My D-10E doesn't Know its a lower priced Martin and doesn't know it was born in Mexico! (not knocking Mexico they are making fine guitars!) It plays and sounds great!
Martin hits a home run with this one! Sounds great, looks great and it's affordable. I especially like the hidden volume and tone controls and the hidden on-board tuner.
I have MIM tele (Nashville deluxe)that rivals the 63 tele I purchased in 64. It was stolen in 1971 and never replaced. I have played but not owned MIM Martiins and have noticed major improvements in the last 3 or 4 years and I’m sure they will only get better . Less expensive yes but by no means cheaply made.
Great guitar for the money! The only thing I would like to see, are different onboard electronics, because I like to use a hole cover when on stage to reduce any chance of feedback, this MXT doesn't allow for that, if you wish to use the controls or the tuner.
I can play mine hard or softly, always sounds great. I now can play with my eyes closed after 2 months. I literally use all ten fingers all over place like the goatee Spaniard guy who plays like a maniac on YT. Flea taught me about the thumb and Covid taught me to not take a day for granted.
Exactly the type of comparison that I am interested in, too. How do DRS1/2 compare to their newer counterparts D-10E-01/2? I read sthg about DSR1 being all solid built, and D-10e (although all solid wood) only having a solid front? Is the build quality less good? Cheers
Duh!!! What Martin is now calling the D10e. I own it as the Martin DRS2. I emailed Martin C S and asked if the D10 and the DRS2 were the same? Their C S Rep confirmed it. I also own the DRS1 which is Sapele top, Back & Sides. I prefer the DRS1 myself for use in the bluegrass genre. I bought both at Guitar Center for $759.00 each.
Why can't these guys play songs/styles that are commonly played so we can get a real comparison? I don't play bluegrass and I sure as hell don't listen to it either. They just try and show off their skills and don't give a true review of the guitar itself.
My Martin d 10 is on the way to me and I am happy(:
