sword and spear some days. But that sword buff for charge attack was the chefs kiss
I get what you mean, hopefully embark can find a way to make light more consistent without destroying its identity. I love the aggressive playstyle, hopefully more weapons can compete in the future

There is a lot of interesting things they could do for dual blades. It being a melee weapon, it naturally doesn't need to reload, which frees up a keybind for another ability they could give it. Hell, this applies to all melee weapons. It'd be neat if dual blades got a short dash on a reasonable mid cooldown an jus bind it to reload.
The best thing about the M11 is that you don't need to ADS at close (even medium) range to be accurate. That's its biggest advantage, and why it is so powerful.
For the dual blades your rework sounds like a nerf which they definately do not need. As an avid user of the blades I feel they need better block registration as half the time it doesnt register due to server issues, lag or sime other issue. (Yes i know it doesnt block all directions, im talking about deflecting a person in front of me that i am staring at in which i block and still take full damage). I also think if they made the deflection slightly more accurate (also likely a server side issue) it would be more up to par with the other weapons without making durastic changes to it.
Fellow 1/4 dual blades main here. This. Also it doesn't help that attack swings seem to have a queue system so you can't block in between swings you have already pressed the button for. And I swear, the swing arc for blades is abysmal.
I main Dual Blades and you’re completely right with everything you said and for some reason the deflect mechanic for the blades are definitely broken this season.. i feel like every other fight it either works or doesnt work at all

Also slightly faster swing speed would be nice too. Can we also talk about the slice view inspect doesn’t always work. I love spinning the blades and it only works like 1/10 times
I like using grappling hook with the sword. Maybe I'm playing it wrong, but I love the finer control over where I land + travel distance to get to a target. It works with my playstyle since I don't jab all the time (and therefore don't have a need to duck in and out). I start with jab then start swinging (1 swing for lights, 2 for meds, 3 for heavies after a jab)
This is the first tier list that actually understands light weapons lmao Usually its just XP, LH1, and the Shotty (forgot the name) all in overtuned, and everything else in niche. Sniper, sword, imo dagger, and the bow too - all of these are deadly with the right kind of aggressive playstyle.
This is probably best tier list Ive seen on youtube. The only weapon I really disagree with is the famas rating, Id put it in competitive. KS-23 represent! I switched to Heavy in S3 and mained KS-23, it fucking slaps. The issue with the KS-23 is how punishing it is, and the lack of a headshot mult for a skill cannon. Your damage can be out healed easily, which is the worst. With 100 damage per shot, it takes 3 shots to kill a medium, if they get more than 50 healing while you are shooting them, it goes to a 4 shot kill. Thats like 2-3 business days. I've had more than a couple of times when i dont have rpg or charge and slam and im shooting the guy stealing, and cant kill him because hes getting healed.
On a side note, the XP 54 was such a strong weapon that excels just in any range melts everything on its path and obviously it became a fast favorite for me. I do still use it and its still consistent, although its less consistent in getting kills if you know what im saying. This is a very good tier list though i can agree on the most part, you've earned yourself a sub :)
I love the KS-23. It's absolutely a competitive weapon, but I do think it could use some love for the sake of its consistency. The inability to penetrate soft cover like trees, bushes, furniture, and handrails really hurts it in certain areas. Giving it the ability to wallbang for reduced damage would be a nice change. Personally, I'd also like the ability to actually use the iron sights on the weapon model. I don't know why they added those and then made it hipfire only.
Flamethrower with goo nades,anti gravity, and frags plus either Goo gun, slam, claw any 3 work just use which one your best with or like the most. Throw the anti grav on your opponents then torch them as they fly you can also throw frags and/or goo nades in it both for dmg nades well self explained and goo as it breaks or sticks it will catch fire keeping your enemies burned also being able to keep them trapped.
i saw everyone saying the sword is good, i never really tried it, i started a quick cashout, and won with 17 kills without ever plaing it ahah, i can confirm the comments !
Re: M-11 vs XP-54, ive found that if the other teams are mostly mediums and heavies, the M-11 doesnt output quite enough damage to dominate. The XP seems to do better if you can control the recoil at mid / mid-long range, but if its largely mediums and lights, the lower recoil on the M-11 is good enough
saying the model isn’t overturned is crazy. it’s the best medium weapon, and arguably the best weapon in the game. every diamond/top 500 team i play against has at least 2 running MMM and almost always 2 when HMM
Also the MGL can be a good dmg weapon but i have mained it since season 1 and its really good but ive been saying that the MGL is more a support weapon with good area dmg and good distraction making it easier for your tm8s to get easy kills and wipes from it.
I am also a long time MGL enjoyer so it's always nice to see a tier list that doesn't completely dog on it because they don't get it. "Niche" is the perfect place for a weapon that requires so much trial and error to get anything out of but man when it works it works.
@@feldspar1000 I agree and I've been telling people since season 1 that MGL is more of a support weapon then I have a grenade launcher I am going to kill and destroy everything kinda weapon but I feel like people thinking I'm just talking bs loll but if you have a really good team that you have good team work with the area DMG and chaos of the MGL makes for easy wipes at times
As far as the dagger goes I've only recently started using it through a loadout randomizer, but I swear it has the highest highs and lowest lows I've had playing this game and just hacking away at heavies after missing the backstab is hilarious.
Sniper and pike are both good guns but sniper on light has stuff to make holes in walls to use The range aspect so I like them both but use them differently
M11 is fine, agree with pike being overturned (def needs a fire rate nerf), model is def overturned as well though (The damage is questionable but it def needs some kind of range drop-off so double/triple model teams are not viable)
As someone that uses the dagger alot, I personally don't like the change to the dagger. Getting the timing right for that charge in the heat of combat is really way to hard to do. If they had a visual que as to when it's charged maybe it would fix it for me idk
I feel ya, the new charge mechanic can be a bit frustrating, but I think it's more rewarding once you get the timing down. Who knows though, I'm a sword kinda skeleton
I think they should do the same with the sword. The sword has a small window where it REALLY looks like it is charged, but it isn’t quite ready. I think they should add a small client-sided flash on the tip of the blade for both the sword and the dagger to indicate that they are charged, I think that would be quite tasteful as well as a wonderful QOL change.
I think they could fix some weapons with better risk/reward mindset. You can nerf pike but still give a good headshot multiplier to reward the players with better aim and experience on the weapon. Same thing applies to the sniper, it should return back to being a "beam", the weapon is super inconsistent and the play rate dropped. They could have nerfed its body damage and give a better headshot multiplier. The weapon still be usefull and rewarding over a long ranged matchup.
I think its well earned. Its a "strong" niche pick because within its effective range, you can kill people really fast (light in 2 shots, medium in 3, etc.). Its arguably the best shotgun in the hands of the most flexible class in the game, but i think i get your point. Its not a jack of all trades, its a shotgun with a very tight pellet spread so missing a shot is detrimental, and the range isn't "AR" great so you need to pick your fights.

