Made it to Colombia... But theres a problem | Van Life
#vanlife #campervan #trentandallie
We always strive to keep things positive, but this was one of the hardest days we’ve had on the road. Travel can be overwhelming and after so many issues compounding over the past week, this day had me in tears for pretty much all of it. We didn’t film it because I was feeling vulnerable and really upset, and sometimes you just need to turn the camera off. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and messages, the support in this community is so strong! We love you and are staying positive that things will look up from here.
With much love and gratitude, 🙏❤️
Allie, Trent, and Frank
Praying🙏 for safe travels and sending positive vibes✌ with hugs🤗 to you both and licks to Frank🐕!! Lol🤣 Love Cindy
#davesandersstepdaughter 💙
Trent & Allie hope you guys enjoy Colombia
Hi allie, trent & frank...
I have stopped the video @ 6.32...I don't know what's coming but please keep in your hearts the feeling of gratitude you expressed allie, keep your faith in the goodness of life, now, going to finish the video...ok, exactly what I feared...issue w/ frank "the man" your amount of patience is remarkable, truly...your guardian angles were w/ you once again & sorry, but frank was due the muffin...lol...blessings you are all together...pax vobiscum always 🙋♀️😉
Prayers that things get better once your back in your home and moving.
Frank, love bites does not mean eating the entire muffin! Silly baby!
Hope this message finds you having a wonderful unstressful day🍷. Looks like Frank's stress reliever is blueberry muffins😂 Frank!😍 Now grab a cup of Trent's famous coffee and go have some fun. SPOILER ALERT! The next sentence may or may not stress you out again. Hope the whole quarantine thing worked out okay. That freaked me out.😬 Love y'all!😘❤❤❤🐾💋
I'm so glad you guys finally made it. When you said Frank had to be quarrentined I thought you were going to have to leave him someplace at airport. I was so glad to see he was with you. Take care and rest up. You guys deserve it!
I always admire Allie's positive spirit and outlook on things regardless of what her surroundings are. She is a rare find and an inspiration to always look for the bright side of whatever life throws at you
OMG! I went through all emotions. When Trent said “we made itt to South America” i clapped and said out loud “ yeyyy we are in South America!!!” Yes my boss though I was going crazy,... then I almost cried, No! Frank cant be quarentine, NOOOO! But hey, it all worked out. Im so excited for you and all of us... Can’t wait to travel! Bienvenidos a Sur America amigos... ❤️❤️ and a special ❤️ for Frank. Love you guys!
You're positive vibes are felt from a far. Thank you two for all your hard work and for sharing your experiences.
Awwweeeee, Frank is such a good boy. SO happy for you guys that things are going well after all. Oh Trent, poor thing. I'm with you Trent on the fear of flying. And I know that anxiety you feel. Just remember, for future reference, a panic attack PEAKS at around 10-15 minutes and then stops to dissipate. Of course you'll still have the smaller waves, but they get better and better across the following hours. Rest afterwards so your body can recover. During an attack, what I've found that helps is, in addition to the box breathing, try to go for a walk (not too briskly) for a good 5 minutes or more if you can (hard to do on the plane, I know, but I've walking in circles in my house before when it was too late at night to go outside) because walking forces your breathing to regulate back to normal, so the lightheadedness goes AWAY! This is one of my favorite strategies.
Also, I use "Bundling" (wrapping up tightly in a warm, soft blanket) which I learned from a therapist who said it makes you feel safe like when you were in the womb so helps a lot with the trembling. It helps a lot! Also, try to stop resisting it. Allow the waves of fear to flow over you like you are riding a wave in the ocean. Just allow it and tell yourself, chant, "this too shall pass". Of course, distract yourself as you are using these techniques and having some success with them. Another GREAT thing you can do is take Magnesium in a glass of water! That kicks in after about 45 minutes as it crosses the blood/brain barrier and calms your brain (anxiety) down IMMENSELY! That's my most effective go-to, aside from walking. Anyway, you were very brave!! I know you felt SO RELIEVED to get off that plane!
