    We got lucky last year and had no one with us. So it was truly creepy and better than Brighton, Headless Horseman and Blood Manor. We loved it. But if we were with a ton of people. It would have sucked I'm sure. But that's any haunted house with too many people.

      Agreed. Choke points help though. There was just no effort made despite there being different parts and plenty of oppotrunity to separate people.

    I just like the fact that it's 10 or less minutes away from my house. I go every 2-3 years so it doesn't get to old on me

    • @hauntnation8318

      No real jump scares that we saw. Some good sets and animatronics and a few good costumes, but we had a scaredy cat with us who didn't get scared once.

    Completely agree with you, I went this past friday and was so disappointed, very overhyped and not worth it at all, barely any actors throughout, idk if this is how it is every year but idk how they keep making money with the attraction I saw friday night

      I've been there in the past and it's been better, but it just never seems to get great. I figured the lack of actors may just have been because it was opening night, but it's unfortunate that it seems persistent. Sorry to hear you had a meh time. Hopefully you'll get to a better haunt this season.

    This haunt is better than Brighton or 13th hour feel like you guys hype them up to much. I agree with you guys on the “midway” it needs work kind of depressing at the end. Price is way to high for admission. Good sets cool location I will be back! Also was not a fan of the long boring walk back to the parking lot. But not a bad ride from westchester county ny.

      Alex, I'm glad you enjoyed this haunt. That's the reason we review; we love haunts and want people to have the best time, especially for their money.
      As far as this being better than Brighton or 13th Hour, I'll respectfully disagree. Is it longer? Absolutely, but the set pieces and costumes are far better at the other 2. Remember, we also rate on experience and price. On a regular day this haunt is almost twice as expensive, and the fact that we had a conga from about the third attraction that lasted throughout killed the experience for us. I've also been there a few times (other seasons) before and I think last season was the worst I've been to.
      Thanks for watching and I hope to see you out there during haunt season! If you see us, come say hi!

    You went opening night(s), maybe you should have gone after and and gave an HONEST review. This isn't an accurate review. Thumbs down.

    • @hauntnation8318
      @hauntnation8318  3 года назад +2

      It IS an honest review, and we DID mention it was opening night (as you mentioned). I really don't understand people being pissed about a 5,6,or 7. A 5 is dead middle average. Vanilla. Let me ask you, and be honest. Shouldn't the first and last night be as great as any other? A Sunday or Thursday as good as a Saturday? If you went to a concert to see your favorite band and it was the first night of their tour do they get a pass if the show is trash? I'm going to guess NO. Restaurants and theater live and die on early reviews - haunts have 6-8 operating weeks per season, and usually only 3 days a week for that, with WEEKS of rehearsal beforehand. As a professional haunt there's no excuse for "bad nights". We've been to MANY haunts on opening night and weekends and they've been great - just not Pure Terror. Also it was busy! Here's another idea: don't make the only discount night of the season opening night if its not going to be good, because there are a LOT of people that will go and will judge you on that night.
      I've been to Pure Terror several times before in different years - including THEIR first year - and it's NEVER been great, but always has been a bit better than this time. The haunt wasn't great, it was just OK. THAT'S the truth.

      @@hauntnation8318 many would differ, you seem to be a part of the 1% who think other wise. This haunt has had nothing but great reviews and its not a moving act. Its a single place that changes every year and so do the actors. Its not a one man show, not every actor is like the previous or the next. You are taking something that is out of someone's control and using it against them. And unless you can prove that you've gone more than just once a year, your not a creditable source. You're just someone who "didn't get scared" and made a video.

    • @hauntnation8318
      @hauntnation8318  3 года назад

      We never said it's a moving act. Pay attention. As to once a year, we go to as many haunts as we can during a season - always over 12 (I've PERSONALLY done 5 in one night). Watch some of our other reviews and you'll see that.
      Some actors change, some don't. If they all change yearly, I'd say you have retention issues. We've seen some of the same actors year after year at haunts like Brighton Asylum and 13th hour in NJ. You should check them out. They're both very good, and no, we have no business affiliation with either.
      As to other reviews, some may be staff or friends, but I'll guess most are people who come out to MAYBE one haunt a year and they actually had a good time. That's great. I'm genuinely happy for them. I'll bet if they actually are haunt enthusiasts and go to several places a season they would tend to be "in the 1%" and agree with us. Again, we had a newbie with us who jumps and yeeps at everything and they got NOT ONE scare. Add to that our review was a 6.5 and a 5. Very average, not terrible, and I don't get the hostility.

      @@hauntnation8318 you are comparing it to a moving act like a concert or of something similar. This haunt changes every year, somethings aren't perfect all the time. Opening night could mean anything from really good to really bad. And also you were using someone ahead of you taking all the scares. Maybe instead, try to separate more of ask to go ahead. You say you've been going every year, but I find that super hard to believe. If you say its not worth it, why go back? You are "wasting" your money on something you are trying to convince others not to try. Your words CAN hurt a SMALL business but I'm sure PTSP didn't build their credibility over night along with holding a world record. If you were an honest reviewer you would try harder in describing what you see or maybe even trying to contact the owners and try to build your credibility. And no hostility, but genuinely people thrive off of drama and negativity. I'm sensing some clout chasing or maybe even a personal vendetta against the haunt. Either way, I want people to be sure to see the right kind of reviews and know the full story when they search up this place.

    • @hauntnation8318
      @hauntnation8318  3 года назад

      Comparing it to a concert is comparing it to a PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE. It has nothing to do with moving or stationary, it has to do with YOUR comment about opening night. Would you rather I compare it to opening night of a play or restaurant? The POINT was, contrary to YOUR statement, the day we went shouldn't matter - EVERY DAY should be great. If not, you'll get appropriate reviews.
      We NEVER said we go to PTSC every year. MARK ME a time in the video or show me the comment that says that. What I DID say was that I'VE been there several times OVER the years - INCLUDING the first year of operation - and the other times WERE BETTER. Period.
      We're not relying on anyone else for scares. I merely pointed out that we had someone with us who is EASILY scared, yet they had no scares. They were also disappointed, but aren't part of our review crew.
      SPACING? WAITING? Now I'm doubting you even watched the video. Be honest, you didn't. One of our BIGGEST problems with the haunt WAS the spacing. We were in a CONGA LINE front AND back from about the third "house"through the whole rest of the thing. There was no spacing or way we COULD separate. Another gripe was the lack of choke points - places where the haunt stops groups and re-spaces (usually between houses). My guess would be this spacing wasn't done because it would break the continuity that gave them the "record"of longest outdoor haunt.
      Again, the review IS honest. We have no "gripe"with this (or any) haunt. We review on the experience we have there, good, bad, or meh.
      If you know the owners, tell them to contact us. We'd be happy to talk to them if they'd like our feedback. We're not here to make money, we just want a great experience. 😊