I thought this was a pretty good list. While I’m not great with the SA1216 shotgun, I’ve heard it’s time to kill is 1 second or less for all classes (light being 0.39) and it’s exclusively used by heavies at higher levels, so that should probably go in overturned
I actually think model is the most broken thing in the game rn it’s so dominant in high ranked and I think the same could be said for casual since anyone who’s decent with it will curb stomp casual players

Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but ive been trying to get good with the Pike and just can't have good games with it. Half the time I just get out DPS'd, sometimes even if I get the first shot.
A fifth round in the CL40 is of little consequence. It doesn’t help the slow TTK / slow RoF. The self-damage multiplier is ridiculously high. Why any weapons self-dmg beyond x1.0 is idiotic.
I feel like the Lewis Gun and the M60 are inversed here? It seems to me like Lewis has significantly better hipfire performance up close than the M60 does, consistently dropping Mediums in fewer rounds fired; meanwhile the M60 has way worse hipfire but has the benefit of less zig-zaggy recoil and a good red dot sight, which lends itself well to mid-range tracking and suppression. Maybe its a skill issue, but after the first 10 shots, the Lewis veers hard to the right, and then twists back to the left. That makes it very hard for me to track with at mid to long range, especially with its iron sights. MG doesn't seem to have this problem. Am I off base here?
if famas had the slightest bit more damage per round like 5 points it would be better otherwise its good range forgiving burst accurate hipfire easy to manage mag size and agreeable reload time makes it amazing but ive just used it for an entire season so i probably just got it more figured out than someone that changes weapons or uses something else religously
Its aim is really forgiving and it doesn’t have much recoil. It’s easy to start using, but if you get more experienced with it then it’s really solid (in contrast to the fcar. I main the fcar, the first few days was HELL)

