Incredible voice, also a great man. I met David at he’s restaurant complaining about the portion size😂😂 he handled it like a champion and invited me back to listen to him sing, the love and passion for he’s father is so beautiful. David if you ever read this I wish you all the best mate.
"All'alba Vincerò"...he didn't win the competition but he won the heart of many fans with this performance. Incredible, totally flawless and so moving...I played this video like tenth times.
I'm with Bryan, this rendition moved me to tears.Yes,we all immediately think Pavarotti when the words 'Nessun Dorma' are mentioned. But without doubt Mr.DeVito brings a certain purity to it.From England,I say,WELL DONE,Sir.Yup Australia sure does have talent,in buckets.Bravo!
I wandered into a restaurant and bar last night call The Vault at Broadbeach, this is who was singing, OMG, both him and his wife have amazing voices, the place was rocking, the music was superb, I can't wait to go back. They own this restaurant and tapas bar.
He did a wonderful job. Every tenor has a different voice and this guy is a performer. I have been listening to opera for over 62 years. I have heard many since the 1950's, including my home town Mario Lanza, and he did proud indeed.
Heard this in competitions so many times and enjoyed watching them all, but there is something very special about David, and if he is careful and stays focussed, he could be even greater than he already is! He has a specia natural warmth in his voice that give him the edge for me. Great tallent big fella!
I've listened to many people attempting to sing this song, Italians and not, but you're honestly amazing!! And listening to you, feeling the power and the elegance of your voice really makes me proud to be Italian! Bravissimo!!!
David has a rich beautiful sound, puts the other so-called tenor Nessun Dorma wannabees to shame, like Paul Potts. He should be searching for a great Italian singing teacher to enhance his artistry! Philip Tropea tenor
That was absolutely magnificent David, what a beautiful voice you have. I'm sure it will take you far and better days are ahead of you. You are a lovely person as well.
Fantastic. God given powerful voice. I've heard this from countless singers in my 63 years and kind, sir, yours is just wonderful. Thank you, thank you.
I have lost count of the number of times I have heard this song sung by would-be opera singers, but I have to say that David is one of the view people who has actually pulled it off. You can sense the under lying support he has to his voice as this classic, all the way through, was sung effortlessly. The breath control was incredible.
There is no doubt. He is an italian without growing up in italy. I only measing the rolling R - Like Caruso or Lanza. "La donna mobile" or "o sole mio" must be his song. What had happend with such a voice in a country with experience with opera music or musical music in their veins.
by the end of that I had tears rolling down my face aswell and I very rarely cry, especially not at an opera piece. When a great singer connects with all his heart and soul into a performance it is a great thing to watch. Good luck David, that was very moving
Listening to his comments just reinforced the beauty of the performance. I can imagine my father crying at my daughter's beautiful voice as she sang arias to him before he died. Love the family performance.
Cheers Mate! I have no musical skills at all so I can't comment about technical things. But I amd a HUGE fan of music and singing and I have to be moved by the passion of the performer(s). A techincally perfect performance does nothing for me without passion. And you Sir moved me! It was a pleasure to hear you and thank goodness for RUclips or this Yank wouldn't have had the pleasure.
I think David has found himself as a singer. I love Nessun Dorma. It's range of notes really show who has the talent. I figured his dad probably coached him.
so happy for you david. My wife and I used to love coming down regularly to eat your wonderful food at CIAO and just to hear you sing! Well done mate. Simply inspiring!
The problem with people who hate opera are usually thinking that way as they have not really been exposed to the glory of it. Even though most opera is in a language we are not familiar with, if you know the story, it can be totally enjoyed. One good thing about opera is that people are blessed by a good performance, I don't think you would get mob violence from people who are listening to it. Absolutely not. It is one of the many factors producing our great civilization. If we are moving forward, if modern music has nothing greater, it just does not get any better, then we have to ride the peak and not discard it. This is good for the soul, truly. Marvelous performance.
I think the younger generation are beginning to appreciate what it takes to sing opera, they may not sit through a complete opera like say Wagner's Ring Cycle (for that matter neither would I - 12 hours is a bit much) but I think they do love some of the beautuful arias (thanks to advertisers using some of the songs - I remember the Rice Bubble ad using the aria from Madama Butterfly). I have watched the reaction of some USA rappers listening to Pavarotti singing Nessum Doorma and the look of total surprise and enjoyment on their faces (and they say as much) especially when Pavarotti hits that high note at the end of the piece. Also there is a new kid (26) on the block called Dimash (from Kazakhstan) whose range is unbelievable and he enjoys a considerable following of young people who appreciate his voice (also he is rather cute but his voice is literally out of this world) - for a man to sing the Diva's song is almost unheard of and impossible for a man to hit higher notes than a soprano and boy descants but he does it and is pitch perfect - try looking him up. 🇦🇺🇦🇺😷😷😷😷😷😷
Thankyou so much for your comments. My interpretation of this Aria was to make it different to the original by adding pop style inflections in some of the phrasing .I love the original but wanted to change it slightly to make it my own .I wanted the quiet parts to be more vulnerable and the finale to be mind blowingly powerful.I normally never sing a song as it has been written without DeVito-izing it. LOL ! Peace
@daviddevitomusic Aloha David Devito!!! I am such a fan!! Ive heard alot people singing Nessun Dorma, and they really couldn't hold the note that you did so well, I believe in my heart your gonna touch many lives with your beautiful voice! I wish you luck in the future dear friend!! God bless you and your family (dad especially) greetings from Hawaii!!
This area is simply amazing. It's so powerful and moving. Maybe there are some areas better than this one but everytime i listen it I feel much stronger than the previous second. And I love the fact that Americans, Australians, Germans sing it in Italian, my first language
Absolutely brilliant. What a show, what a voice. I agree with Kyle's comments you ARE the Meatloaf of Opera. I mean that in the nicest way. All the best to you. I had goosebumps and cried. Good pick, such a passionate interpretation of a classic opera piece. Sincerely hope that you make it through to the next round.
@daviddevitomusic David, as a lover of opera, I feel confident in saying that you are one of the best in the world, mate. I love every single one of your performances on Australia's Got Talent and I can't wait to hear more of your music. If you ever release an album, I'll be one of the first to buy it. All the best, mate. You're gonna be huge after this, I can feel it.
Such a powerful voice and yes he did his father proud but it would have been really nice to acknowledge his mother as well, otherwise he would not be here❣️so thank you so much mom for being a great mother❣️
Bellissimo David (excuse my spelling), utterly beautiful. You have an air of the greats Caruso - Mario Lansa. MOVE OVER Pavarotti!!! May you have all the success you deserve. I hope your Papa is well, love Brenda (RED) Mayne from the UK.
I love this aria also. If you haven't heard it, listen to Pavarotti singing it live in Paris, especially for the last notes - his best rendition - absolutely stunning!