I’m sorry it’s been so stressful....but thank you for demonstrating strength in the midst of hardship! Praying for you guys (and Frank too)!
Seriously, you guys are one the smartest, level headed, problem solving people I’ve ever seen. You’re showing not just travel but how to deal with life in general. You’re excellent role models. Much love ❤️
Very impressed with your handling of this situation. Deep breaths for all and another blueberry muffin for Frank!!
Jill Stevenson YES We can forget Frank.... blueberry muffins for Frank ASAP!!
Frank's a brat!! No gratitude!!
"Everything you need to accomplish your goals is reaching your destination" “Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. You have each other.......Thats the prize..☺
You’ll be fine. I was in a plane crash in 1985. I have flown since then and things are usually just fine. Now I can’t fly due to having psoriatic arthritis mutalins that has effected my spine. But I’m telling you if I could fly I’d do it. No fear. Life is about experiencing life. Look what all you have learned through this stressful time. Now your tons smarter and you get to enjoy your time there. All in all it’s only been a couple hundred more dollars to get through your travel there and you can make it up somewhere on the trip. It’s going to be great. Enjoy every minute! Leslye
Commenting at 3:14 Allie’s smile is truly magical. When she looks at the camera and signals that everything is good to go, well, that’s because you smiled at them Allie :) I like Trent’s smile too.
Sorry that was so stressful. Frank is such a good Boy! To watch him go right to his spot at your feet & lay down in the airplane & then to comfort you was amazing! ❤
When you were on the plane and Allie put her head on poor stressed Trent, it brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful love you two have!! Oh Lord, please help me find that!!
I’m glad you said you cried. It makes you human. I think it was important to show that one will have stressful days but you can handle them if you are well adjusted people, have common sense and reasonably intelligent. I hope this shows young people you don’t need drugs or to shoot people. So many people have a hard time handling life and I think you two are perfect role models! I really enjoyed this real life video and how you handle everything. Frank is loved!
Sooooo excited for you! From what I hear of Colombia, you will absolutely love it. Hope the van is ok and that you get it back in good shape. Safe travels!
Yes… You had a stressful day… But you ended up in a clean safe place with a glass of wine in your hand… That’s the spirit!… ❤️ from me to you…
i got teary eyed when trent sought comfort from frank on the plane 💕
And Frank was there for him!
Me too.
@@madcitywendy Me as well. I was right there with him- I'm the same way and avoid air travel like the plague which really limits where I can go, but the panic is so awful otherwise. I'm glad Trent at least has an emotional support dog. Wonder if they created an episode talking about how they got Frank designated as such?
I so felt for Trent on the plane. I have the same problem and it really limits my freedom. The only solution is to try to travel with a very special buddy, and Trent had that X2. I'm glad that he put this in the video b/c so many of us have this problem and feel isolated and embarrassed b/c of it. It's neither understood nor openly discussed and it should be. Tranquilizers help, but you need a friend so that people don't stare at you which makes it worse.
You guys are troopers! Sending much love from the States, I’m loving living vicariously through you guys on this amazing trip. Glad you’re reunited with Frank! 💕
Thank you for sharing your troubles with us - hopefully telling folk will help you shed the load a little.
I hope things go up from here - wishing you the best from England.
You both amaze me with your adventurous souls and love of travel. Frank is worth the extra cost for the comfort he brings you both.
You guys love that dog so much to go through all this trouble I admire that dedication and he deserved it is a really good dog I had three adopted dogs and I really really admire all that you do for Frank you guys are really great.
Ooohhh...on an UP note, just realized you are at 150k subs!
CONGRATULATIONS to all 3 of you!!🐕💑
So deserved! 🎊🎉🎇🎃🎂🎀🎉🎉
Thank you for the fantastic adventures you share😍
Thanks Lauri!! We are so excited 😊
Well, you didn't end up in a Colombian jail so............there's that.
