best 10 minutes on youtube EVER, the sound of the machine makes me remember my dads 322BLM they are amazing machines my dad use to take me to operate the machine and was so amazing time, i just wanna folow his footsteps
Question: When you have a truck waiting and a 3rd pulling in, is it productive at the end of the day to take time to load that last bucket and spill half of it?
@Rikuno94 My question is, in an 8 hour shift, can more tons be moved if the trucks travel at 90% full and spend less time waiting in the queue moving zero tons per minute? Perhaps one truck should be removed from the line. Save 8 hours of truck time and haul the same amount of soil? That reduces the average cost per ton.
QuantityEngineers no because if that truck that’s sitting idle is removed then your stuck waiting for a truck to return to the cut. Costs far more for the excavator to be sitting idle than it does a truck.
a good operator would have set it up so the empty truck could back right up to him while he was loading other truck. would make it more productive not having the truck back up when it doesn't need to be. I realize he wasn't really waiting for them to back up. but that's how it should be done
+Deere2154D first you contradicted yourself second the operator did exactly what you said to do. AND, dont forget there is generally 11 to 15 seconds between scoops for the truck to back the final few feet to load position. Finally the truck driver did a very good job staying in close so he could be in position by the time the op got back with the scoop and yet staying out the way while the op made spot to load.
+MrBiggreedy the truck should not stop till he is backed up to the excavator. it's the operators job to make sure the spot is cleared out so they can back up all the way. not stop 30 feet away. but what the fuck do I know I have only loaded a few thousand rock trucks
+Deere2154D first ive got your thousands trumped by tens of thousands. Second the haul pattern is over full and the trucks are stacked on each other. The op is maintaining his pattern so not to confuse the drivers. Third once again he is not waiting on trucks. THEY ARE IN POSITION BY THE TIME HE CYCLES BACK TO DUMP!!!!!
It does, but it is nice to be busy all the time unlike civils and construction where you can be sitting around for hours on end doing nothing at all but watching the clock tick time by.
I'm operator with over five years of esperiencia here in Brazil I want to go to USA can tell me what documents are required and if I go as a tourist if coceguiria a glow even illegal since being grateful ja
Good operator, bad set up. Cycle time starts on the truck when it stops moving forward. This business up backing up to the Ex has been proven time and again to be inefficent as compared to drive by patterns. The biggy with drive bye's is no reverse. This = drivers stay out of the gear box, greatly improved safety, much faster cycle times for the Ex and trucks, and finally easier to find drivers when all they gotta do is drive forward. Your op will love you for the much easier cut to maintain.
MrBiggreedy ...I agree 100%. I always set drive by patterns. It keeps the truck drivers from thinking because when truck drivers have to think, you will lose at least 35% production.
I agree on the drive by’s. And yeah never have a driver think that always will slow you down cause they think it’s easier on them not you. Plus less chances for accidents from backing up vs going forward allowing better production. All true
That's a good operator. He's doing everything right. Fast and safe while also running the equipment properly.

No it’s not productive to waste dirt. Trucks could be rolling vs sitting there waiting for the last wasted scoip
Je pourrais regarder sa toute la journée. Très belle vidéo
Very productive operator. Looks like some amazing digging in that nice soft dirt.
Good driver on a good machine he's got the dig set up right and the trucks coming back into him perfect
