I just have a small, compact DJ setup with speakers, lighting, a couple of laptops, and a mixer, and if I need to hire equipment or need any equipment, I just rent it or borrow it from friends or an equipment hire service, and then I put that on the client's bill at the end of the gig that I do.
I ended up getting a 10'x20' storage unit a mile down the road from the house. Too much stuff to keep at the house without a great place to keep it. The storage unit is also convenient for loading and unloading.
Great video Brian. I’ve been a DJ for over 30 years, and if theres any advice I can give is to, if possible, store your gear indoors. If you store it in a hut/outbuilding etc without heat, then you may have issues. Iv’e done this and the extreme low temperatures on your gear is not good. You turn up to a gig and your gear is covered in condensation (water) and this is bad. Anyway, my advise is get it indoors, if you can. 😊