Not yet anyway. Lol
Noooooooo! Don’t say that! I love Trent and Allie’s channel. I don’t want to see this turn into locked up abroad.
I’m sorry, I can’t imagine anybody wanting to lock up Allie, Trent maybe 😉, but Allie has to be the least likely person anybody would want to arrest! I mean, she smiles all the time🤣
Poor frank did!! He must have been so happy to get a blueberry muffin as a get out of jail treat :-p
Good point!!
As I am getting ready to build my first van and hitting the road with my emotional support animal, my dog Ellie, it is great to see the ups and downs associated with traveling with a dog. Thank you for that.
I liked seeing Frank comfort Trent and Allie's face on the plane beside nervous Trent was great 😊. Not knowing till the end of the video and the Title how Frank made out was hard to watch and very glad he is ok, but now my chest is tight and feeling very stressed 😬 My wife and l look forward to watching your videos together and pray your adventure are safe and fun. 👍🇨🇦🌞🙏
Positive attitude is the key. And u both r full of it. Frank is the BOSS. We all love him
kudos for getting through that, i would’ve cried at least twice! you guys are the best!!
I love how positive you guys are! Also how dedicated to Frank you are. So many people wouldn't imagine trying to travel around the world with a dog.
Allie you always stay positive. Looking forward to your South America travels.
So glad you have arrived safely on your next step of your adventure. So glad Frank was there for you on the flight Trent. Frank always seems to understand when you need some loving, and reassurance. All the fuss you had to go through at the airport and Hotel, reiterates how important Frank is to you guys. He is like your child. He is worth it. I LOVE HIM. Now go get your van and enjoy Colombia. Happy days. Love you guys.
I have definitely said the same about my dog when I’ve spent all day stressed trying to sort things out for him and he repays me by doing something extremely ungrateful! Haha I normally tell him about all the shelter dogs and how lucky he is to have a home and be loved!
I felt stressed just watching this so I hope you’ve all had chance to relax now ❤️
You guys are the Best way to see the world... when you KNOW you never WANT to leave the States! I truly dislike travel even within the States unless I can drive. Hope you Enjoy!
X2, I have no desire to visit another country, especially third world countries with different languages which I don't speak. Canada was no problem for a week long fishing and camping trip, pre 911, and Mexico was just an afternoon across the border to say we went. There is plenty to see here. Luckily, I have not needed to deal with airlines and I have a toy hauler trailer to travel with and stay in.......home away from home.
Hang in there- Y’all are doing great and Frank is worth all the hassle- Thanks for posting your adventures on RUclips 👌👍👍 (Texan here)
South America - you guys are great and so adventurous! thank goodness you have each other and the rest of us as support!
Welcome to my country, I hope you enjoy it and do well.
You overcame!
How incredibly stressful! But you did it he survived it and now it’s time to thrive! You got this!
Frank’s amazing, how could anyone complain about his hair? Or quarantine him? I’m shook!
He's cute and all but realistically, there are people with animal allergies...SMH...🙄
You 2 are so connected. You are sitting on the floor in the airport eating a couple of sandwiches and Allie tells Trent to grab the camera while chewing her meal. You have your own language. Cute
At least Frank's easy to please, he seems like a laid-back kind of dog.
That was a LOT accomplished in one day! FYI, thanks for Trent’s honesty about flying. I’ve had a 40+ year love/terror relationship with it, and it’s always nice to know others aren’t 100% comfortable in an aluminum tube hurtling through the air at 600mph.
I’m impressed by your “positivity” through all of this! I’m TOTALLY stressed out watching your vids and then your response calms me! Looking forward to the next saga!
I enjoy all the videos I have watched of yours. I have traveled for work many times over the years, never out of the USA, and traveling came be very stressful at times. That saying about "no words, a lot of feels, no words" will stick with me for life. Happy trails!!!
