An elementary school I used to go to replaced all their Red wall mount version and Simplex light plates w/ bells with those white ceiling mount Spectralert advances when the building went through a remodel years ago and even had them added to the classrooms.
The spectralert advances are actually cross listed for wall or ceiling mount. You can put a ceiling mount on the wall and a wall mount on the ceiling and it would still be operating within its UL listing

That's true. I always see buildings with wall-mount fire notification appliances, especially System Sensor, on the ceiling. Probably because it's cheaper to get the wall-mount version, not too sure.

Thanks for the video S.E.R Safety. I will also be getting a Simplex control panel from my high school. They will be doing the fire alarm system upgrade but I don't know when are they going to begin. My school is going to undergo major changes around and that involves the system upgrade. I don't know what's going to replace the regular fire alarm system but I think that it's either going to be a regular fire alarm system or a voice evacuation system.

Only the 4 wire modles and remote horns can be set on coded which allows the panel to code the alarm probably since if it was allowed on the 2 wire horn Strobe model when set on coded the strobe would no longer be able to meet the 1hz requirement

The spectralert advances I got were remote strobes but hey I’m alright with that I got a wall mount one and ceiling mount ones are they are red too

What wires do you need to connect one of these to an existing smoke detector. The detector has white, black and orange wires and the strobe has + + - connections?

Cool i saw the system sensor pc2w every where and i couldn't see where the wall mount version is located
they have the white horn and strobe (some are just strobes) and the wall mount ones (except they're white) at my school, recently they went off and they sound the same as the wall mount ones
My high school has those exact system sensor alarms (which is one of the top brands I absolutely hate). They get annoying especially when I am in a small classroom with 2 ceiling mount horn strobes after someone vaped in a bathroom and made it go off about once a month on average. Literally every single ceiling mounted fire alarm at my school are horn strobes. Some of the wall mounted ones are strobe only, but in total, most of them are ceiling mounted outnumbering all that are strobe only, because most of the ceilings are lower so that it’s closer to people walking in the hallway. And the higher ceiling rooms like the cafeteria and the gym have the wall mounted alarms… again, so that it’s closer to people when it’s going off. I guess the logic of that is so that blind or even Deaf people can still hear it maybe?

Didn't System Sensor do this in L series as well? The local Walmart I go to had an upgrade last year and now has the L series.

It's not. First Alert is a smoke alarm company and it's not Spector Alert or it's a company it's a series part of System Sensor and that series is called SpectrAlert

There’s more ceiling fire alarms I know about so I saw one on google not chrome but google so I searched up fire alarm ceiling and saw a alarm that has the light at the edge instead of the middle go to shopping to find it
