So glad to see you back😊 your my favorite mixed media artist! Really enjoyed the process ! Loved it! Glad that you had taking time off for yourself, but so thankful your back.🙏
Hi, Jenn!!! Always a pleasant surprise to see you've shared some of your talent with us! You are one of the first artists that I followed and remain one of my favorites. 😊 If i plan ahead, I keep a small pan of water to drop my stencils in, but not always. if the paint dries on my stencils, so be it! that's what makes them art-y, LOL!
So very glad to see you pop in and out with new videos Jen!! In regards to the stencil question... Trust me I totally get them not being cleaned right away if at all!! But I find just having something the stencils can fit into with just some water works best ... That way I can clean them at some point, but that way any paint etc that I used never gets a chance to dry on the stencils.... Thanx for making and sharing the video with all of us on here !!
So happy you are back! Missed you… Baby wipes to clean stencils….then I put them in the sink(or a pan of soapy water) to soak until I finish my project. 😊
Love this page! Regarding the stencils, I am close to a sink (my art desk is the kitchen table) so I'm able to clean my stencils pretty quickly. Otherwise I will let it soak in a shallow pan with a bit of dish soak and then wipe it off with a paper towel or a baby wipe.
Great page Jenn, love it. I only clean the intricate stencils, and mostly with a bit of water and a microfiber cloth, as long as paint is still wet it will come off. Sorry, that is not what you asked for. I am just super glad you are uploading videos again. Thank you. Can't wait for your next video.
You are always so much fun to watch and listen to! I have some REALLY grungy stencils I need to clean. I would also like to know how to clean them after the acrylic paint dries as hard as a rock!
Use the felt pads when using the ink blending tool for stencils. They soak up less paint. For cleaning stencils, wait until you have a batch of them, get a flat container big enough, fill with luke warm water, and then use the magic ingredient ... wait for it ... denture cleaning tablets. (I use them for a bunch of stuff except cleaning dentures - can also be used for cleaning stained ceramic mugs, porcelain cup, drinking glasses, etc). They are cheap, readily available and enviro friendly. You might have to leave the stencils overnight and then when ready, rinse and gently dry with a cloth. You may to have to repeat the process with stubborn stains.
Hello Jen! So happy this video was recommended to us and would love to send you some samples of our stencils and/or stamps if you would like to test them out and let that paint build-up (on the stencils). We are big fans of letting the paint build up or even if it looks too good to use again gluing that bad boy down to whatever project may need it. My email is on my channel info or we are on IG and FB. Looking forward to hearing from you, have a great one!
Beautiful Page! Love how you let the paint brush colors flow all over. I try to clean my stencils as I go. But when I don't I find that a baby wipe or a warm soak with dish soap works fine.
Hi Jenn, it is fabulous to have you back! I clean my stencils by putting them into hot water with a washing powder. It is a detergent you use to soak clothes with stains in. I leave them overnight and the old paint comes off really easily; I use a nail brush. Hope this helps. Works for brayers too.
Thanks Corrie! I'm gonna give that a try. The alcohol did take the paint off, but it did take a bit of rubbing to get the paint off. Your way sounds easier.
Love this page! Love the texture and the fabulous use of greys ❤❤❤ (I keep my stencils neat and tidy by using Bosisto’s Multipurpose Cleaner made from Eucalyptus Oil . It just keeps them clean and crisp)
Love this so much! I keep Costco Kirkland brand baby wipes on my craft table and just quickly wipe off my stencils. They’re still all stained and look old now. But wiping them right away keeps the paint from clogging up the stencils.
Love the page! I use alcohol, and anti-bacterial sprays or liquid. Then of late, I've been using Nuvo stamp cleaner. Does any of what I just written is 100%, absolutely not! LOL but it does get most of the crud off the stencils.
Gorgeous page 😍 I hate cleaning stencils!!! I try to wipe them with kitchen towel once I've used them so they are dry enough to put away, but some of mine are damaged due to previously trying to clean thoroughly 🙄🙄
Great page.... I use Murphy's oil soap and some with some warm watter in a bucket to soak for awhile. Lightly scrub and good to go! Why do I feel the alcohol might make them brittle?
Love this page Jenn, so you and its awesome. Well you don't want my advice lol, as I clean my stencils when I use them, but have you just tried soaking your stencils, whether it be it just plain water or something that you use to remove paint from brushes, I cant remember then name and we don't have it here in Australia, Thank you for sharing
Yeah, I don't ever clean mine either unless it's pastes. But I was noticing that some of my stencils I've used for years and years don't get as good of a stenciling cuz the paint like makes the edges uneven, if that makes sense. Like it's so build up my palette knife doesn't go straight across if I'm using a paste or the lines just aren't right if I'm using a sponge. Although, after doing it for an hour and only having 4 or so cleaned, I gave up. But I wanted to make sure the alcohol wouldn't like wear them down wierd after time. I don't foresee anymore stencil cleaning in my future. Haha
"Aggressive splattering" is my new favorite technique! Great video!
No soft tap tap tap splattering here! Haha
So glad to see you back😊 your my favorite mixed media artist! Really enjoyed the process ! Loved it! Glad that you had taking time off for yourself, but so thankful your back.🙏
Thank you so much, Carol! It's great to be back 😄
I jumped and let out a little squeal when I saw a video from Jenn. Love the page and love seeing you again... You are missed.
Haha yay! I love that. And thank you😍
Awesome to have you back. I’ve missed your laugh! I clean mine with Murphy’s oil soap. It’s natural and non caustic but cleans them very well.
Gorgeous page, Jenn! Always a good day when you upload!
Thank you, Renea!
Now this is ART on a page in a journal.
Oh, hahaha, PS: Great to see you back!! And what a wonderful page.

I'll have to try out the felt pads, I have a ton of those I never use anyway.
Denture cleaning tablets! Huh. Ill give those a try! Thank you!!! 😍😍😍
This came out gorgeous 😍

Love this page!
Love this!!!
To clean my stencils, I keep a little dish pan with water and Murphy’s Oil Soap. Cleans awesomely when I’m ready to clean them. 😊
Murphy's oil soap! I've gotten a lot of tips but never with that..thank you! I even have some of that on hand. 🙂

I just have a container of water that will fit the stencil and toss it or them in when finished. Alas, they can remain in the "bath" for days plus.

So happy to see you art journaling...Do you know the hack for making coiled pages removable? Thought it might benefit your style.😘
I don't know that hack! I'm gonna look into it, thank you 🙂
Alcohol or Murphys Oil soap. But I can't think of the last time I cleaned a stencil unless I used modeling paste