Frank deserved that blueberry muffin!! :) I'm sure he can feel the stress also.
Oh Frank!!! That would have me in tears - at the border - out of frustration. You guys handle the setbacks so well. I'm glad you were able to work out the best option to get Frank in the country. 💞 💪
When you feel too much stress… Have a glass of wine… Put on some relaxing music… My suggestion, stream Stan Getz’s album… “West Coast Jazz“… You will feel better...
Just subscribed and liked. Thanks for sharing your life with Frank! Safe travels and blessings!
I could never with all that stress... You guys are amazing and Frank deserved that muffin 100% ;)
So very Happy for all of you guys!! Sometimes we just need to cry !💜💜 But it can only get better!! Have a wonderful time and will see you all soon ! 💜🙏🏼💜🙏🏼💜🙏🏼
Damn! Now I'm having a cocktail after all that bologna! I thought you were going to have to leave Frank. That was crazy stressful! Thanks for showing it though. It's not all rainbows and fairytales! Love you guys. Hope you get the Van back w/o any stress.
You stayed Calm and carried on. breath in through the nose and out. calm. Your both amazing. Frank is incredible travel and beautiful member of your family.
stay safe, have fun and breath
Not gonna lie I teared up when you had to leave Frank in quarantine ! He was stress eating when he ate the blueberry muffin lol I do it all the time LOLOLOL
Trent, Frank really is your emotional support . Frank IS such a good boy. I love him!!! I’m praying everything goes well when it’s time for you to get your home back (you probably have it by now). I don’t know how long you plan to stay in South America but please check, double and triple check the proper documents required for Frank for your travels back to Central America or the US for that matter. I retired from the airline industry and I found traveling stressful. I worked in the airport and being VERY familiar with the airport(s). There were constant changes with rules and regulations of various agencies within the airport and travel industry (TSA, Customs, Gates and even the airlines). MY experience is there is NO CONSISTENCY regarding rules and regulations within the agencies in different States in the U.S. Making travel stressful even for an experienced traveler more so anyone who doesn’t travel as much. One final thing, as far as Airbnb, you can actually contact the owner/manager of the place you’re staying PRIOR to booking the place. I’ve communicated with homeowners/managers of Airbnb to ask specific questions that are not clear to me on the listing prior to booking. Stay safe. Looking forward to upcoming vids. Sorry about how lengthy this comment turned out. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
When I saw Trent proposing to Allie I had the biggest smile on my face!
I have dogs and so I get it. The neck stress I get that also. But you have each other and thankfully Frank. Saying a prayer for you guys and Frank. May God bless the three of you as well as your journey. Bless up!!
In a way it is hard to "like" this video because of your pain and frustration. I do admire your courage. I've always been fascinated by South America and look forward to ya'll sharing your journey. God bless you and protect you.
Trent, I also am a white knuckle flyer. I could feel your pain. Safety statistics do not comfort me when flying.
Me too, real life has enough troubles, that l watch media for happy stuff and stay away from media showing troubles.
@@Lracnolip Me, too, normally. But I so appreciate Trent and Allie keeping it real and not all unicorns and roses. Anyone fantasizing about doing this lifestyle needs to adjust their expectations to the more realistic side of it and this series shows both sides well.
I was stressed right along with you guys. Air travel days are bad enough when they go smoothly. Cheers 🍷🍷for making it through without a complete melt down. Love to you guys & give Frank a snuggle for me, he’s worth all the extra effort.
Glad that at least you had a Frank with you as “in house quarantine”. Would not have been able to leave my dog locked up in the airport somewhere.
B&B advice when traveling with an Emotional Support Dog. The situation is not the same as having a Service Dog...hence the Import paper. You know that now, but that is the difference in some countries. B&B-generally, Service Dogs are NOT charged the cleaning fees; Emotional Support...variable depending on the place. Always...always call ahead to make sure what the site says is what the place does. On two separate occasions I got stopped checking in being told my dog was over the weight limit (he wasn't), or that they don't take animals (when their page says they do). In both instances, I changed locations rather than deal with that insanity. Frank is wonderful and I am glad he is with you on the journey.
