In terms of guitar skills, he's definitely average, he's definitely not in the same category as the various John Frusciante, John Mayer, Tom Morello etc. (just putting random guitarists). Moreover, I find it so annoying that he's sloppy and makes many mistakes. However, many of the guitar parts he came up with definitely contributed a lot to the Monkeys sound. The slide guitars in Library pictures for instance, cornerstone and many more.

The comparisons to the Great David Bowie must me such a compliment! but I would imagine it would of gone both ways... I'm sure Bowie would of been intrigued in the creation of Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino. This is a band that have grown musically, nobody can deny their best album may well still be infront of them...and even if it isn't ...what a back catalog of great music! and performances !

I miss his old voice, I hope he goes back. I don't like hearing him sing this low, I want to hear teddy picker with the same energy he used to sing it with. Now he just sounds like hes bored. I'm not going to hate him for it, but I'll never enjoy listening to dancing shoes or teddy picker this way.