I agree with all of these rankings. M-11 and the pike are next on the nerfing block for sure. Other than that it feels like a fairly balanced state. I main throwing knives and almost shit when you were hovering over "ok". They are competitive, but definitely high skill cap and therefore "niche" probably. My dog could play m-11 stun and do well...
Why would the M11 out of all things need a nerf? A class designed to output high DPS should get nerfed because you allow the Light to get within kill range? Stop dumbing down the game and play smarter

Weapons like the bow melee weapon and (people will hate this one and its mostly about the heavy's but) grenade launchers have the highest skill gabs if you understand these weapons to a T and you are good with them and play around them they can be just as good as meta weapons and meta plays. My ex to prove this is sword and the difference between top players with sword and random sword players. Both usung same weapons abilities and most of the time gadgets as well but there is a huge difference in skill level with it. This can be seen with most other melee weapons as well as weapons like the sniper, bow, slug shotty, dagger, etc. so yea
Buffing the damage on a Light weapon is such a strange and bizarre decision from Embark, it feels like there's a clear bias towards Lights in this game, even with the CL40 and Pike existing, 'cus they were real quick to nerf those. For every buff to a Light gun, there are 2-3 nerfs to Medium and Heavy's loadouts, if it keeps going like this, people are gonna leave and the game will only be played be sweaty Lights running around one-shotting each other, how fun
i don't know, this season they nerfed the main gun that was keeping light competitive. light doesn't really have a clear place in the game right now, its defiantly the weakest class and has been pretty much since the beginning. yes, they have high dps, but they're so squishy that they're super easy to deal with. lights are easy to counter. pike is just overpowered, i play medium and I'll get killed from half-way across the map. and playing against a team stacking CL40 just isn't fun.

I don't know what gamemodes you play, but I only play Quick Cash, and EVERY, GAME, the Lights on the other teams DOMINATE in terms of kills, damage, and just being oppressive and a nuisance. Even if numbers say that Lights are the weakest class, they're in my opinion and experience, the MOST overpowered class BY FAR. Even when playing with friends and having voiced communication, we get smacked around by the Lights, they're just, not, fun to play against, ever. As you said yourself, they feel like they don't have a place in this game? Then just remove them entirely, OR EVEN BETTER, give us a new gamemode where you can't play Light, I would switch to that gamemode and never leave it again in a SNAP.
And yes keep in mind that I don't play or know anything about the ranked/competitive gamemodes, I don't play them or want to play them, I just want to play this game "casually" with friends in Quick Cash and that's it, and in that gamemode and in my experience, Lights are way too good and dominate every match 95% of the time

i did the math, it now does 90% of the previous dps. i think it made it a little easier to use, and because it does more damage, your shots count for more and you get more damage per mag. i think it's a fine balance change, but something to get used to. i don't know though, i don't play it too often.

You can’t give us your layout of niche weapons and then say the ks23 is competitive. Because by your own definition, “in the wrong hands…” Take away every gadget and special with the AKM, you will still get kills. Now you try using the KS23 without your loadout and post the footage. Well no, not period but I see your point. What separates the KS-23 from niche and even ok is its versatility. It's a high damage weapon up close, decent at mid range, can even poke at long range, and can break walls. If Embark buffed it's damage, it would most definitely be oppressive. As it stands now, putting the KS-23 in the same tier as the bow and dagger just feels inconsistent. Also its kinda unrealistic to expect people to play without gadgets seeing as every ranking on this list took specializations & gadget synergies into account. Once again, I hope this didn't come off as rude, I definitely see your point, but even the average player can see success with the KS-23.

i feel a revert on the xp-54 or the damage revert (keep the range nerf on the xp) would give the competition the m11 needs.

The famas has the highest ttk against mediums and heavys (amongst medium ars)

Spear has faster ttk then sledge hammer if you do two heavy attacks. Also, utility for spear, you can move cash box in tight spot if needed.