Whenever you're in Medellín, hit me up, I'll love to meet you guys and show you around!
Si Juan por favor, es bueno que en Colombia hayan ahora tantas reglas y ojalá no haya sido tratando de coger tajada de los Americanos. Enséñale lo bueno de la gente y de nuestra bella Colombia 🇨🇴
Yes, Juan show the beautiful of Colombia 🇨🇴 and the people
I have no idea if you guys want to have kids but my thought of the close up with both of you on the plane is how beautiful your babies would be! I totally panicked when I heard "quarantine". So glad he is with you. Adventure on!
The grandma in me just wanted to hug Trent during that take off.
Trent, totally understand the trouble w flying! Glad the 3 of u r safe.
I often admire your ability to stay positive, you are better people than I am...I was just pissed off watching this time!
Rip off...getting poor Frank in the country..
Rip off...getting into the air bnb with Frank..
Grrr....deep breaths.
I felt for you all😞
Prayers that things go well going forward.☺
I've got a lab who loves people food and is far too smart for her own good. She has learned that we are far more careful with our plates now... So she developed a plan.
Terra will now bring things she knows she's not supposed to chew on right in front of us. The cat helps her with this sometimes by knocking stuff down. We have two options... Leave the plate or take it with us to retrieve the item. If we leave it, she goes in for the kill. If we take it with us, she wait for us to lean down and grab what she had, bringing the plate into her range and occupying the free hand, then she'll grab what she wants and it's down her throat before we can say her name!
Congrats to 150 000 subs! 🎉❤️
Thank you 😊
I was petrified about flying!!! I once fainted when I woke up I was num and had 6 stitches on my forehead!!! So I had to face my fears! I became a pilot, now no problems!!! Remember frank can sense your fear, he look worried for you. Grate video, thank you.
I’m one of those guys who watches Air Crash Investgators on the plane. Trent would not like me sitting next to him.
I was super scared about Frank for a minute. Thank goodness that worked out. You guys are the best. You always handle things so well. Stay strong. Sending positive vibes from South Texas. 🤗💜
After that day, sitting in the AB&B, I would have been drinking straight out of the bottle!
I cried for you. This is not the kind of stress that is easy to shrug off. I have you guys in my prayers. Frank needed a little muffin to deal with his day too. Cant be to angry with him. Stay positive tomorrow is a brand new day.
Kristene L
yes they need prayers. It is a horrific situation to have to handle in their life.
They are amazing people to have overcome it.
Poor Frank...he was only stress eating😩 He knew things weren't going well.
My stomach is in knots watching this!!
We get stress in our heads and it hurts our eyes and makes us all dizzy, not the best look or feel - but you're in Columbia with Frank, problems will happen but you stayed calm and you're through, take time to chill and look forward to an entire new continent to explore!
I was holding my breath thinking Frank was going to be held in quarantine for 30 days or something like that!
You guys are doing something so awesome and I really thank you for sharing. You are sparing someone some stress through your experience. So thanks for them. Janice
Let Frank have a blue berry muffin, he's a good boy.
Maybe Frank is stressed because he feels your stress! I eat when I am stressed! Blueberry muffins are hard to pass up! 😋
Great you have Frank and Allie with you Trent! Safe travels always amigos *hearts*
I would hv to stay in quarantine with my dog i would panic leaving her in a strange place alone.
I so understand carrying pain/stress in the neck area.... glad you survived your travels!! And now on to EXPLORING!!!
I love to Fly. Frank is so worth it. Would love to have a frank. But I love my little ankle biter.LOL. Great video. Be safe.
Frank is pampered! You love having him like we enjoyed our German shepherd Pepper!! So hey it’s all worth it!