I just love how beautifully his voice just pours out this song...
Respect, seriozitate, perfectiune, tandrete

He did a wonderful job. Every tenor has a different voice and this guy is a performer. I have been listening to opera for over 62 years. I have heard many since the 1950's, including my home town Mario Lanza, and he did proud indeed.
Mario Lanza was very under rated as a tenor. His version of Nessun Dorma was outstanding. I would put him right up with the greats
Mario Lanza! My all time favorite! But this guy did a great job! Beautiful!
Excelente 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hearing him sing again, he rightfully won. Seemed so effortlessly, it flowed out of David with perfection. Glad you won.
His voice is smooth and smooth without a break through all registers.
Heard this in competitions so many times and enjoyed watching them all, but there is something very special about David, and if he is careful and stays focussed, he could be even greater than he already is! Very beautiful and powerful voice and perfect italian pronunciation (I am italian). Bravissimo David, congratulazioni!
David is Italian

Però purtroppo l'orchestra ha sbagliato il finale
David has a rich beautiful sound, puts the other so-called tenor Nessun Dorma wannabees to shame, like Paul Potts. He should be searching for a great Italian singing teacher to enhance his artistry! Philip Tropea tenor
You can see and hear the passion he's got for this song, I absolutely love it

David I am a huge fan of Pavoratti and his singing of Nessun Dorma however, you in my opinion have blown Pavoratti away Thank You.
The breakout at 3:50 is the clearest, cleanest, most pure and finest display of singing perfection I have ever heard.
DAVID .... la mejor versión de nessun dorma... además se sabe la partitura .... excelente técnica tiene ACADEMIA 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