I am also a long time MGL enjoyer so it's always nice to see a tier list that doesn't completely dog on it because they don't get it. "Niche" is the perfect place for a weapon that requires so much trial and error to get anything out of but man when it works it works.
@@feldspar1000 I agree and I've been telling people since season 1 that MGL is more of a support weapon then I have a grenade launcher I am going to kill and destroy everything kinda weapon but I feel like people thinking I'm just talking bs loll but if you have a really good team that you have good team work with the area DMG and chaos of the MGL makes for easy wipes at times
Really underrated weapon.
As far as the dagger goes I've only recently started using it through a loadout randomizer, but I swear it has the highest highs and lowest lows I've had playing this game and just hacking away at heavies after missing the backstab is hilarious.
This might be the most fair tier list.
The pike nerf needs to have the gun fire projectile shots past 25 meters like the SR84 sniper to make an accurate and not devastating nerf.
If the KS 23 had better ammo economy it would definitely be competitive. It's just a bit too unforgiving to be good. Still my favorite gun
Sniper and pike are both good guns but sniper on light has stuff to make holes in walls to use The range aspect so I like them both but use them differently
m11 take is crazy as light as a class is pretty weak right now considering all the high damage guns we got this season ngl

M11 by itself though is a beast close range, absolutely deletes people. Although light class as a whole kinda sucks rn you’re right about that.

M11 is fine, agree with pike being overturned (def needs a fire rate nerf), model is def overturned as well though (The damage is questionable but it def needs some kind of range drop-off so double/triple model teams are not viable)
As someone that uses the dagger alot, I personally don't like the change to the dagger. Getting the timing right for that charge in the heat of combat is really way to hard to do. If they had a visual que as to when it's charged maybe it would fix it for me idk
I feel ya, the new charge mechanic can be a bit frustrating, but I think it's more rewarding once you get the timing down. Who knows though, I'm a sword kinda skeleton
I think they should do the same with the sword. The sword has a small window where it REALLY looks like it is charged, but it isn’t quite ready. I think they should add a small client-sided flash on the tip of the blade for both the sword and the dagger to indicate that they are charged, I think that would be quite tasteful as well as a wonderful QOL change.
I think they could fix some weapons with better risk/reward mindset. You can nerf pike but still give a good headshot multiplier to reward the players with better aim and experience on the weapon. Same thing applies to the sniper, it should return back to being a "beam", the weapon is super inconsistent and the play rate dropped. They could have nerfed its body damage and give a better headshot multiplier. The weapon still be usefull and rewarding over a long ranged matchup.
Yh on release I was surprised on how close the hs and bs damage is together. Might as well not bother going for the head atm lol

I think its well earned. Its a "strong" niche pick because within its effective range, you can kill people really fast (light in 2 shots, medium in 3, etc.). Its arguably the best shotgun in the hands of the most flexible class in the game, but i think i get your point. Its not a jack of all trades, its a shotgun with a very tight pellet spread so missing a shot is detrimental, and the range isn't "AR" great so you need to pick your fights.

@@alethebest2350 nah the model 1887 is relatively untouched since long. Its just that people are slowly start to realize that the gun is surprisingly strong.

While I’m not great with the SA1216 shotgun, I’ve heard it’s time to kill is 1 second or less for all classes (light being 0.39) and it’s exclusively used by heavies at higher levels, so that should probably go in overturned

Your dual sword rework recommendation sounds like a nerf, tbh. But, I do agree, that they need a rework. It's a tricky one for sure. I am curious to know what people's suggestions are.
Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but ive been trying to get good with the Pike and just can't have good games with it. Half the time I just get out DPS'd, sometimes even if I get the first shot.
A fifth round in the CL40 is of little consequence. It doesn’t help the slow TTK / slow RoF. The self-damage multiplier is ridiculously high. Why any weapons self-dmg beyond x1.0 is idiotic.

I feel like the Lewis Gun and the M60 are inversed here? It seems to me like Lewis has significantly better hipfire performance up close than the M60 does, consistently dropping Mediums in fewer rounds fired; meanwhile the M60 has way worse hipfire but has the benefit of less zig-zaggy recoil and a good red dot sight, which lends itself well to mid-range tracking and suppression.
Maybe its a skill issue, but after the first 10 shots, the Lewis veers hard to the right, and then twists back to the left. That makes it very hard for me to track with at mid to long range, especially with its iron sights. MG doesn't seem to have this problem.
Am I off base here?
if famas had the slightest bit more damage per round like 5 points it would be better otherwise its good range forgiving burst accurate hipfire easy to manage mag size and agreeable reload time makes it amazing but ive just used it for an entire season so i probably just got it more figured out than someone that changes weapons or uses something else religously
Its aim is really forgiving and it doesn’t have much recoil. It’s easy to start using, but if you get more experienced with it then it’s really solid (in contrast to the fcar. I main the fcar, the first few days was HELL)

Everything I agree with besides the dual blades! If they made a cool down for that weapon you might as well just take the weapon out of the game because it would be completely useless
In a close range 1v1 against a heavy with deagles, crouch spamming will win you the fight 90% of the time. At mid range nothing beats the deagles.

