  • Paule Constable is an award winning British lighting design with a global portfolio. She an Associate Director of the National Theatre and an associate of the Lyric Hammersmith and for Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures.
    She has been nominated for a further 12 Olivier awards and for 3 further Tony Awards. She was the recipient of the Hospital Award for Contribution to Theatre and has also received the LA Drama Desk Award for Les Mis, Sleeping Beauty and for Warhorse; and both the New York Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award for both Curious Incident and Warhorse on Broadway.
    She was the first recipient of the Opera Award for Lighting in 2013 and was one of the first women to be awarded the Tonic Award for her achievements. She has been awarded three Knight of Illumination awards - for Follies, St Joan and for Satyagraha. She received the Australian Helpmann Award in 2017 for Les Miserables. She was awarded the Ryane Award in 2018 to acknowledge her contribution to the work of the National Theatre and in 2020 received a special award from the Critics Circle to acknowledge her contribution to theatre.
