Congrats on the new guitar purchase Joe! It's the sound, playability and enjoyment to your ears that are the most important thing to us guitar owners. As long as you're happy, I'm happy for you! Now we can finally focus on becoming a better guitar player which is the goal for most of us GAS addicts! Haha!
A couple of years ago I bought the Martin 000X1 which is a slightly smaller version of DX2E. Out of my 10 budget acoustics it is my favorite. I t sounds great and records well. The bass sounds are pronounced. You going to love playing it. It’s still a Martin. The X1 doesn’t have electronics and was discontinued days after I bought mine.
Congrats Joe! I've been looking at these hpl (X) acoustics and am being won over by the durability & the sound from the non-wood body. Half-way through my 'no-NGD' year...so lots of research going on here.
it's a great value and especially for the deal of the day, Musician's Friend crushes it in the sales dept. I love that the newer X-Series have finally returned solid wood parts to the fold - this is a must considering the rest of the guitar is HPL back and sides. At least those wood pieces are resonating together to make a better sound. I guarantee yours sounds better than the ones previous that came with Richlite fingerboards and heavy laminated tratobond necks. Sounds nice plugged in to - good get!
Congratulations Joe. That guitar sounds wonderful. I don't have an acoustic guitar at the moment. I did have a D'Angelico Premier Gramercy LS acoustic, but just could not bond with it. If it would have sounded like yours, maybe I'd keep it.
I bought 3 great acoustic guitars from MF STOD. 2017 a Taylor D320E for $1099. 2019 a Martin OOOX1E for $399. 2020 a Martin GPC Road Series special for $699 all solid spruce top sapele back and sides. Ebony FB and Bridge. My favorite guitar.
Great sounding guitar! Looks like there might be a ding on the treble side of the neck near the 2nd fret, unless it's an optical illusion. If so, you may be able to steam it out.
Hi Joe: Always love and watch your videos. I have a question but its not about the Martin and not sure how to get it to you since you have reviewed both these guitars a while ago... Maybe you can help I am looking at buying a Tease ST-1 or a Donner DST200. Which do you prefer both are inexpensive about the same $
Hey Jym. My personal choice would be the Donner DST200. But honestly Jym, I would just buy a Squier Debut strat. Absolutely loving mine. Best VALUE out there on Amazon- www.amazon.com/Fender-Stratocaster-Electric-Beginner-Warranty/dp/B0CSLNNRSK/ref=sr_1_1?crid=13YBEJRZKQVZW&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.uXyPb4xmgDhZkYP12L_HhR6UGvesUf2jbEuLEbw_AJMywKf4TeZBxYYbVinqgrlTcDyYs0XAto0ExivS9kt4JOyB_SCcrFP4Rw4P3FYfBlfiPitj6_1eooejLpvRsshqtI_xCoxMsSM4yLOUfsLIDRVTRKeGyK4ntJLaUX8r2bWLPAQuDgqWSlCOuiez2PJOJIFlNEpctmKZ3KBcXsWMvJ8xY24cOAD04chdA9DmNfaxn1KSZQyeXrrf98YHbEg_IdD_D9yQpCEMab3aRWFlq9mitdrv-5vqmXxRnmUq7OE.YVMbsJl-UF67_K_YZAhW6ivpbmCheWw1LUlyjzhQsdE&dib_tag=se&keywords=squier%2Bdebut&qid=1718051778&s=musical-instruments&sprefix=squier%2Bdebut%2Cmi%2C84&sr=1-1&th=1
They have had solid spruce top versions of the x series since basically the very beginning. The only major difference now, is a real wood fretboard & bridge instead of richlite...and "solid piece of wood" neck instead the birch laminate (wich, although feel like nice upgrades, in actuality are both "downgrades" for overall stabilty and durability). My x series is probably getting close to having 20 years old on its solid spruce top. Still sounds and plays excellent. Especially for a guitar you can drag around with you anywhere and not be worried about dinging and denting up your expensive and "pretty" studio guitars. On that note, i often opt to use the x series over my more expensive guitars on some recordings when im looking for a more dark, even tone. The one he has in the video here sounds brighter than mine. Perhaps its because mine is old and the spruce top is well seasoned now...? When i bought mine it was already 7 or 8, and the tone has slowly darkened with age.
not trying to hate but you really should look into the yamaha red label series. better qc control than martin and you get a solid wood guitar at 1/3 the price and it's just as good.
@@AJgeartalk the made in chinas which are just as good as the made in japan versions start at 849. yeah it's twice as much but that's not that much when were talking a few hundred dollars to get a solid wood guitar with equal or superior craftsmanship to what you'd get to mexican martins that have laminated sides and back. try one out next time you're at a guitar store.
Just got a D2xe 12 sting and absolutely love it!

Can’t go wrong with Martin at any level.
So nice to see you with a wonderful acoustic like that Martin D-X2E. Its great tone, resonance, and projection make that guitar a steal at $449.
Thanks Joe. Always enjoy your honest reviews.
Nice score. That one is a keeper. Love new guitar days.
I love the phone ringing. Made it feel so much more honest and unfiltered review

Thanks for a great review. It was real. No pay by Martin. I Will get this Martin guitar 👌 It is a perfect guitar for me. Thank you 👍
Congrats on the get, Joe

Very Cool, Thankyou. Such an Awesome Guitar. Congrats. Enjoy. All the Best. Cheers
Nice! I'm excited for you!
My DX1RAE has a Stratabond neck with a Murado fingerboard and bridge. My only Martin. Has a nice broken in sound.
I enjoyed this review. What a beautiful guitar. Your passion shines through. I want one ... with a cutaway lol Thanks, man 🥰
Love your channel
Nice review! Sounds like a Martin!
Hey Joe hope you're doing well my friend.
Great video as always Joe. How does this Martin compare to the Guild you purchased a few months ago? That would make a great comparison video.
I sold my Guild to buy this Martin. No comparison , in my opinion, Greg. Sound and playing feel of this Martin is far superior! Be well my friend.
These are very nice guitars.

Just want to say congratulations on that guitar. It sounds great. I may trade one out to get a DX2E.

Loving it. Definitely a keeper!
@@AJgeartalk I don’t think you can go wrong with Martin at any level. I have a road series. I love it.
Nice, Joe! I should have grabbed one but all I got was this stupid t-shirt:) Congrats!!
Sounds good amplified! It is a piezo, yes? What amp are you using, please?

Perfect
i thought that was my phone! with these guitars i know you have to watch for fret buzz - that's been my experience checking these out at Guitar Center
Haven't noticed any fret buzz here. Thanks for watching.

Thanks Jayce.