I agree with all of these rankings. M-11 and the pike are next on the nerfing block for sure. Other than that it feels like a fairly balanced state. I main throwing knives and almost shit when you were hovering over "ok". They are competitive, but definitely high skill cap and therefore "niche" probably. My dog could play m-11 stun and do well...
Why would the M11 out of all things need a nerf? A class designed to output high DPS should get nerfed because you allow the Light to get within kill range?

@@lochnesserl8654 I agree, light should generally do higher dps given their low hp, but that is a different topic. As discussed in the video the m11 needs balanced a hair to bring it in line with the other competitive weapons. the gun being "overtuned" is actually what "dumbs down the game".
The V9S with sight is insane and easy to hit headshots
I mean i suppose this is for the general playerbase and not comoetitive but the revolver and model being next to each is crazy, however i disagree with most of these tierlists but im a top 50 player where everyone runs the same loadout
Weapons like the bow melee weapon and (people will hate this one and its mostly about the heavy's but) grenade launchers have the highest skill gabs if you understand these weapons to a T and you are good with them and play around them they can be just as good as meta weapons and meta plays. My ex to prove this is sword and the difference between top players with sword and random sword players. Both usung same weapons abilities and most of the time gadgets as well but there is a huge difference in skill level with it. This can be seen with most other melee weapons as well as weapons like the sniper, bow, slug shotty, dagger, etc. so yea

Buffing the damage on a Light weapon is such a strange and bizarre decision from Embark, it feels like there's a clear bias towards Lights in this game, even with the CL40 and Pike existing, 'cus they were real quick to nerf those.
For every buff to a Light gun, there are 2-3 nerfs to Medium and Heavy's loadouts, if it keeps going like this, people are gonna leave and the game will only be played be sweaty Lights running around one-shotting each other, how fun
i don't know, this season they nerfed the main gun that was keeping light competitive. light doesn't really have a clear place in the game right now, its defiantly the weakest class and has been pretty much since the beginning. yes, they have high dps, but they're so squishy that they're super easy to deal with. lights are easy to counter. pike is just overpowered, i play medium and I'll get killed from half-way across the map. and playing against a team stacking CL40 just isn't fun.
@@silasrock4663 Just like playing against Lights aren't fun. I don't know what gamemodes you play, but I only play Quick Cash, and EVERY, GAME, the Lights on the other teams DOMINATE in terms of kills, damage, and just being oppressive and a nuisance.
Even if numbers say that Lights are the weakest class, they're in my opinion and experience, the MOST overpowered class BY FAR. Even when playing with friends and having voiced communication, we get smacked around by the Lights, they're just, not, fun to play against, ever.
As you said yourself, they feel like they don't have a place in this game? Then just remove them entirely, OR EVEN BETTER, give us a new gamemode where you can't play Light, I would switch to that gamemode and never leave it again in a SNAP.
And yes keep in mind that I don't play or know anything about the ranked/competitive gamemodes, I don't play them or want to play them, I just want to play this game "casually" with friends in Quick Cash and that's it, and in that gamemode and in my experience, Lights are way too good and dominate every match 95% of the time
@@fakskis yeah, they're pretty good an dcan be really annoying in quick cash, that's fair. i mostly play world tour or ranked, so the re-spawn is a lot more punishing. they're fun to play though, and they're the most played class, so i think the game would suffer if they were removed. it's just a matter of countering them. model and AK shreds lights. you're all good though, we're all entitled to our own opinions. have a good one. :)

i did the math, it now does 90% of the previous dps. i think it made it a little easier to use, and because it does more damage, your shots count for more and you get more damage per mag. i think it's a fine balance change, but something to get used to. i don't know though, i don't play it too often.

Take away every gadget and special with the AKM, you will still get kills. Now you try using the KS23 without your loadout and post the footage. It’s niche, period.
Well no, not period but I see your point. What separates the KS-23 from niche and even ok is its versatility. It's a high damage weapon up close, decent at mid range, can even poke at long range, and can break walls. If Embark buffed it's damage, it would most definitely be oppressive. As it stands now, putting the KS-23 in the same tier as the bow and dagger just feels inconsistent. Also its kinda unrealistic to expect people to play without gadgets seeing as every ranking on this list took specializations & gadget synergies into account. Once again, I hope this didn't come off as rude, I definitely see your point, but even the average player can see success with the KS-23.
