Thanks for the video. I noticed you didn't connect the other carry over tubes. My replacement kit came with three of those parts. I assume they are attached in the same manner as the first one. Looks simple enough. Once again, thanks for taking the time to make this video. It is very helpful.
Good catch. Definitely want to include all of them. Glad you made this comment so others can be aware. If you only have the one ignitor, all of them will connect. If you have more than one ignitor, the set up will look different. I'll have another video about this concern. Cheers! Thank you for a well filmed video. I had bought the burner kit off Amazon which is now up to $50, and once I saw all those parts I lost my nerve and was going to return it. I decided to do a RUclips search and came across this video. After watching you do it, it was a piece of cake for me. Thanks again.
Thanks for showing how they connect to gas nozzle. I am replacing my tube and need to look under the grill to ensure they r inserted correctly. P/S this video saved me from buying another grill. 25.00 in replacement kit vs. 100’s in buying a whole new grill. Thank you!!🙏🏽
Most dismayed to open up my grill last week, ready for summer and find the burners, cross members & covers totally rusted away. leading to visions of another new & expensive grill. Found your video, ordered the $30 repair kit and now we're grilling tonight! Thanks so much.
Thanks man! I watched this and then just did it. Didn't even need the included directions. Dunno if it helps you but I clicked all the affiliate links just to say thanks.
Glad the video was helpful. That's what matters most to me! The affiliate links just give me a small commission if you purchase the item through it. There is no added cost on your end; Amazon just provides a very small commission. Either way, thank you!
Great video. I purchased a Char Broil grill from Lowes 2 years ago. Luckily I found the manual and did not realize the burner parts are warranted for 5 years!!! I almost ordered replacement burners for over $70. They registered my grill over the phone and only charged me $5 for shipping!!!
@@monkabuda That's great! I've started to be better about saving paperwork when I buy things just for this very reason. I would hate to throw out "free" money!
Exactly!! When I was looking for the Grill paperwork I came across the Air Fryer paperwork that I was ready to throw away because it stopped working properly. Little did i know it was still covered under the warrantee!! They are sending me a new one!!
Thank you for the video. It was very informative right up to the part where you were suppose to connect the igniter to the new tubes. I was having a problem with that area. I’ll guess I figure it out. Great video though
A common problem is the igniter clip not fitting back on to the new tube. You can use pliers to pinch the clip to better attach. If that doesn’t help I’m happy to answer what I can!
Love this video! I have a Char-Broil Tru infrared. Very helpful explanation for people like me who don’t know where to begin with changing my burners. Also, my grates are a bit rusted like yours; is it ok to cook on rusty grates? Thanks again!
Thanks for your kind words Peggy! I'm glad the video was informative. Personally I would not cook on something too rusty. Sometimes after heating the grill up a few times and giving it a good clean you can remove a fair amount. If it's getting into your food, I would definitely be mindful of that; your health is always more important!
First, thanks for the video. I really learned a lot about a CharBroil Advantage grill we were given by a friend. Yes we have to make some simple replacements which with the help of this video those replacements will be easy. I do have a question. The bottom pan that you were cleaning on the one we have doesn't have anything below the drip hole. No pan or anything to help catch the grease, also is is a little more rusty that the one you show. (Great job on the clean up, hope I can do the same.) Can a grease pan be purchased or that part replaced?
Thanks for your comment. You probably could replace it but a cheaper alternative that I have implemented is just putting an old, large baking sheet underneath to catch any mess. Cheers
Question, I recently attempted to clean my Char Broil 4 burner grill and in trying to put the burners back in, I'm having difficulty in putting back the metallic pins thru the screws due to the Cross Members being in the way of the pin hole inside the screw. Now in your video, you only put ONE Cross Member back in your grills, mine came with 4. Are you saying as long as the one Cross Member is installed for where the Igniter burner is, the other Cross Members and their respective metal pins don't matter and are just extra stuff the manufacturer puts in? If so, you're going to save me a lot of trouble trying to put all 8 pins and all 4 Cross Members back!
Great question. I made a follow up video to answer your question: ruclips.net/video/CnaAMMCdJXk/видео.html You need those cross members to connect the burners so the spark/flame travel to each one. If you have multiple ignitors, then all of them do not need to connect to each other. If you have 1, then yes you do need all burners to connect since there is only 1 ignitor.
I have CharBroil Designer series model #463244105 with cast-iron burner. I wonder whether I can use this burner to replace my cast-iron burner? The length should be identical roughly. I don't see any reason why not if the attachment male/female is the same. Can you comment on this? Thanks.
Good question. I assume that’d be fine as long as the diameter of the burner matches the male end within the grill. I don’t know if they are universal. Length could be slightly altered with a saw but I’m sure you could make it work. Hard to know for sure!
The flame guards I got did fit. Many kits now are universal. The guards simply lay on top of the grill ends so it needs to be the distance. I guess you cut cut them down if you have the tools but mine did fit since it was a replacement for that model.
@@learnsavediy properly right? i know what you meant :) the other day I was trying to pull a 16d aluminum nail out of a tree trunk, using the hammer claw with a 2 by 4 under it for leverage - the nail head broke off. i was about to snip the exposed nail when i thought i'd try a vise grip - this worked. when one tool doesn't get the job done, try another!
I would search your grill's make and model and "crossover tube screws"...hopefully that will get you the right answer. You can also google the manual for your grill to see if it has a parts list there. Cheers

There is only the one this grill and it didn’t come with a replacement one with the kit. Usually if it’s not working you just need to replace the battery

what do the cross members between burner tunes do?
They carry the flame to the other non-sparking burners. See the short video here: ruclips.net/video/CnaAMMCdJXk/видео.htmlsi=GGOUsApM2luVZZod
