Hey, what do you know? That definitely works well, then I wouldn't need to add any narration and you still got that nice build up of music when "R E A C H" is shown on screen. Good call there. As for my choice there. My thoughts weren't to look for equally grim music, since the original trilogy lacked anything even remotely similar to Reach's main theme - Winter Contingency. How I saw it, starting with "Luck" (the theme that plays during Arrival) would mean that, from the ashes of Reach, Noble 6's sacrifice paved way for a brighter future. I viewed Halo Reach, not as a story of a planet burned to ashes, but more a story about a team of Spartans, whose exploits ultimately led to the discovery of Halo, which paved way for the the Great Schism of the Covenant, ultimately turning the tide of the war. This is further shown in how I end with the Pillar of Autumn, instead of Noble Six's death. Lose the battle, win the war. There's a new hope. It's just a different interpretation of Reach's story. A bittersweet one, where the tragedy leads to greater things. I just thought the theme I chose could convey that, so while tonally opposite to the original music that used to be there, it can still work when viewed in a different way, so I assist that view by using Halsey's ending narration. The result? A more positive view of the Fall of Reach, a lost battle that led to victory in the war. I admit, it isn't exactly clear, but this explanation is just to show what I was thinking.
Yeah, I understand where you're coming from, but taking it from the other side, knowing that it was the arbiter who ordered to glass the planet, it also fits, as it shows its doing, also being the theme of the covenant at their highest in H2, it's just a matter of interpretation. Anyway, great job for the whole thing!
Yep. That's exactly why I thought it worked well. "There was only one ship." - Which would bring Halo Reach in full circle with Halo 2. Wish I thought of it before uploading this.
It's actually a mix I did of Unforgotten from Halo 2 and Never Forget from Halo 3 by the way. Well, they're technically the same thing, but nothing wrong with letting people know.
Hey, that's pretty good. Thanks for the share. In that case, you might want to take a look at the remix I did for Halo 2's "Follow", which mixes the soundtrack version with the vocals version that Incubus did: ruclips.net/video/k5pl3piJ5-0/видео.html (That is, if you're into that track in any way.) That mix is uploaded on my Halo fan music channel, which you might want to check out. It has various fan made soundtracks and remixes that I've collected over the years from various different Halo fans. I uploaded them for archiving purposes.
Yeah. The old Banshee dogfighting soundtrack, although I do enjoy the Anniversary replacement as well. That remix basically combines these two versions: Soundtrack version (The one in Halo 2, and the one Halo fans know): ruclips.net/video/0IfjQXvdzD8/видео.html Lyrics version (From the Follow EP by Incubus): ruclips.net/video/uM-0p9Kcry0/видео.html
32:07 usually the music is less sad at this part that hes sneakin, but with sad music it gives a totally different tone, its like he has to do it for jorge
Someone should make this a mod and include gameplay in that mod Edit: By gameplay i mean non-cutscene moments with that music, probably easier to do on MCC when reach comes to it on Xbox or when the whole collection comes to PC
This video needs to get more views.
Thanks! Help spread the word, then!
The first cinematic would have worked better with Arbiter's theme from Halo 2 I think, Arrival is too light to reflect what happened on Reach

Alejandro MiddleCorn "Prologue" from the Halo 2 Volume 2 soundtrack. I'd say it's more like High Charity's theme, but whatever.
44:50 Glad you didn't change the music since it's also classic.
The opening of Tip of the spear with One Final Effort is just Legendary
Never forget works so well in New Alexandra.

UncookedMoa Ah yes I can hear it now.
Some halo tracks sound even better combined. Such as:

UncookedMoa Wow. I've never came across that before strangely.
The only true track to play during a banshee dogfight.