Guys.... Honestly!! You guys are just my relationship Goals!!
Don’t know what happens behinds the scenes... but WOW!! You guys always make it!!
God bless you guys can’t wait for the next video ❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🐶❤️
Yes, agree 👍
So true!
You handled your stressful situations with grace. Well done guys! So happy y'all made it. Thanks for another great video.

It will be ok...I don't know how, but I know it will be...because it has to be. Believe in you. Believe in forward momentum. You can be slowed down, but not stopped. Love you two! Keep going! You got this nailed! Couple of studs!

Are you able to disclose who you use for that in NYC? I'm in the city also and would love to be able to travel with an emotional support dog but seeing what Trent and Allie went through with Frank makes me nervous. I'm hoping you have a good resource to help prevent that. Thanks Michael!

Hey guys,
Totally normal. Especially in Europe. Quarantine can last 10 days max. But at the end of the day, you can pickup your fury or feathered family.
I would think somebody could make a business of “ferrying” people of through all the ins and outs of border crossings and shipping of vehicles. Every van traveler seems to have problems going from Panama to Columbia, and it’s an expensive proposition, would seem that there is a business to be had there!
We agree!!!
Thought the same when you guys explained how this was all going to work. I'm like.. Hmm 🤔 seems like a missed opportunity. Would be beneficial to both countries to make it easier 🤷🏼♀️
What A roller coaster you guys have been through on this part of your adventure. You can tell the toll this stress put on you guys but you still keep your chin up and slog through. In a few days you will be back in the van with Frank having a time. Best wishes!
How can Colombia require you to quarantine Frank, but let you take him with you at the same time? What did I miss?
It’s an “in house quarantine”
@HAVE A LAUGH, it means you have to keep him inside the house and away from all people until the official comes back to see that Frank is still not sick, then you're clear to move on.
@@TrentandAllie When the official comes to check the dog. Put your cameras away and if there is any trouble, just offer to "sort it out" as you need to get going, you have all the other paper work, can you help us out...
I didn’t understand that either. In the US quarantine is a horrible place and you are separated. Some of them won’t even let you visit your pet.
“In house” you were eating food on the street and he was with you. That’s crazy. Glad to know Frank has all his shots but makes me wonder about other people’s animals who don’t. Interesting. Can’t wait to see more of this journey.
wow. that's a lot of unhappy surprises happening all at once! kudo's for managing it with grace, style, perspective & humor -- lovely! (sending BIG hugs & lots of love!)
I was so worried you guys weren’t going to be able to get Frank back
Paola Frias
Yes I was in bits also.
It was horrific.
So glad to finally be able to communicate with you. Been watching you for a long time. My wife showed me how to write a note. Love watching you guys.
Thanks Jim!! Glad you’re enjoying the videos thanks for watching
I hope Allie doesn't do her extra cleaning at that Airbnb for 30 bucks I would have Frank roll all over the place LOL
I sure wouldn't!
for that $30 I'd shower Frank just an hour before you leave, and use one of their towels to dry him too.
Also guys, check the disability section of Airbnb's nondiscrimination policy... your hosts are in breach of this policy by implimenting a charge. A complaint and refund request should be made!

Lol that’s exactly what I thought too! Go wild Frank and no cleaning behind him this time Allie!😉
I would go looking for strays around the city and bring them back to room...
You guys handle stressful situations so well, and it such a great reminder to always remember what's important in life. The best days always come after the most stressful
You should complain to the Airbnb platform to get some of that money back. They’re actually (normally) really good customer service wise when you have an issue like that. I’m sorry you’re stressed out. By the title of the video I thought your van was messed up in transit. Glad it’s not
This is my third video of you alls that I have watched today and I love you all's personality and attitudes. I love the fact that you guys show what the pros and cons of van life are. You have a new subscriber in me!
Thanks Kambria! So glad to have you and can’t wait to take you around South America with us 😎🤘🏼
